"The food was average at best, the flavor was lacking and it was a little cold. The restaurant wasnt too busy but for some reason, after taking our order, that was the last we saw of our waiter. The only employee we saw was the guy who filled our water glasses once and left. We finished our meal and the dishes sat in front of us for a while until the water guy took them. We did not see anyone else until some guy (owner, host, who knows) gave us the check and he wasnt even too personable. We paid and then walked away and took a walk on the waterfront. If it wasnt for the service and the "Just Average" food, I would have said it was the perfect place."

"The staff leading up to the restaraunt needs to be traded in, but the staff at the Gibraltar were sweet.Tasty food. They wrote "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate on my dessert plate :-)! Bill exceded $200 - which was fine w/ me b/c of the occassion. PORTIONS ARE SMALL(which I expected through experiences in fine dining)& the tip IS included. Good music. Other guests were dressed casual :-P. QUIET! I felt like I had to whisper. I reserved the table closest to the water but since it rained, I wasn't allowed to sit there - which worked out b/c from up close it just looked like a plastic backyard table/chairs.Water was the only ambiance (the far away buildings were ugly).Thankfully,the view from my table was just fine. Go w/ a date at least once."

"The view from the outdoor seating area is beautiful. Since it was a Monday night, it was empty so we were able to get an outside table....under cover so not too windy. Service was attentive and the waiter was well versed in wine as well as the menu. None of the fish entrees appealed to me so I opted for pasta and tagliatelle.. Although the taste was good, the tomato sauce was very heavy and the pasta over cooked. However, our other diners said their fish and lobster ravioli were tasty. Overal, nice setting and generally good but not outstanding food."

"Absolutely Love this place. The menu isn't overbearing nor is it "heavy" which is great for a date night. The wine menu is not overtly extensive nor expensive but has a very good selection. The view is great and if you're with a special someone request a table on the sea wall as it provides an ambient and private setting."

"service was very good although we have to wait 20+ minutes for our table despite we had a reservation. menu didn't reflect online menu, waiter brought us wrong appetizer and we were charge for it, main dish was ok, the sea bass was lacking some type of sauce and flavor was timid. they brought us some tim e aof plain creme brulee which the menu said it came with chocolate ganache and candied hazelnuts none of those items nowhere to be found."

"The service at the bar was inattentive and lax. I waited for the rest of the party there and this started things off on a bad note. The table service wasn't much better. The server didn't have much interest in being there as it was close to closing time and the busser tried to take a plate away before it was finished. There is a 20% service included which I adjusted accordingly since except for the food it was a poor dining experience. This is an expensive restaurant but doesn't have the same quality of the previous restaurant at Grove Isle. Don't expect much."

"The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice, but I definitely did not like that they added a 20% gratuity to our bill for a couple to dine. "The ambiance was outstanding. However, it is way too over priced for the quality of the food. Also, they charged a service fee of $5.00 , which i have not seen before. This in on top of a 20 percent gratuity, which was automatically added to the bill. This was done at the bar as well as the table. I usually tip 20 percent, but I feel that it should be at my discretion. I would not return even though it was a nice evening due to the view."

"Our experience was great. It was cold that night outside but still was romantic. I would suggest that they invest in the heaters for outside patios. But the food was good and the wait staff excellent. We did not notice that the tip was included and left the waiters an extra 20% tip on top of our bill. The waiter did come to tell us as we were leaving but my boyfriend opted to leave the extra tip. I would go back but probably for drinks and desert only. The food was great but very expensive. It would not be a place to go every week."

"Had been before for dinner while family stayed at the hotel, and recently went for brunch. One of the best bruches in Miami. Very good selection highlighted by seafood, sushi, and omeltes and crepes to order. Waiters were quite attentive, making sure our mimosa glasses and coffee cups were kept full.
It's not a cheap brunch at $55/person (plus $12 for valet), so maybe keep this for special occasions, but the water view is one of the best in Miami and the selection and quality of the food makes it worth it."

"it was truly a gorgeous night in Miami. The ambiance was perfect, all of the staff was very pleasant but our waiter could have been a bit more friendly. He wasn't bad but not great either. The view made up for it all. It was a bit dark so my iphone was a help. Very scenic and would go back. Better for a party of 2 so you can sit at the tables along the waters edge. Larger groups dont have the opportunity for the same view."

"I usually don't write reviews , but do read them to help decide on a restaurant , and in this case a beautiful evening was ruined by the Waiters attitude and rudeness . I have been here before and had a wonderful time with great service and food . However , this particular waiter who was working on feb . 1 at 8pm in the evening decided to reprimand one of my business partners when she asked to split the payment of her bill with two credit cards . He actually scolded her and went on and on about it even from across the room . Quite upsetting and embarrassing . There was no management around on this Friday night and it didn't seem like anyone was running the restaurant . Check reviews before going . Management should fire this guy."

"This is the perfect place to take someone special, but there are a couple areas I will highlight opportunities to improve. The location & atmosphere here are gorgeous. My girlfriend & I had a private table overlooking the bay & it being a cool night, the atmosphere was amazing. The tableservice was equally up to par. Our server was attentive, but not intrusive & much appreciated. the 2 areas of opportunity here are 1)1st impressions. There was no manager to greet & seat us so we waited a few minutes at the host stand and were seated by a waiter. The lack of a strong welcoming 1st impression was missing. #2)My seabass was not as fresh as it could have been. Overall great except for those 2 issues"

"First time visit; found on open table near to hotel that we were staying at in Coconut Grove. It was out of convenience, but having been there, I would now drive out of my way to go. We live in Naples, but frequent Miami and have many familly and friends there that we will recommend the restaurant to. One of the best restaurants we've been to - and we've been to alot! The service was great, from the hostess to the maitre'd and our server. The ambience was wonderful, would have preferred outside seating, but this area was already reserved and they tried to accommodate us. The food was incredible - from the freshest stone crab claws ever, delicious lobster ravioli (not in a heavy sauce)to a great healthy alternative meal! Loved it!"

"Wonderful experience, the entire staff made us feel like we were royalty. They made my daughter's birthday celebration a memorable one. Definitely a place to return to. Our main waiter, Antonio, was delightful."
