"Forgetting which culture the restaurant's cuisine was, we had to substitute tzatziki for our young granddaughter's favorite - hummus.

"On our way home to the Philadelphia area from Bethlehem's annual Bach Festival, we stopped for dinner at Yianni's for the second year in a row. The hosts were friendly, and our young waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the Kalamari appetizer (tender, not bar food). The salmon on a bed of spinach was very good; the veal stuffed with crab and shrimp. truly outstanding. A mixup about which rice I wanted with the veal (with vegetables mixed in, rather than plain) was promptly and cheerfully corrected, at no charge. Beet salad on the side was also delicious. Two terrific dinners with 3 glasses of Greek wine between the two of us, and no desserts, came to under $90. The atmosphere is relaxed, bright, not trying too hard."

"Bethlehem, PA, is not a place one would expect to find exceptional Greek cuisine. My wife and I, visiting this charming and lively town for a music festival, finally got to Yianni's, having heard positive comments from friends. It turned out to be the best Greek food we have had since we lived in Chicago (thirty years ago)! I opted for the roasted lamb shank with orzo; my wife had a veal special. Our waiter, Brian, was a gem -- he knew the restaurant's menu well, and was there when needed (and absent when not). We were so pleased that we immediately made a reservation for the next night -- again with Brian -- and enjoyed an equally superb meal (tilapia with spinach and feta for me, scallops for my wife). A real treat!"

"This is our fourth visit to Yianni's and we have never been disappointed. We were celebrating a birthday so ordered everything from multiple appetizers to dessert. Everything was delicious and the uniqueness of menu items makes it interesting. The Baklava was outstanding! My husband who is from Armenian decent (where this is a common dessert) said that this is the best he has had since his elder "aunties" would make it for the family. Service and ambiance was just right as well."

"My first experience at Yianni's was about a year ago, I took a Greek friend there, he loved it, and have been going back every since. Justin was our waiter and he was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere and decor transports you to a Greek island as does the food. I think by now I have had at least everything on the menu many times over. The crab cakes and grilled octopus are my favorites, and the deserts are out of this world! Wonderful drink and wine menu as well. Overall a great experience each time I dine at Yianni's. Highly recommended."

"We were in town for the Lehigh Valley 1/2 marathon and Yianni's was perfect. It was great to see such a well done space as well as such wonderful food. "I really liked the food and I would 100% come back for it. One thing that bothered me was that everyone that worked there seemed like they were trying to sell the restaurant to me. Like i was asked numerous times if i was coming back to Yianni's Taverna and when I do, I should bring more people. That turned me off a little bit....but not enough. I'll still be back :)"

"The atmosphere and vibrancy of Yianni's was wonderful. My only regret was that the place was filled to capacity when we arrived, and we weren't seated quickly or served in the most timely manner. Having said that, the food was spectacularly prepared and arrived hot and delicious! Overall, we had a lovely dining experience and will return again soon (but perhaps not on a Saturday night)!"

"We arrived with a party of 9, 2 of which were kids. I was hesitate to stay but the restaurant is very energetic! The kids were drowned out by the noise. It is not overly loud just vibrant dining! The food was excellent, everyone was happy. The kids meal were amazing also, fresh fruit and salad choices!
The server was great with everyone, amazingly attentive! My only issues was we ordered 4 appetizers and they came out staggered? Each one arrived 3-5 minutes apart! 1 app for a party of 9 doesn't make it around the table!! The manager stopped by also... Very lovely man!"

"We had a wonderful dinner at Yianni's. The ambiance is unique and incomparable....classic Mediterranean. The food was excellent, and the seafood was fresh and delicious. We had a Greek Chardonnay, which we enjoyed; however, we would like to see some more moderately priced wine selections in addition to the current wine list. "The location and team is nice. The menu is terrific, and lunch offerings Good.
I used open table for reservations, and added a key note about a birthday. One waitress approached the topic, even though it was. Surprise .
After stopping her, from blowing the surprise, we went to lunch and then waited and waited and waited.....no birthday offer, nothing!

"Enjoyable evening with 8 people. Service friendly and efficient. Food was very good with fish our primary order. Special cold plate was solid, whole fish grilled tasty, salmon special very good, oysters really good, and sea bass excellent. Calamari was weak, too much batter and not enough flavor, frozen? Wine list ok, but it took several choices until we came upon one actually in stock. Overall a nice evening."

"A great traditional Greek restaurant. This is not Greek deli / food truck fare. It's full traditional Greek dishes and seafood.
Great food, some creative items, nice atmosphere, not stiflingly formal, open and hidden kitchens, very nice service.
My family is vegetarian (not vegan, but no fish, fowl or meat) and there are a decent number of things for us. My kids call it "the flaming cheese place".
A real find in the Lehigh Valley where food options are pretty limited."

"My wife and I had great expectations for our visit to Yianni's. The nice landscaping and soft, ethnic acoustic music that played outside the entrance created a nice ambiance. Our waiter, Brian, was friendly and attentive to our needs. In fact, our experience was quite nice overall, with one glaring exception. I ordered the special of the evening, roast goat. While the rest of our meal was quite good, my entree was useless. Apparently the chef simply threw a large bone on my plate and sent it out for my enjoyment. I was able to scrape about a forkfull of meat off it and that was it. The rest was, literally, a big solid bone. I can't imagine any restaurant serving something like that. It was insulting."

"Had dinner here for the first time since the name change from Gus's Crossroads. Since the name change, the physical structure has been greatly upgraded. It used to look like a diner, now it looks like a nice Greek restaurant. The food quality I would say is similar. Yes, the menu has been upgraded. The quality of the food, however, is good, but not something special. I had the Ageian Platter. There were more vegtibles then the actual seafood. My wife had a chiken dish that she reported was a bit tough."

"Best herbed, grilled octopus I've ever tried. This was our second visit to the restaurant, and service was very good, even on a busy Valentine's Day night. Lots of appetizers and entrees to choose from. Very solid and well-rendered traditional Greek dishes, but they also do an excellent job of expanding into a more varied Mediterranean menu and dishes. If you love seafood, go for the Agean Platter, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu."

"Second visit to Yiannis and OPA! Better than the first. Arrived 10 mins. early for a 7:30 reservation and the restaurant was expectedly packed. It was Valentines Day. We were offered a complimentary drink.at the bar and.seated 15-20 mins later. The flowers that I ordered for my girlfriend were on the table as requested, and were arranged beautifully. They had an extensive special menu which consisted of 4 courses. My sister ordered from this while the rest of us opted for the menu. Food cooked perfectly and served by a totally professional waitstaff. One glitch. When requesting my flowers be placed on table, I requested Brian as our waiter, but was given Tony instead. No problem though. He filled in just fine. Keep up the good work."
