"A very nice atmosphere, but the food was only adequate and the drinks were fairly expensive. I would not schedule a return visit, but it probably is a nice Mother's Day brunch destination for an older crowd."

"Terrible food from first to last. Don't know how they stay in business.daughter had gnocchi which looked and tasted like made with Cambell's tomato soup. I had totally dry and tasteless boar chops and my wife had pasta with seafood. How does an Italian restaurant mess up pasta!"

"I have visited Le Castagne several times over the years and have always been impressed with the quality of the food, the elegance of the room and the competence of the servers. It has usually been fairly empty at lunch as it is a little off the normal restayurant scene, but it delivers really good food at reaonable prices and has been around a long time, so it must get busy at other times. It's especially appropriate if you want a quiet place for either a romantic meal or a business lunch. I had the tomato soup and gnocchi and both were excellent. I did not have dessert thsi time, but have had it in the past and they were well made and fresh."

"We had dined at Le Castagne a few years ago and remembered it to be enjoyable. We were so happy to have tried it again. The food was excellent. The veal chop was outstanding and the Soul delicious. I did find the pasta sauces a bit heavy, but still enjoyable.
The service was fabulous! Our waiter was as professional and extremely personable.
We will visit Le Castagne again."

"This was the third time in Le Castagne. We won't be going back. Service was horrible, no welcome, waiter must of had a bad day, best person was the table side filleting of the fish. Food was cold by the time it got to the table. Management was serving in a really cheap suit. Management serving? Get it together or I can see an end coming soon! Plenty of great restaurants in the area!!"

"We went here for Valentine's day and I was a little concerned we might be rushed out s the only reservation we could get was 5:45. I couldn't have been more wrong. Our service was perfect and the food was very nice. We will return."

"We went there for lunch. The food was wonderful, particularly the beet salad with goat cheese mousse appetizer. But the service was horrendous and spoiled the experience. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, the service was extremely slow and we were never even offered a wine list until we finally asked for it after we finished the appetizers. After giving us the wine list the server did not come back and we had to get her back. I would think twice about going back again because of the very poor service."

"Food was WOW! My 10 year olds even gobbled what they ordered. And the chocolate lava dessert was worth the wait. Service was timely, polite and knowledgeable. We would recommend it."

"Food was tasty, service was attentive and courteous, and decor was beautiful. I don't usually eat gnocchi but these were light and delicious. The canned music was too loud and did not add to the ambiance but they turned it down upon request. Overall, I thought the menu was too pricey for frequent visits."

"It took a while to get a waitress. The wine steward came to open table to open our wine, and never acknowledged us, which we thought that was weird. Thats the only thing our waitress was nice, it was very busy. The food was very good."

"Went for lunch during restaurant week. Great choices, everyone was happy. Usually, I like a nice timely-passed meal, but not on my lunch break; don't expect to be there for less than an hour."

"My friend and I went for restaurant week. We ordered the pork loin and the gnocchi, both of which I regularly eat. It was heavenly. I firmly believe it was the most tender pork I have ever had, and it was beautiful. My friend described the gnocchi as "pillows of love." We really appreciated how every dish was beautifully served, as some restaurants skimp for Restaurant Week."

"Attended with a friend for Restaurant Week. The food was wonderful! They seated us at an isolated table by request, with no hassles, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely return again."

"Amaaaaazing food!!! The service was a little bit slow, but the waiters were all extremely polite, and when there was a mix-up with the kitchen regarding the sauce on a pasta dish, they remade the dish within minutes (and let us keep the extra dish). Can't speak to a la carte prices since we were there during Restaurant week, but I appreciated that they didn't skimp on portions for the special menu. The gnocchi with white truffle sauce was heavenly, and the steak was....one of the best I'd ever had. Dessert was probably the weakest course, but still really delicious."

"We arrived at 8:10 for an 8:15 reservation but were not seated until 8:30.We were directed to the bar where it cost 29.02 for a glass of prosecco and a glass of malbec. Much too expensive for 5oz pours of relatively inexpensive wine.We were seated at the very back of the restaurant immediately adjacent a door used by the servers to enter the kitchen with a wall blocking my view. Obviously there was a lot of traffic. My date enjoyed her appetizer and main course but I was a little less enchanted. I ordered a beet salad which was without a doubt the smallest beet salad I have ever had. In fact, it was meager at best. Four slices of beets about as thin as a piece of lunch meat. My main course was wild boar which was somewhat tasty."

"Beautiful restaurant. Food was delicious. The "restaurant week" lunch menu has a large variety of choices, unlike most other center city locations. Amazing value. Loved it!"

"Took a couple clients here for lunch and we were seated immediately as we did have a reservation. The restaurant was full and then I remembered it was restaurant week and this restaurant was participating with a 3 course $20 lunch. The deal was great, the appetizers were ok as was the dessert. Our main courses were very good. Service wasn't even satisfactory. There were only 2 servers working and they forgot about us until we waived one of them over after waiting for 30+ minutes to get menus and put in a drink order. We had been there one hour before our appetizers came out which were only salads. We didn't have time to eat our desserts so we got them to go. I heard other people complaining. Needless to say I will not go back there."

"Exquisite food and impeccable service. One minor surprise . . . the servers were unfamiliar with the Open Table check that I used as part of the payment. They were very gracious but took some time to make inquiries."

"Dining room is lovely. Food was very good. It was restaurant week so the choices were limited. I'd like to try it again with the full menu. We liked what we ordered but had trouble finding items we were interested in."
