Tartinery
Tartinery is the modern version of the traditional french bistro. Its concept, inevitably, revolves around the Tartine, which can be described as a classic and gourmet open-faced sandwich served on a razor-thin slice of toasted bread. Our feature bread is the well-renowed Poilane country bread from St Germain-des-Pres in Paris. Among our 17 recipes you will find a tartine you will love at any hour of the day to share or not to share. In addition, we also offer typical salads, seasonal soups (hot & chilled), homemade desserts, freshly squeezed juices and a unique selection of boutique and organic wines by the glass, carafe and bottle. We are a wine bar and “tapas” bar French style by evenings. The entire menu is chalk-written on the wall above the concrete bar. Chalk walls are also found in the restrooms, where customers can leave their own personal messages of appreciation. The industrial decor is a tactful blend of New York classics and european soul.

"The food is always amazing, never a let down and consistently delicious. However the service downstairs (the main dining room) is extremely short and lacking in comparative to the food. We were seated and then failed to see a server for several minutes, eventually we got our menus, and ordered right away in fear of never seeing our server again. We received our food, amazing. However we then waited for a good 20 minutes after finishing our meal to have the plates cleared, we wanted dessert however we decided to pay our check in leave, in fear of being trapped another hour."

"Over all it was ok. We were late and we apologized for it and were willing to wait for a table. They made a big deal out of it and the entire time we were dinning we felt rushed and un-welcomed. The food was fine. It's a cute place. I just don't think they wanted us there. Oh well. I would recommend it and would try it again but only if I was in the area."

"Love the interior design of this restaurant. Had the prix fixe lunch for $13 that comes with soup and a small version of their open faced 'sandwich'. Great location - for those shopping in Soho and Little Italy, NOLITA etc."

"I enjoyed the food, ambiance, and the drinks...except for the service. The server by the name Tania was not friendly and rude. Granted the entire night was busy, but there's always a way to be attentive with your customers. She didn't check on us to see how if everything was ok. On top of it, she forgot to give us a dessert menu when I had asked for it and didn't even apologize. I ended up asking the host. Make matters worse she basically kicked us out because she had another party for the table. It was the way she said it. She was not nice about it. Very rude. I would definitely go back for the food, but I will be not be served by Tania again."

"Overall this was a great find- the food is delicious, try the carrot cake for desert! However, they kicked us out as soon as we put our desert spoons down, which was really a shame. They obviously try to book in as many people as they can."

"Service was lovely: attentive, but not intrusive. The French onion soup had a delicious cheesy toast, but the broth lacked depth of flavor. Pale onion slices instead of amber richness from carmelizatikn. The chicken Tartine was oddly bland."

"Tertinery has a great ambiance - both romantic and energetic. We had a small table downstairs - the interior is very nice and the music was coll, too. The staff was extremely friendly. The crowd around us was French speaking as well that gave the atmosphere of being in beloved France.
We ordered a bottle of rose, a goat-cheese salad and 2 tartines - with tuna and duck. The salad was amazing, the duck tartine as well, the tuna was good, but I think there were better options on the menu.
We had a muffin for dessert - was too sweet to my taste, but otherwise a nice option.
The overall experience was very pleasant, and I enjoyed it a lot."

"Welcoming decor and atmosphere visible from outside.
Found parking right out front
My husband and I were greeted by three francophone men. We were offered a nice table for two.
Spacing between the adjacent tables was great. Server was very attentive and kind.
I recommend the Salads, Tartines, and Wine... Would have loved to try the Soups!

"The place looks bigger on the outside.....the food and bread is excellent, but the service is a bit lacking. Granted it was a busy night, but i'd imagine it was like that every saturday and for a restaurant in the area to have the expertise. I waited about 20 mins, after asking twice, to order my food...it was just a bit sloppy and unorganized. Would recommend if you're not in a hurry and have lots of time. Also, the hanging lights are annoyingly low so I hit my head against it a few times....be careful!"
