Monti's Rotisserie & Bar
Located in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, Monti’s welcomes you with its rustic Mediterranean ambiance. In addition to different nightly specials from the large wood-fired rotisserie, including CK Leg of Lamb and Liberty Farms Lavender Roasted Duck, Monti’s menu offers both small and big plates that feature fresh local meats and seasonal produce. Also available are pizzas, pastas, salads and a selection of items from the raw bar. The well stocked wine cellar offers an extensive selection of wines, all available by the glass and there is a full bar. It’s no surprise that this warm and inviting restaurant has become a neighborhood favorite since it opened in the summer of 2004. Patio dining is available.

"Restaurant was not prepared to be busy. Service was very slow and not only did we wait over an hour to receive our meal but we constantly had to request water to be refilled and the waiter forgot to give us bread and butter. It was very noisy but that's not bad."

"Overall the experience was very good. The two people who had the chicken dish thought it was skimpy. The description of 1/2 chicken appeared much smaller. The fresh peas and carrots with the chicken were very good though.
The only service complaint was we asked for additional bread for the salami platter and it never came. We had asked the person who delivered the food, which was probably the problem. She apparently didn't follow through because when we brought it to the attention of our wait person she had to place the order, and it came late."

"We enjoyed a great dinner for 13 people. Each person ordered a different plate and we shared. The grilled pork chop and halibut dishes were the top rated. The special, lamb shank, was cooked perfectly. they feature a lot of local wines, which were enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the creme burlee and cheesecake - the crowd loved the creme burlee but the crustless cheesecake was a little to yogurty for the crowd. Service was okay - they didn't know where and how to serve the plates and they didn't check out table often enough to keep the momentum of the wine flowing."

"They were rather busy when we first arrived and we had to wait a bit to be greeted and seated; which could explain why we were not served bread. Aside from no bread; which really was not needed; service was very good. Our server was helpful in selecting a wine and offered a sample of two we were choosing between. The Hanger Steak was a bit chewy and the Duck was not cooked thoroughly,our server was quick to offer to take the Duck off the bill. We were celebrating our son's birthday and a complimentary dessert was offered. Over all it was an enjoyable evening and we would go back."

"Always a good, reliable spot in Santa Rosa for business lunches and meeting up with friends for wine/appetizers or dinner. Just wish they'd mix it up a bit with their menu -- especially the appetizer/small bites offering. Their standard offerings are reliably good, but it would be nice to see some seasonal offerings to bring some excitement to their menu.

"Disappointing for a Friday afternoon lunch to get the weekend started. Calamari was weird with lemon and other "things" passed off as the squid in the serving. Baby Lettuce salad was overbearing with its dressing. Heats of Romaine Lettuce was very good but two out of three dishes not being okay was very disappointing! Outside dining included skate boarders noisily going by and FED EX drivers making their deliveries took away from the "Great for Outdoor Dining" experience. We definitely won't return or recommend to friends."

"We live within walking distance, and consider ourselves so fortunate to be close to this restaurant. My wife is gluten intolerant, and Monti's has a separate menu for gluten free items. The gluten free menu is nearly the same as the regular menu. There are so many choices from which to choose. The staff is always pleasant and mindful. The food is outstanding. I just tried a new menu item (halibut), and I'll have it again when I return. Interesting flavors with a combination of chilies and forbidden rice. The fish was cooked perfectly, and just about melted in my mouth! We went there this time to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. It is a special place!"

"It's time we stop accepting bad food. I love this place, but they have a new chef. This was the worse meal I've had in months. I'm nott sure what's going on but for some reason restaurants are not preparing great food let alone good food. This restaurant prepares great chicken, not this time. Half a chicken. Not really a small leg, breast and tail bone try eating a tail bone.
Their pasta was dry
It's time we say no to high price dinners that are not high value.
I willI try this restaurant one more time. Six weeks ago I raved about it. The food is heading in the wrong direction!!!"

"The food, as always, was great. We sat outside so that we had a little quieter setting. There are two outside eating areas. One is along side to the left of the front door, and that would have been better than where we sat, across from the front door on the walk way. There was a breeze and even with the heaters, we were pretty cold. The service was abismal. Our server didn't have a clue that she was supposed to be unobtrusive. She was most obnoxious, making a point to interrupt our rather lively conversation every time she approached the table in the mistaken belief that she was to be the center of attention. Then afer dropping the dessert menus, she disappeared. One of our party actually took our dessert orders inside"

"Very nice food, well trained wait staff - friendly but not chatty. Fireplace lends a nice ambience. I love that you can actually have a conversation in this restaurant. The only bad thing is that their tap water tastes very strange. We told the wait staff about this, and they said to tell the resturant management."

"One of our favorites! Always comes through with a great experience for a special occasion. In this case, my wife's birthday. "I can't believe I haven't rated Monti's before. We've dined there countless times! It's our go-to restaurant when we have guests, or when we just feel like going out and having a great meal. Their salads are great. The pasta with short-rib ragout is killer, the pork chop is my daughter's favorite - also one of mine, the hanger steak with truffle fries is awesome and the lamb shanks are perfect. The seafood dishes are excellent and guaranteed not to disappoint! But, my favorite part of every dinner there is oysters on the half-shell with one of their magnificent cocktails. Don't miss dessert - the peanut butter gelato cookie is to die for. Sit at the raw bar and watch the action!"

"We arrived 90 minutes before our reservation time and were still welcomed warmly and seated promptly. Extra bonus was a special Gluten Free menu for GF guests. Not advertised, so ask for it. The food was very nice and decently priced and our server had excellent knowledge of the wine list and pairing recommendations. Flavorful and fresh cuisine. Would recommend if you are looking for a healthy, yet satisfying meal."

"When the inside tables are full, "energetic" is an understatement for the noise level. Deafening would be more appropriate. If you want a quiet dinner opt to eat on the patio.
While the food is very good, most times your server has trouble hearing you unless you shout above the din."

"Lovely dinner and cocktails - too cold to sit outside, but we would have if we could of handled it. Service was wonderful - very noisy though. Desserts were awesome! Creme brulee and warm chocolate cake are very highly recommended."

"Definitely good advice on Yelp review, I think it was, to make a reservation, even on a mid-week night...seemed to get us the forefront table, only table left, and we're running cold and it was perfect! Not many of these fireside tables in Sonoma County.
Great service, good timing, great variety for what we were craving. Butternut squash raviolini on chard, good bitters n' savories for our vegetarian especially appreciated;^D"
