Expect the pleasantly unexpected at Serendipity 3. Since 1954, this colorful New York restaurant is proud to be located in the heart of Georgetown offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience worth biting into. Fun and funky is the name of the game at Serendipity. It"s the place that serves up anything but ordinary. Weekend brunch, lunch, dinner and then some – Serendipity's dessert menu is just as amazing. Try the Crème De La Cream Cheese Cake, go for the Deep Fried Oreos and Ice Cream, lose yourself in a heaping mound of Apple Cobbler or create your own Classic Sundae with toppings such as hot fudge, melted marshmallow and even raspberries. Another legendary favorite includes the famous Frozen Hot Chocolate that blends 20 different kinds of chocolate into an icy, rich cocoa flavor.
"One goes to Serendipity for the frozen hot chocolate based menu items because, at least at the NY Serendipitiys, they're the thing to get and they're amazing. They're on the online menu for Serendipity 3...but SURPRISE, they're not available at the restaurant and it's nothing like the NY ones. What makes it worse is that the waiter hadn't even heard of the forzen hot chocolate dishes and didn't know what they were even though there are magazine and newpaper articles framed on the wall about how good and famous they are. Without those dishes and with a wait staff that appeared confused that they might just be working at IHOP, there are far better places in Georgetown to buy your overpriced brunch."

"I must say, after all the hype Serendipity was not what i excpected. The food was mediocre but they have good drinks which is why i checked "hot spot"!"

"We had a wonderful time at Serendipity 3. It's not as large as the one in NY, but it started to get busy as we were leaving. Our server, Giovanny, was excellent. He was super attentive without being overbearing and made us feel at home. The chili was very good, it was mildly sweet with a nice little kick. The Steak Frite was cooked perfectly and super tasty. Everything overall was very much worthwhile. Also, since it's on a corner in Georgetown, DC there is always someone walking by which is fun if you like to people watch."

"I have only been to the NYC location. I was happy to find one in Georgetown. The food and service was phenominal. It doesn't quite have the quirky magic of the original but it was great on its own."

"went for brunch - food and options were great. A little overpriced considering what you get and not very comfortable seating but overall a good brunch option."

"Although it was a Sunday at 11 am... we were immediately told that they were out of smoothies, quiche, corned beef hash and french toast. How is that possible? Why didn't the manager just go right across the street to the bakery and buy some bread? We were ready to walk out as we had wanted smoothies and french toast. We stayed because we were hungry. The food was average and pricey. We walked around Georgetown afterwards and were so mad that we didn't leave... farmers fisher bakers looked a million times better!"

"Had reservations for 4 , at last minute we added one person. The host/manager Was extremely rude and told us no way he could accomadate 1 more person, although place was half empty. Made us feel unwelcome. After telling us we would have to wait a half hour we were "squeezed" in as we originally requested and was told it was impossible. The service was awful , very slow. The frozen hot chocolate was just ok, imitation whipped cream nothing like the original in NYC. Way overpriced and the bill came with gratuity included!! 20% for 5 people who were ignored by waitstaff for 20 min ?!? Not to mention the manager/host that night. Another employee said his name was " Alex". Save your money and eat somewhere else in Georgetown"

"It wasn't spectacular. Its such a hot spot in NYC that I expected more of the same. They didn't have vegan options which was also surprising. Good for brunch. Omelettes were great. Nothing to write home about overall."

"Came here for lunch with a friend for lunch on a Thursday. There was plenty of seating and we were greeted warmly when we walked in. We ordered the DC Chicken Strips, Empire State Onion Rings, and a Foot-Long hot dog. It was all SO good and SO much food. I definitely recommend getting the Frozen Hot Chocolate. Again, also delicious. The interior design is really cute for a lunch date with a friend or a romantic time with a special someone. The only downside was the service, while our waiter was friendly, he kept forgetting to bring several items to the table, and we had to ask him several times."
