"Online reservations system is a snap. Put special request in system and expectations beat. Warm & friendly greeting. Server very attentive and professional. Surprised with wonderful birthday dessert on the house. Filet comes to perfection and melted in my mouth along with the perfectly prepared lobster and butter. High steaks is a must come dining experience. I'll be back!!"

"The food was great! The service was lacking! When I am at a restaurant of this caliber the expectations are much higher. The service we received was sub par at best. Sizzler has better service than we were provided. The waitress was seen twice after the order was taken but never appeared back at our table. Our drinks were never refilled, but we were able to walk around the restaurant and get our own drinks and gather the essential needs. The manager was given a simple request and he failed to accommodate that request accurately. Overall the experience has left a bad taste in our mouths. We probably won't be return guests."

"It was my boyfriends 37th birthday. I booked it thinking he would most likely enjoy a steak on his birthday. When we arrived they sat us right away and we appreciated being treated just like the next guest. They brought the bread to the table and i said " I cant eat this" it looks like a piece of art"! However,.. I did eat it and the veriety of breads were yummy. I looked at the menu and thought, this better be good for the price.... I had the rotisserie chicken with a side of asparagus.. it was soo good. I actually said.. "This is the best chicken I ever had". My boyfriend had the t bone steak and lobster tail. He said it was delicious. He gave it a 9. (: Yes,.. we will def return."

"we had to send our meal back the first time it was served, medium rare apparently was not a concept the chefs understood. steaks came out closer to medium well. took a long time to get the replacement and it was just fair. prices are similar to Morton's so why not just go there and be assured og great food and great service."

"We were very pleased with this restaurant we chose for our anniversary. The food was fantastic, had a great dinning experience and we plan on dinning there again when we come back. We enjoyed just watching all the staff work well together, they were very busy but everything flowed well. Our waitress was outstanding I think her name was Carmella. She made us feel as though we were her only table, because she was very attentive and friendly. Thank you"

"Glad to have such a classy restaurant available in the middle of the typical environment of a casino! Once you enter, you leave behind the sound of slot machines and "wheel of fortune". We were served by Mike S - we'd had him once before. What a swell, outgoing, fun server - and extremely professional to boot. He knew the menu and the wines - not always a refined capability in a server. I ordered the scallops - expecting 3-4 (about 2 inches across) - there were seven of them! Lightly battered and sauteed in what must have been a half pound of butter! Excellent experience!"

"The rating for the ambiance is fair only because of cigarette smoke that comes into the room from the casino. Whatever technology used in the smoke-free slot room should be installed in this very nice restaurant.

"My guest and I enjoyed our dining experience at High Steaks. We both ordered steaks, filet & rib eye, cooked to our specifications. These steaks parallel Ruth Chris in terms of taste and quality. The 5 cheese mac and cheese was exceptional as was the wedge salad. The desert, an espresso chocolate pot, was very good but a little heavier than I expected.
As for our service, we couldn't have been happier.

"Unfortunately we probably won't be going back to High Steaks. Ambiance-5 stars. Food-5 stars Service-no stars! Perfect booth in the bar, the chef presented her prawn and bacon masterpiece to us, my rib-eye was cooked perfectly. If only the restaurant hand given the same attention to training the wait staff. An hour fifteen to receive our entrees, our waitress nowhere to be found, waters never refilled, a second glass of wine finally arriving as we signed the bill. Bee spent close to $200.00 bucks for this experience, shape up High Steaks, train your staff how to wait tables!"

"Dinner was amazing! I had the Kurobuta pork chop that was the best pork chop I have ever had. If you like goat cheese, ask them to melt some on top for you. They gladly accommodated my request and much to my surprise, the chef even said, "Now that person knows how to request a pork chop!" She even came out to meet us. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious (they definitely don't skimp on the seafood platter appetizer and the dessert was delicious well), and the general manager, Manuel, was a gracious host. I would definitely recommend."

"High Stakes is a great find once you make your way through the casino. I definitely recommend it. Decor is very upscale and comfortable. Good wine list, good bar. Unfortunately this time all of our food arrived at room temperature. It tasted great, but it wasn't even really lukewarm. We were very disappointed. The waiter had been attentive, but I guess he got busy and the lad who delivered our food placed his carry tray behind a wall 10 feet away and carried 1 dish at a time to our table. Each time he went back to the tray I could see him studying the tray and it took quite a bit of time to get the food onto our table. I was about ready to run over and help. I still recommend this restaurant. It was just an off night."

"I wanted to have a Special Dinner for my Birthday.... I decided to spend the weekend at the Thunder Valley Casino and Resort. Everyone was very friendly and the food was great. The steak was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed my visit to High Steaks and I will be back again."

"I have been there a number of times and I think it may have been an off night. Appetizer, entree and dessert was not as notable as previous visits. Coffee was incredible! I will go back, as I have enjoyed it before and it happens to every restaurant from time to time."

"Service was impeccable. It was a birthday event and hostess greeted us with a "Happy Birthday?" Nice touch. We had cocktails at bar first. Again, service was impeccable.
At dinner we ordered Oysters Rockefeller and the special of filet mignon and lobster tail, with a side of steamed spinach. Oysters Rockefeller were so so. The oysters were not ground with the meal - they were whole and dusted with meal. Not terrible, but not so hot.
Filet and lobster were excellent and cooked exactly to order.
Service was perfect and friendly.
High steaks supplied a very nice desert for the birthday occasion.
We look forward to going back, but won't order the Oysters Rockefeller!"

"the smoke was so awful going thru the casino that i was choking and eyes burning I thought you aren't suppose to smoke in public places in ca.it totally ruin everything.so even if the restaurant was nice i won't recommend it or come back again."
