The Laurrapin serves only the freshest organic products whenever possible as well as sustainable meat and seafood. We constantly seek out locally sourced ingredients, work with organic growers, and support sustainable processes and techniques. At the Laurrapin, it"s about finding the best ingredients from Harford and Cecil Counties and beyond. We're strong believers in knowing exactly where our food comes from, so that when you enter the Laurrapin, you'll know it too.
"Laurrapin offers a really exciting menu that features produce and meats from the local area farms and ranches. The food is incredible. It also has a very happening bar scene with live music on the weekends. The bar area is augmented with 10 4-top high tables with stools where you can also get meal service. That area is always packed, so make a specific reservation if you want to sit there. the back dining room is very nice in an odd shaped room (the building is 19th century architecture, I think...)"

"Let me say up front that the staff was fantastic, maybe the best in the area. The food for the Mother's Day brunch was prepared way to soon for the 4:00 seating. Everything was showing its age except the carving station, which was good, but the beef was not a great piece of beef. Still, the $100+ bill for two adults and two small children, with only a single beer on the tab, was ridiculous for what was available. Not even remotely worth it. Also, our table had an air conditioner blowing directly on it, freezing us and making our food cold. There shouldn't be a table there at all, it's just a torture spot. They offered to move us but we were already eating with the kids and it would have been very disruptive."

"Who knew an out-of-the-way place like Havre de Grace had a restaurant like this? All fresh ingredients plus cooking talent equals first rate eating. Naturally you'd like to try the crab cakes, because they're a Chesapeake Bay specialty, and I did. They were great, if a little pricey. But my wife had the stewed chicken, and it was terrific, too. I can only imagine their steaks, of which there were three choices the night we dined there, are pretty darn good, too. We both started with the Pear Gorgonzola salad, which might have been the best salad I've ever had, and finished with their fried banana dessert, another noteworthy effort. Soup to nuts, this was a great dining experience."

"Laurrapin Grille offered a quiet, casual room. The menu was varied and offered something for everyone. Many of the choices were great variations of typical restaurant food. The service was excellent and we were able to linger over our meal. A great long lunch!"

"We went there to dinner on a Sunday and were told that on Sunday they only serve their lunch menu all day -- no dinner entrees. It turned out to be fine because they have a fantastic lunch menu. I got the bison burger and it was amazing. My boyfriend and I also shared the spinach artichoke dip which was delicious. The wine list was great with a lot of inexpensive options. Our only complaint was that the red wine we ordered was a little warm and after a glass was poured for each of us we had to ask the bartender to put the bottle on ice for us so that it cooled off. That was my only complaint. Hannah (bartender) and Ashley (waitress) were both lovely."

"The Bison burger was very good, but the oyster po'boy was 'eh' at best. Too much breading and not "piled high" as stated on the menu. The service was great and it was fairly quiet, due to the lack of tourists for the time of year."

"We went for a work special event (Admin Day). There was 4 in our party. We were placed in a room that had another large group. the only complaint we had is that the other group was so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves. This made it very difficult to enjoy our colleagues. We pretty much sat in silence waiting for our food as when we attempted to talk we could not be heard."

"One of my absolute favorite places to eat. I usually go during the day for lunch because I am never dissapointed. So there is no surprise my husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary there on Friday. I tried new things which is hard for me to do because I love the Ahi tuna. I was not dissapointed. The sea scallops in their Bloody Mary mix was so delicious I was tempted to order a Bloody Mary to drink in order to keep from drinking my plate. I also had the eggplant with goat cheese. First place I ever had eggplant and liked it better than my own. I also ordered the pear and Gorgonzola salad and to me they make the best around. The only disappointment was the potatoe encrusted cod. It did not work. Needs more crispness."

"We shared the Ploughmabn's lunch (only one cheese--asiago--but it was good, as was the bread; delightful pickled carrot and special mustard). I had the shrimp-and-grits (made right! southern) and my son had mussels, I think. Anyway, by making a reservation we got a great table in the back room with a view of the river and excellent service. Lots of other small plates/apps we would have loved to share!"

"We were lucky to get a table, since when we got there, they did not have our reservation. Fortunately, I had a copy of my Open Table confirmation and reminder emails with me, so they too q bit of time, but did find us a table on a very crowded night. We were happy with their hospitality and the restaurant, but unhappy with open table, since the reservation did not get trough to the restaurant."

"Menu has been updated since my last visit. Dumplings were excellent. Flatbread had excellent tastes, but more of a pizza dough than a true flatbread."

"We started going to Laurrapin because the reputation for the craft beer list caught my eye. Now we go not only for the local and famous craft brews, but because the food is amazing as well. I love that they are all about the local business and it really is a great feel. The staff is so fun and always have something to offer about the menu. While it certainly isn't in the budget as a weekly night out, it has become a sort of tradition when I am in town to save our pennies and go."

"We are from Maine, and were visiting family in Baltimore. We wanted to meet friends from Wilmington, DE and determined that Havre de Grace was the mid-point. The restaurant turned out to be a fantastic find! We enjoyed the entire evening--food, drink and exploring the area. Thanks."

"I can not say enough about the Laurrapin Grille. If you think you have had a great meal and have not been here, you are kidding yourself. The local farm use as well as the incredible food will leave you wanting more and more. The home made Sangria is great and the creations that come out of the kitchen are mouth watering. From burgers to salads to entree's, there has never been a bad meal. Although I have know the owner/chef for years, this is not a biased review. Do yourself a favor and vist once and you will visit often."

"As always Laurrapin was excellent. Couldn't give it a 5 star, as it wasn't perfect. The table adjacent to us was LOUD, extremely. We found it hard to talk or hear much of anything either our friends or our waitress said."

"NY strip was amazing, the best steak I think I've ever had. The free form ravioli was really really good aswell, the only bad part was that it left a bad after taste in your mouth. Maybe it was the spinach, or whatever "root vegetables" they had inside it."

"I was in the area visiting relatives and took them to the Laurrapin Grille. We enjoyed an excellent meal, with patient, attentive service. I was impressed with the wine list and the great selection of microbrew beers. Next time in I am in the area, I plan to return."

"A Great place that we just discovered. Went there for lunch but will go back again for dinner and other meals. Located in Havre de Grace, Maryland, located in the downtown historic city area gave it a great feel, and the downtown is nice. And it is close to the water, so walking around before or after your meal will be good."

"My daughter is engaged to be married in June & we were thinking about using the Laurrapin for the catering. So the future bride & groom, my husband, and I wanted to sample what they offered as we had heard many good things. We had checked the catering possibilities before leaving, so we ordered many of them to share as appetizers, then ordered our meals. Everything, from the server, the drinks, food, etc, was very good. They definitely sold us & we will be using them for the reception. Great job!!"

"I have never been disappointed at the Laurrapin. My first time there was for NYE a few years ago, and it was incredible! This time, I only had the mussels and some wine, since it was too late for dinner. It was steamer night, and the mussels were probably the best I've ever had. I also had a phenomenal dessert [it was my b-day] and practically liked the plate clean. I would definitely recommend Laurrapin to others in search of a good meal that isn't downtown."

"This was our second visit to Laurrapin Grill. The first was fantastic. The food was great and the service was excellent. This time, however, we ended up sitting in the dining area instead of at the bar area high top tables. The table where we were placed was next to a huge bank of windows and being that it was below freezing outside it was extremely cold next to the windows. The heat was running but it was having a hard time keeping up. Once we were seated we waited a long time for service and only received it after saying something to the hostess. The food was good but not great and it may have been tempered by the poor atmosphere and service that we had experienced. I may go back but it will be a while and in warmer weather."

"We went here based on recommendations by others. The mussel appetizer was good, the veggies that accompanied our entrees were exceptional, and the banana dessert was outstanding. The entrees, however, were just OK. The puff pastry on the baked salmon dominated the flavor and my husband's T-Bone steak was just OK. We overheard another server provide some specials that we weren't told about so there's an opportunity for coaching. While we likely won't return for dinner we may, however, give lunch a try and / or the Sunday special."
