"Saturday 6PM visit: Avoid: risotto-did not like it (but he did eat it all). Recommend: pork cheeks, duck confit over lentils-NOT brussel sprouts, scallops are to die for, steaks excellent but choose saucing carefully to your liking. 3-course prix fixe offers numerous selections & some savings. Be aware-VERY NOISY-many are shouting to be heard - especially imbibers in bar-no noise screen, & noise level just keeps escalating. For youthful hearing, probably not a problem. Nice selection of wines by glass, excellent kir/kir royale. Service impeccable, other than wine arriving just a tad slow with our entrees. I've booked a table before our next 2 curtains at the Seattle Center. The food, service, and convenience keep me coming back!"

"Toulouse Petit Kitchen and Lounge should perhaps be renamed to Toulouse Lounge and Petit Kitchen? That might express the potential ying-yang experience of finding a sublime location and cuisine for a before-the-opera dinner but having to shout across the table to communicate with your dining partners, even in a booth somewhat removed from the cacophony of the ubervibrant bar scene! The food is worthy of any Seattle foodie, although someone might teach the chef how to cook octopus beyond (or before, depending on your technique) rubber; but, that was the only real spoiler. Probably any night will be a food delight, but those seeking an extended dinner-dialogue evening should perhaps always avoid happy hour and explore mid-week late evenings?"

"When I first moved to Seattle, I asked bartenders what restaurants they would recommend with a diverse but tasty menu. Toulouse Petite was the on several of the bartenders lists. The consistent recommendation was great to hear from those in the industry. My first experience was just drinks at the bar checking out the vibrate scene. The 2nd was dinner - their pre-fixe menu was suburb and hard to choose just one. The scallops are decandant and the jambalya is the perfect amount of spice and fixins. I have taken several friends to Toulouse and all rave about it."

"Dinner was great! We made reservations and at arrival, we were seated right away. The menu is seafood heavy which I loved. There's also a big selection of steaks and sides that I'll try next time. My party of 4 shared appetizers of mussels and fried green tomatoes. The mussels were tasty, and we used the bread to sop up the broth. The fried green tomatoes were unseasoned and weren't drained properly, I don't think I'll order that again. But the entrees dined and we forgot all about the tomatoes! I has the barbecue shrimp served on creamy grits. So good! The dessert menu looked diverse, but we were too full to try. We will definitely be back!"

"We had a party of 5. We were running late due to the construction, but they kept our reservation. Everyone found street parking without too much trouble, but they do have valet. We ordered from the prix fixe menu and all the food was good. The only thing to complain about was that 3 people got their main courses and the only 2 came out ~5 minutes later."

"My family from Vancouver visited Seattle for the first time in a while. My boyfriend and I chose to bring them to Toulouse Petit for dinner. We got our table right away since I reserved it. Our food was so good that everyone already talked about coming here again. It was very enjoyable. Our server was nice too. One of the servers brought us extra bread for the mussel, which was really nice."

"We always love coming here before a concert or show - great prix fixe menu and the food is always fantastic. The servers are often rather grumpy and slow, but that never seems to keep the crowds away. And the food is what always keeps us coming back."

"Oh my God, the food! Their selection was wonderful. I tend to dine with picky eaters, but there was something on the menu for everyone. I had the jumbo prawns, crawfish, and andouille sausage over creamy corn grits. PERFECTION! I can't wait to go back and try something else, because it all looked good. I believe the owner was the one who actually served us our appetizer - which was a really nice touch. Good food, good price, good atmosphere. I'm going to find any excuse to go back. Only thing that wasn't as stellar was the wait time on our drinks - took a little longer than I expected, but really, it's not that big a deal."

"I really enjoyed this place. I ordered from the $39 3 course from around 20 choices. I loved every bite and wondered if they had a garden in the back since it was so fresh. The style is New Orleans flavor meats Paris sophistication. They had live music on the Sunday I visited. It was fun but pretty loud. Great place that I will be back too soon."

"As usual when at Toulouse Petit, I had to be satisfied with three courses instead of the half-dozen that I'd LIKE to order, at the risk of being ridiculously over-full. But also as usual, my choices were excellent. The crawfish beignets were savory and perfect as a starter for two people. The Cajun meatloaf was exactly my idea of what meatloaf should be -- spicy and substantial without being overly dense. And the dessert beignets were sweet and chewy (pretty good for breakfast too!). Toulouse Petit continues to be a place that I can always count on for a very enjoyable dining experience."

"I discovered this gem of a restaurant about 2 years ago when I was visiting Seattle. The food, drinks and staff were all fantastic, even with an incredibly packed house that night. My Dad is 75 and loved the vibe of the place and still talks to me about the grits!
I recently dined at Toulouse Petit again, this time with co-workers and clients. I had hyped up the place to everyone and kept my fingers crossed that it hadn't lost any of it's charm and quality. I didn't think it was possible, but it got better! Our entire table was raving about the food, sharing bites off of each others plates and blissfully sipping on wonderfully paired wine.
I will eat at Toulouse Petit every time I'm in Seattle. I look forward to trying brunch next time."

"The food was very good, aside from the lamb ragu, it wasn't my favorite. It is very loud and you kind of have to yell everything, but the service was great. I did not like the table we were at, it seemed more like a table that was place in a spot that wasn't supposed to be there. Overall, I would of liked to be in a more intimate part of the restaurant, but the food was good and we look forward to trying some more dishes."

"Gordon Ramsay might say the menu's a bit big. However, we tried the 3-course tasting menu and overall, it was great. I had the dungeness crab soup with white truffle (that was excellent), the prawn salad, and the grilled half chicken with Tuscan marinade. The chicken was perfect -- seasoned, juicy, and worked very well with the marinade.
One other thing: the butter that came with the bread was sprinkled with sea salt, and it was phenomenal!"

"2nd time for me at Toulouse, very pleased that my somewhat-picky Mom & French mom-in-law were both very happy with their dinner. We were a bit early to a 5:15 reservation after Swan Lake, & they'd seated us right away. Service was very congenial, our server Niki very knowledgable and quick to make suggestions. I'd asked to "be suprised" by the chef for my order - whatever was currently his favorite. I'd recieved the filet mignon w/crawfish-tasso, 2nd most expensive menu item. Not sure if my "suprise" was potentially me being taken advantage of, but regardless, it was perfectly prepared & proportioned, increadibly tasty.
Downside: noise level. Toulouse is very lively during happy hours, only gets louder as the night goes on."

"NO parking, waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, crowded (Sunday evening?), VERY loud, AND, we had to deal with a panhandling man while we waited in the crowded foyer. Yep, guy just walked in and hit us up for dinner or a few dollars...with no problems from any staff. Not what I expected. The dark wood architecture was fabulous, arched high ceilings but CROWDED. The food was very good but the setting took away any chance of really enjoying the ambiance of the room or cuisine. Probably, very much of a neighborhood place. Don't go out of town to try it."

"This COULD BE an outstanding dining venue except for the fact that it is way too loud a place to enjoy great food and good conversation at the same time. There is absolutely NO REASON to crank up the music when the people noise of conversations should suffice in the lively environment. That said, the food is wonderful... so many delightful and delicious choices ... and the service of properly efficient and yet not rushed... just OUTSTANDING in every way. I would say that if your ears can take the noise and you have no fear of getting tinnitus, then go. Otherwise, sadly, you would best be advised to look elsewhere."

"Very loud! I would suggest sound panels on the ceiling.
Also, when I reserved my table I noted that it was my wife's 40th birthday. They did not acknowledge this.

"This was our 3rd visit to Toulouse Petit.
We absolutely love everything about this restaurant and our experience.
The Food is outstanding, service is first class, and the environment is "bistro-romantic" !
Even our children (aged 9 and 12), loved their meals, and are excited to return again.
I can't say enough good things about the food!.
Our server, Nicci, was a fabulous host, and was very knowledgable with the wines. The Emeritus Pinot Noir was fantastic- Thanks Nicci! The fried green tomatoes with dungeness crab is over the top amazing, to name but one reason to come back again, and again!.
This is always our first choice for a restaurant when visiting Seattle"

"Very lively and very loud. Our waitress was more interested in getting us to order beverages and moved so quickly that we couldn't tell her we were trying to make a play. Then she disappeared for 20 min so we had to order only one course and rush through it. Not a memorable night."

"We were most impressed with the staff, who dealt with our one week early reservation with skill and empathy since they were fully booked & had no chance of squeezing us in on a Friday night except in the bar area. They were absolutely wonderful and the hosetss in particular deserves a huge raise. My husband loved his gumbo, I loved my yellow beet, arugula, olive & caper salad - just excellent."

"Food was awesome and so was the service. It was much louder than I expected, and much less formal than other places in the same level of food and price. Am I disappointed? A little bit, we were celebrating our anniversary and I had a more romantic place in mind. Will I be back? Definitely, for the food. Next time, I'll just know what to expect."

"Huge menu, but as with such things, the kitchen doesn't do justice to individual items. I had a pasta with pork sugo that was nothing special. Another dinner partner had the half chicken--nice, but again nothing special. Service was friendly, but very slow, with long waits first to order, then for the appetizers to arrive, and again for the entrees to arrive. I marked the "recommend" button because I don't want to say I don't recommend it. But I probably won't be going back anytime soon."

"We had a beautiful evening. It was very loud so that is why I didn't give the ambiance a great review. I don't care for places that are so loud you can't talk to the person across from you. However, the food was fabulous! If they would just turn the decibel level down a bit I would go frequently. The Fix Price menu was exactly what we needed."
