"Wonderful Steaks outside the big cities. Quiet unexpected. Food was fantastic all the way and the views over the bay and the bridge did not disappoint. Only drawback was the noise level which is a lot higher than at those club style steak houses."

"My daughter took me here for Mother's Day brunch. It is a beautiful place, right on the water! We were seated promptly. Our server was very friendly and attentive, throughout our meal. We both ordered the salmon omellette, which was delicious! It was a wonderful dining experience!!"

"Went with my wife and daughter on a Saturday evening. The room is glassed in on 3 sides with a great view of the bay. When the sun sets, the room is VERY low lit. You'll need your phone light to read the menu. We were greeted by our waiter who informed us of the 5 (!) menu items they were out of that evening. I ordered a single malt which, after waiting 20 minutes, I was informed they were out of. They brought the wrong bottle of wine. Apparently, 2 bottles shared the same bin. I ordered a $55 medium rare rib eye, and it came out medium well. It was edible, though tough. Spent north of $300 plus the wine for 3 of us and was very disappointed. Given the competition for fine dining in Newport, it will be a while before I return."

"Great overall experience in a wonderful setting on the Newport waterfront. Beautiful views of the harbor, boats, etc. Resturant is wonderfully appointed in every way. Entrees were fresh and tasty with adequate quantities. Only compliant was that the service staff seemed slightly confused at times, particularly with food delivery."

"Nice setting. Food was so so. My salmon was overlooked and lacked any substantial vegetable to round out the meal. The restaurant was almost pitch black. So dark we were unable to read the bill and needs to activate the screen light on our phones to sign the bill. Service was very nice."

"Four adults and two extremely well behaved children dining mid-week, off season with one or two other parties in the dining room and a few people in the bar. Fun, nice waiter, but he needs a little refresher in the memory course - or write it down! It was okay to not get the mashed potatoes, but the adult entree salmon (very generous and well prepared portion not finished by the six-year-old) should have been brought back for taking home as requested. Obviously not kid-friendly (they were "friendly" to the children but just not accommodating), how hard is it to keep a pound of pasta and a pot of water boiling just in case? Lobster bisque is very good but arrived lukewarm. Well prepared fresh ingredients. Profileroles the best."

"Food was delicious- steaks are amazing. And the restaurant is very trendy and beautifully decorated with a nice view of the harbor and the Newport Bridge. Only complaint was the slow service. Our waiter, Shane, was very pleasant and accommodating...but it took 2 1/2 hrs to have three courses served. And the bartenders seemed overwhelmed with filling the dining guests orders as well as trying to serve guests seated at the bar. All in all, I'd definitely go back for a special occasion."

"The room was VERY loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. I think it was just because of the table near us, but couldn't tell. The appetizer and entrees were outstanding. The dessert was only fair. The decor, location and view are terrific."

"This restaurant was absolutely beautiful! We went this past weekend (April) and although it was a little cool outside the views were breathtaking! We watched the sun set just over the water. Might be different when the boats are docked. The service was wonderful, it wasn't too loud and i also liked that the waitress wore an evening gown(different and fun).Only complaint- i ordered the short ribs after the waiter told me how much time was spent on preparing them-they were very fatty. (might have been a one time thing). My boyfriend got the salmon and he said it was delicious! Overall, i would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back sometime in the summer since there was an outside bar that looks like it would fun!"

"This was my first experience at Fourty 1 North and I couldn't have been more pleased. Dinning area is beautiful windows surround the seating area, every seat has a view! Service was friendly, personable not stuffy and snobish like some other dining expriences in Newport. Food was out of this world will defiantly be back in the summer to enjoy the patio seating. Fourty 1 North is a must stop in Newport RI"

"Beautiful restaurant right on the water. Waitstaff so friendly. Waiter uber friendly... There was someone always filling our water or attending to us which is nice, but it interrupted the flow of our conversation. Appetizers were fantastic (mussels and pork belly on grits) but they were bigger than entree which came undercooked. Had to send it back and then the puree that the scallops were on ended up being cold. Meal started off awesome though. I'd give it another try."
