Chez Pierre
Chez Pierre is an authentic French Bistro, one everybody wishes they had in their neighborhood. Most of the dining is in the charming covered patio where the ambiance is intimate, friendly and always very professional. Prepared by Chef Pierre with the knowledge, passion and respect of the seasonal ingredients from the farmer’s market, the food is superb. The specials on the blackboard are impressive, unusual and follow the seasons. In winter you can find Chef Perre’s famous cassoulet to wild game; In the spring shad roe and soft shell crabs; and in the summer you can find paella, steak tartar, and pomme frites.
It’s no surprise that Chez Pierre has been voted The Best French Restaurant of the Desert for the past six years and has been rated “Dining Excellence” by Zagat and Gayot.

"From the moment we were greeted by the wife of Pierre and told he would come to the table to discuss what he could prepare for me we know it would be a lovely evening. He did just that as well a provide my own pate and celery so I too could partake of this silken delight! Seafood was perfectly cooked. Wine provided a wonderful paring. Very personal feeling as the waitstaff arrives with the board to go over the special for the evening. Vegetables could have been less done but minor!
Look to the left as you face Trader Joes, restaurant is set back and slightly hidden, worth finding!"

"The food was outstanding, as good as it gets. Unfortunately, the service was lackluster. We got the specials and the menu and then sat around for a long time to get our order. We asked for water and that took a long time. The timing between first and second course was poor. The restaurant was not that busy so it should have been much better service.
When the food is outstanding the service should match."

"The service was good and the owner/chef's wife charming, (she came over to the table and asked how everything was.) But the veal picatta was not the best I've had. I suppose we would have done better with a different dish. The complimentary pate was wonderful and the chocolate mousse rich, delicious and gratis because it was my friend's birthday. So, that was a nice touch.
The Spa Menu and Prix Fixe Menu were not offered, however, they do appear on their website and that was a disappointment."

"The food was pretty good, but not outstanding.
It was nice that the chef came out and visited at the tables, but otherwise the service was inattentive. (For example, our group of five finished the first bottle of wine in the first 20 minutes of the evening and we were never asked if we wanted a second bottle.)
The biggest disappointment was the ambience. The restaurant is wedged into the corner of shopping mall near a large chain grocery store. The dining area is mostly outdoors on concrete patio. It is great to be able to sit outside, but the space lacks charm. If this were a reasonably priced hamburger place I would have liked the set up, but for a restaurant at this price point it doesnt measure up."

"Wonderful find. Been twice in 5 days. My wife had a fit over the Orange Roughy. I had the roasted Duck and it was fantastic. Chef comes out and speaks to everyone. Don't be put off that it is in a shopping center close to Trader Joes. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Also try the steak with peppercorn sauce."

"We met friends there, introducing them to the restaurant. I had the fresh orange roughy which was prepared to perfection. Hubby had steak au pauve which he said was a bit strong for him. We shared a carafe of wine which was also very good. We enjoyed not being rushed as we visited with our friends. The waiter was very patient with us. I HAD to have the tart tatin for dessert and was not disappointed. Excellent. Everyone enjoyed the food . We will return again next year when we come back to the desert."

"Chez Pierre's continues to be a great "French" experience in the desert. Pierre himself is in the kitchen cooking away and then out amongst the clientele greeting and showing off his warm and enthusiastic personality. Great pomme frites!!! Just a delight every time we visit!!"
