"We have lived in Sarasota for 8 years and this is our first time visiting. We should have started coming here 8 years ago. This is a small restaurant with outstanding food. It may be that it's location is what through us, as it is on the end of a condo building and seems somewhat non-descript. However once inside, the atmosphere is entirely different with a modern minimalist approach primarily in white. Tables are well separated. Service and food are outstanding. They do not have a full bar - wish they did. It is expensive, but the food is worth it."

"It was some of the best food i've had but i cannot handle the stark atmosphere. I asked why surrounded by curtains, and they said it over looked a parking lot. I would rather look out at something than a white curtain. It really creeped me out. So sad because the food was absolutely top notch. Definitely need to fix the atmosphere. Something on the walls!"

"The place could use some added touches, some updating as it seems like it never changed from its opening. Is there such a thing as too quiet. Maybe some white noise would keep you from whispering so others won't hear your conversation. The food is amazing in that, while a beautiful blend of flavors, you marvel at how those modest portions fill you completely. The interlude courses are always a nice tough and keep the focus on the food. Always pricey, but for an occasion, it fits the bill."

"The french food is very good, service great, romantic atmosphere and overall very enjoyable. One quibble was we sent the shrimp appetizer back to the chef as we didn't think it tested right. They did not take our input well. Classic French chef I guess."

"It was a disappointing experience. Dining in a restaurant with all the windows covered creates a tomb-like atmosphere. The menu was interesting but the best executed item was the bread, which was wonderfully light and flavorful. The lobster risotto had plenty of lobster but the rice was not the creamy texture one expects for risotto. The pepper sauce for the steak needed much more pepper to move it to good from too bland. The service was inattentive. We had to ask to have the wine and water refilled each time.

"One of the best restaurants in Sarasota. In the middle of the dining room, there is a huge pot of large white orchids( phalaenopsis) two words to describe the decor UNDERSTATED CLASS. The food is consistently good. The dishes presented by Chef Jose are authentic French, and very refined. The Cote de boeuf is especially good, as is my personal favorite the Mediterranean Sea bass. If you like Grand Marnier, the soufflé is to die for ."

"This is, by far, our favorite restaurant in the Sarasota area. MrSeriousFoodie and DinnerDoctor have dined here many times, and it never disappoints. We always look forward to the wonderful treatment by all the wait staff, and especially from Victoria who runs the restaurant with her chef husband Jose Martinez. We are impressed with their philosophy of value wines, impeccably matched with Chef Martinez's food. Can't miss dishes, always on the menu, are the suckling pig (best we've ever had) and the sweetbreads (again, the best we ever had). We give this place high marks because of the restaurant's consistency. It just misses getting our highest marks because the menu does not vary much, and the desserts need help."

"Although this restaurant featured a minimalist contemporary decor the interior was definitely warm and inviting. Service was impeccable, attentive but not overbearing..and the food was outstanding. In fact all of us at the table want the short rib recipe. The restaurant works perfectly for both a business meeting or a romantic night for two and the noise level was conducive to actually carrying out a conversation..but of course it is the food that was the star attraction."

"Perfect as usual! Maison Blamche is probably the best restaurant on the entire west coast of Florida, if not the entire state. This is refined dining so don't expect fried fish and large portions here. Be prepared for sophisticated food in an elegant setting with superb service."

"Excellent food and wonderful service. We enjoyed the tomato pie and mushroom ravioli for our appetizers, short ribs and sea bass for our entree and the apple pastry and chocolate cake for dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and hope to enjoy again soon. The location is a bit odd as it is on the corner of a condo building, but you will soon overlook the location based on the great food."
