"This was my daughter's first Mother's Day and Pasta Trattoria made it very memorable. Our waiter was outstanding. For a buffet brunch the waiter went above and beyond with his service. When my husband's napkin fell off his lap the waiter was right there picking it up and putting it back on his lap. The food was very good. My daughter and I loved their salads and dessert. My husband loved the salmon in dill sauce, the sausage and cheese cake. I have been there several times for lunch and they never have failed in their service and food quality. My husband and daugther want to go back and try different items on their menu. The wine was also very good. We had a Wente Chardonnay that was very buttery which is how I like it. Fun place"

"I have been a long time resident of Pleasanton and when I had an out of town business client visiting I elected to dine here. Although the food was descriptions on the menu sounded flavorful the actual flavor fell well short. There were few pasta dishes listed and I was trying to figure out what the restaurant was trying to be, a steak house maybe? I found myself actually having to look for pasta on my plate. Alcohol prices were high for both wine and mixed libations.

Pricing was very expensive for the value from a pasta restaurant. I was disappointed. For this kind of pricing I would have walked around the corner to the steakhouse, spent the same amount for my party of 6, and had a better meal."

"The wine was extremely overpriced. A bottle of Riva Ranch Chardonay which sells for $12 in grocery store, was $45. That is almost 4 times the retail price. That is ridiculous. I can understand three times as much, but 4 is unheard of. I usually do not bring my own wine to restaurants, but I will definitely pay corkage fee and bring my own Riva Rance if I go back."

"The food as always was wonderful but the service was lacking! It was a busy afternoon in Pleasanton and there were only 2 waiters/waitresses. Our waiter was overwhelmed with customers and he forget sauce for calamari, no salt or pepper on table, did not offer us dessert or coffee. I love this place but they need to improve their wait staff!"

"Upon entering it looked great. Nice ambiance - it all started off fine. However it went south soon after our other 2 guests arrived. The server seemed more and more flustered as the night went on which made for an uncomfortable service. I and another friend went with the recommended waygu ribeye served with a potato au gratin and a few over cooked greasy asapargus spears. My friends meat was not med rare it was rare and who ever butchered the meat truly "butchered" it. It was bland no taste - the misto salad again no taste - it tasted of arugula with oil and a few walnuts. We spend a good amount of money for a very mediocre meal. I will not be going back and will not recommend this place."

"I was disappointed with Pasta's Trattoria. The beginning of the meal was wonderful - a complimentary amuse bouche and attentive waitperson. We ordered the crab cakes which were amazing. I ordered the caesar salad which was just okay. I ordered the chicken dijon which was inedible. It tasted like the chicken was frozen breaded chicken strips - very dry. The dijon part was as if the chef had placed spoonfuls of dijon mustard on the plate instead of actually creating the dijon sauce. I barely ate my meal. I was waiting for our waitperson to let her know. They had switched our waitperson without telling us and I never saw her again. I expected someone to ask why I hadn't eaten the meal, but no one did."

"On 2/16/13, our party of 5 arrived on time for 7p reservation. We were told we would need to wait 15 min. No problem. Another party of 5 arrived after us. They too had a 7p reservation. The owner came to acknowledge them as regulars. When a table opened up, the other group was seated ahead of us. The owner stated to us, 'we will put you at a better table'. Right. We were placed at a table by the frequently swinging front door and felt a cold draft every 2 minutes. Our waiter, Mateo, was polite, but very slow and inattentive. We ordered spicy mussels and clams as an appetizer but they were delivered after the main course arrived. Drinks were slow to arrive and be refilled. We will never return! Avoid this establishment!"

"We had a great dinner on Valentines day and enjoyed the special menu and all the balloons used for decoration. The owner also gave out chocolate roses to the women and a coupon to the men. All food items except for the small shrimp in the salsa had good fresh taste. The baby shrimp dry and had a stale flavor. But it was a minor bump in the road of an otherwise fabulous evening."

"We had an excellent Valentine Dinner, the restaurant couldn't have been better our only problem was the customer who was seated next to us. He was an extremely loud blowhard and felt the need to share his entire life history with everyone in the restaurant. Inviting other diners to come over and view his meal which was a bit uncomfortable as the tables were close together. It was extremely difficult for us to have our own private conversation."

"I have been to this restaurant several times and I always make a reservation to make sure I get a table. The five times I have been there they are always running late with their reservations and I'm always seated 30 to 40 minutes late.
I figured at one point they will get it right since I do like there food but eventually I will have to look for a different place if the reservations are never met."
