Mount Vernon and Seton Hills only wine bar and lounge. Serving Mediterranean cuisine, vegetarian, daily specials and the best wines and cocktails in town. We are extremely popular for several reasons. Our proximity to all the popular theaters: Hippodrome, BSO, Lyric, Centerstage and all the independent theaters in the area. Our wine selection is made affordable to everyone. Diners are able to choose from over 100 flavors of wine, dozens of international beers and Mediterranean cuisine.
"We had tickets to a concert at the Hippodrome and wanted to dine somewhere reasonable close before the show. Web site looked good, menu looked good, and we could be there in time for Happy Hour. Happy hour drinks were priced right and the happy hour hors de voures were great. Our waitress was friendly from the moment we walked in and responded to all of our requests without any hesitation. The menu made a dinner choice tough as there was a good variety to choose from. We each made the right decision and our meals were perfect. We left filled and tuned up for a good concert. Will definintely go back there again, concert or no concert."

"We had the vegetarian delight (which has falafel, fried artichoke hearts and dolmades) and the the hariki village dish (lamb chops, fried calamari and grilled veg). The lamb was the best, it was well seasoned and properly done. The tzatziki (goes with the lamb) was also good.
The calamari was fairly crispy, but the tzatziki didn't go well with the calamari. It would have benefitted from something more acidic. Or perhaps just being plain grilled with lemon juice.
The falafel was good but not awesome.
The artichoke hearts were lightly breaded, and served with a chipotle mayo. Chipotle isn't really Mediterranean, but it was good enough.
The dolmades were acceptable.
Overall, I would say the food was good but not great."

"Waterstone is my favorite restaurant in Baltimore. The owner and the staff have created a warm environment that feels as comfortable as your favorite sweater with an air of easy sophistication. The food is excellently prepared and the flavors blend naturally. We had an assortment of tapas. The Dolmades are amazing. We also had the lamb chops, steak points, steak tips, asparagus, artichokes, mac and cheese and a dessert. I would recommend every one of the small plates. I highly recommend Waterstone."

"We had anther wonderful dinner before going to the theater. The owner Lisa Waterstone makes sure that everything is perfect. She makes it a point to stop at every table in the restaurant to ask if everyone is happy. The bartender mixes up a mean drink! Whatever you want, they will accommodate you. Keep it up Lisa, We will be back soon!"

"Nice quiet restaurant with a small bar and dining room. Food was very good--we really enjoyed the house chicken wings and the tapas. Their fine spirit selection is limited, but then again its not really that kind of place. Wine list small, but it has a good selection. The service was wonderful. Our server April was very pleasant and definitely made the experience a memorable one.
Overall, the dining experience was fantastic. Its a nice place for a quiet romantic dinner."

"Not what you would expect from the website. Nice bar, but only about 5 tables. Two parties were finishing up, otherwise, we were the only guests in the place on a Sunday evening. So why was the calamari crunchy but barely warm? The lamb chops were not top quality. The servers were friendly but not attentive. Maybe this is a hot place for a drink late at night, but I wouldn't recommend it for dinner."

"Everything was slightly off. The pork chop was slightly overdone. The sun-dried tomoato was like leather. It was just an off night. But an off night at Waterstone is significantly better than most restaurants achieve on a good night."

"We were there on a Wednesday night before the theatre. Food was amazing, such a unique take on some good old comfort food. There was only one other table so I'm not sure why service was slow.
Definitely going back, but will allow more time to sit & enjoy!"

"My fiancee and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Water Stone. For being Valentine's day the service was quite good; our drinks came quickly and were seldom empty and the food was incredible. I had never been there before this past Valentine's day and was very impressed. I suggest you order the pork chop dinner, it is amazing."

"We went for Valentine's day so the menu was slightly limited. All the food was very good. We're planning on returning on a Wednesday for their half of wine bottles."

"A surprising little neighborhood gem at Howard and Madison. Very nice atmosphere, helpful wait staff. We went on a Tues. and they were out of several wines on the list but otherwise, everything was great. Prices are moderate and very good value for the excellent food. A Greek touch to dishes with excellent marinades. We had the lamb chop dinner with fried calamari and that was delicious, as was the cornish game hen with orzo and vegetables. We'll definitely be back and recommend to friend."

"The menu was interesting. Looked like a decent place to hang out with friends (as a bar). My colleague and I were, however, disappointed with the food served (but we realize we had a high expectation of the place)."

"The decor is cozy with charm. The food is a mixed bag. Some of it is bland and unimaginative, such as the tomato salad and pita with cucumber dip. Other things are good, such as the salmon, pork chops, and baklava. One thing was excellent, the falafel."

"I came here with some friends for restaurant week. The food was good. It would have been nice if the restaurant week menu had more than 1 vegetarian main entree option. My friends said the meat dishes were a little dry. Appetizer and desserts were delicious. We had a very large group and the servers were very accommodating."
