django's Restaurant & Wine Bar
django's is a locally owned restaurant at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, gaining national attention for its seasonal menu of globally inspired small plates. This culinary adventure offers a fun dining experience best shared with friends: the plates are brought one at a time, for everyone to taste up to 25 different selections on the weekly menu. The wines are served by quartino (250ml) carafe, to allow for pairing and sampling across an extensive list focused on European and South American wines. The interior is elegant yet casual, offering seating in booths or banquettes, at low or high tables, and at the dining bar overlooking the kitchen. If you prefer dining outdoors, grab a table on the courtyard patio, where you'll hear live music on Thursdays.

"The small plates allow for a tremendously varied meal (biggest hits with our group were mussels, Brussels sprouts, mushroom strudel, duck leg, scallops, beet salad. Shrimp risotto was the only less-enthusiastically received dish--a bit bland) especially with a bigger group. Service was friendly & efficient. Cocktail & wine (a suggestion from our server) also excellent."

"This restaurant has excellent food - but it's far from your typical ski town type of restaurant and produces food very slowly. We waited almost one hour for the main part of the meal to arrive (steak frites) with no acknowledgment from the staff that the process of receiving our food was slow and poorly executed. One of the tapas we ordered was a flatbread - clearly something that should have been at our table early - but it finally arrived when we receiving our steak. At the table next to us, they received their flatbread at an appropriate time - at the beginning, rather than the end of the meal. We understood that with tapas the food arrives as it is produced - but almost an hour for a flatbread?"

"Django's offers the opportunity to taste an amazing variety of wonderful food. I always try something new when dining there and I have never been disappointed. I am still dreaming of the quail I ate on Saturday night! With a group or just two, Django's is delicious and innovative without ever being fussy. It is clearly the best restaurant in Crested Butte because of consistently great food, quality service, and reasonable pricing. A must do!"

"We had our Valentine's Day dinner at django's and were completely blown away by the excellent service and great tasting food. Keep in mind django's is a tapas dining experience so all of the plates are smaller in size but they are loaded with wonderful flavors. The waitstaff is very knowledgable and were all extremely helpful. They also have a good selection of wines that won't break the bank. Make sure you save room for dessert - the chocolate cake was amazing! We spent $100 on four plates a bottle of champagne and dessert for 2 people including tip so although it is a little expensive the flavor and atmosphere more than makes up for it. We'll definitely be back next time we're in CB."

"As my husband said at the end of the meal, "this is one of the best experiences we've had at a restaurant in years". From the moment you walk in the restaurant, you are greeted by warm, friendly staff, from the hostess, owner, waiters. Both of the husband and wife team of owners were there that evening, and were a big part of the evening...stopping by to see how things were going, sharing sources for amazing food items, and just generally making us feel welcome. The menu was extremely creative and unique and the flow of food to the table is perfection. We found ourselves dissecting every dish trying to figure out how they created so many layers of complexity - AMAZING. If you are in Crested Butte - do not miss this restaurant!!!"

"We ski at Mt. Crested Butte every year, and we make sure to make our reservation for Djangos at the same time we book our room. The meals we have there are the highlight of our ski weekend! The small plates are prepared beautifully, with top notch ingredients and flavors that meld perfectly."
