The Baidwan and Malhotra families have been in Colorado for more than 20 years, and in 1998 they came together in their love for cooking to open Little India. Since that time, the two families have been serving Denver its most authentic fine Indian cuisine in a restaurant that has quickly become an area favorite. After all, there is a reason Little India has been named "Best Indian Restaurant" and "Best Lunch Buffet" by local critics and Denver patrons for the past 11 years. The sense of authenticity is undeniably evident in Little India's atmosphere, where Indian art and music accent the 90-seat, casual dining room. Then there's the food. Chef Daljit Singh who began his career in northern India, uses only the freshest meats and ingredients and is known for mixing his own signature curry. A friendly, charming staff rounds out the dining experience at Little India, an experience that mingles exotic and simple tastes to unforgettable effect.
"Disappointing night at Little India. Waitress doesn't come by for quite a while, she shows up and asks, "Do you know what you want to eat?" I had to ask what the special was. After telling her our order and our wines, she left, came back a minute later with some obviously pre-made, not very warm samosas. Asked for our wine, which still wasn't delivered. We finished our appetizers and dinner arrives, still no wine, ask again for the wine. We keep eating and other than some woody vegetables & she not asking which rice did we want (we got white, wanted saffron), a pretty good meal. See waitress walking around and I stare at her, indicating we would really like our glasses of wine. 3/4's in, we get wine, no apologies. Young waitress needs work."

"Great food, but a bit pricey when you get charged extra ($3.95) for an order of rice. I wish the server had pointed this out, as my husband and I could have shared an order of rice."

"Little India is one of our favourite restaurants, we've been dining here ever since they opened about 14 years ago. We love their korma and biryani and kabli naan. Normally everything is great at LI, though this particular visit one of the wait staff spilled a beer on one of our party and was pretty slow to get a towel to clean it up and didn't offer her another beer or offer to not charge us for the beer. Hmmmm.... I know they were busy, but come one folks, please don't let your restaurant's service take away from your awesome food!"

"The food was excellent - possible some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Sadly, we visited on Valentine's Day and found Little India to be under-staffed, over crowded and over-booked. We made a reservation and still waited over 30 minutes for our table to be available. I had to ask repeatedly for items, fresh papadams, a glass of water. The ambiance was nice enough, however sound levels were outrageously DEPLORABLE. I would definitely recommend the food, but not the restaurant. Maybe try takeout only..."

"The food was excellent and the service couldn't be better. I'd definitely recommend this Indian restaurant and the lamb biryani and the onion kulcha!"

"The ambience at Little India has improved steadily over the years, with the permanent enclosure of the front patio and other improvements. It is now comfortable in all areas, but not elegant. We (3)were in a cozy corner on a cold Monday evening. We had live sitar music by a very personable expert (he's there Mondays and Wednesdays). The menu is extensive and we have never experienced any but excellent quality. They offer a good variety of naans, including the dessert bread Kabli naan, stuffed with cherries, nuts, and other goodies (don't miss it). Servers were very friendly and helpful, but left us a little long toward the end. Little India is a terrific place for a special occasion with a small number of guests."
