"We go to Estes Park every year for our anniversary. This was our 40th anniversary! We love this restaurant. If you want great, personal service, superb and outstanding food and atmosphere out the wazoo, this is the best place I know of in the United States! The views from here are marvelous if you love looking at God's wonderful creations, scenic and animals! The steaks are great, the burgers are delicious and huge, the vegetables are extremely tasty, not bland and blah, and the Crème Brule is to die for!! We have been to this restaurant every time we go to Estes Park, twice on this trip, and have never been disappointed. Love, love, love it! All out 10 in our books!! These Texans love it!"

"Excellent restaurant, great diverse menu, worth the short drive from downtown Estes Park. The waiter recommended we try the elk, and it was delicious, as was the buffalo, steak and beef. Great appetizers and desserts as well. Pricey, but worth it."

"We thoroughly enjoyed everything at Twin Owls from start to finish.
The owner (Thad), is charming and you can see that he wants to deliver the best of everything to those dining at this warm and beautiful restaurant . Our server was amazing, had great suggestions, and was very attentive. We did not have to ask for a thing.

Our meals were fabulous! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Elk Kabob appetizer and short ribs with sweet potato purée. I had a wonderful beet salad with mandarin oranges, walnuts, goat cheese and tasty greens. The duck was outstanding! There is also a lovely selection of wines and beers
I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates fine and wonderfully prepared food and outstanding service."

"This restaurant is in an old building where the floor shakes as the staff moves around. The acoustics are not the best. The solo guitarist playing at dinner time helped temper the noise and was a pleasant addition.
The food is a bit pricey, but it is well prepared and there are a number of choices ranging from prime rib to game. There is a small selection of lower-priced items to choose from (pizza, sandwiches). The wine list is fine, and we found a California red we'd never had that was very good. The waiter was very attentive - almost too much so.
Twin Owls is a good choice for a nice evening out with a partner or friends. There is a separate bar, but as we had reservations and were seated right away we did not go in."

"The food was good but not spectacular. I had the chicken (not the stuffed one). The best part was the mushrooms and the vegetables. The chicken was good. Wine was good. Wait staff was excellent. The mushrooms were memorable! James Davis really set a relaxing mood and made the experience feel special."

"The bed and breakfast we were staying at recommended Twin Owls to us and luckily told us to make reservations. So, if you want to eat at this great place while in Estes Park, make sure you get reservations. We were there in off season (April), so we called a few days in advance were able to get a table at 7 PM. The food was delicious. It had a nice selection of Colorado wild game. The serve was excellent. The Twin Owls is great for a very nice dinner out while in Estes Park."

"Twin Owls was a wonderful experience. We had to delay our reervation by an hour and they were extremely flexible. They made special arrangements for our 25th anniversary with free champhange and dessert. The food was outstanding, the wait staff knowledgable and gave just the perfect amount of attentiveness. Highly recommend!"

"The Brie en Croute appetizer was the highlight of the night.Excellent food and ambiance. On a rainy evening, the crackling fire created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and the "yard", which made dining enjoyable with our two little children, who were more than welcome in the casual dining room. With tables placed far enough apart, our children were not bothering any other diners. The kids menu was appropriate and more healthful than most. The Filet MacGregor was good and the Black Canyon chicken was good; not exceptional. The wait staff and timing of courses were excellent! The price, very reasonable for the quality of food. I would recommend."

"When we chose to make a Twin Owls reservation, it was last minute. We were lacking a reservation for dinner and so I just typed some stuff into google and got Twin Owls. I am so glad I chose to go there. The food was phenomenal, and though it was a bit pricey, it was an absolutely perfect place for our romantic evening out."

"I had the duck. It was dry and the cherry sauce was too thick and not particularly good. The onion soup that I had for a starter was good. Their wine listings were moderatley priced and the Pinot Noir that we ordered was excellent. My wife had a small cearsar salas that she said was good but the lamb she ordered was also dry and didn't tast like lamb, although it clearly was. It just didn't have much flavor. We had a table by the fireplace and although it was crowded you could easily hear yourself talk."

"A disappointing experience and it will be a long time before we ever return. Our appetizer was very good but our meals were nothing short of mediocre. The filet was tasteless and on the verge of being overcooked and the elk medallions were definitely overcooked. They did offer to recook the medallions but the experience is ruined when one person has to eat or their food will get cold and the other waits for another plate. Thought we should have been reimbursed for one meal but all we got was "sorry"."

"Take the waitstaff's suggestion on the elk tips, never would have ordered them but they came in the appetizer sampler and they were awesome! My husband ordered the lamb and it wasn't trimmed very well, which could just be a personal preference thing but it was really fatty. I had the 4x4 which was a lobster tail and a steak. The steak was good, but was smothered with a lot of sauce and cheese. The green chile cheddar potatoes my husband got were fantastic, but my rosemary potatoes were very dry. Overall I think for the price I expected a little better, however service and ambiance were excellent! Very helpful waiter with lots of good suggestions."

"This place is a very nice restaurant with good food. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary and we had a very good waiter, can't remember his name but do know he was Russian, and he was very tentative and prompt with everything we needed. We had the House steaks and they were delicious! I would come back the next time we are in the area."

"I had really been looking forward to this but found my experience disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the server was awesome and my husband loved his burger. It was my own meal that was very subpar. I ordered their specialty steak, which being a steakhouse one would think should be phenomenal. The bernaise sauce was so thick on it it was nauseating. I ordered my steak well done, about two cm in it was already medium, another half inch in was completely rare, I asked the waiter if he could have them recook it and he immediately took it back but it came back to me cooked a bit more but the center was still rare. My roasted new potatoes we over seasoned and rock hard. I will not be going back."

"Twin Owls Steakhouse really takes care of their guests. Our waiter was amazing and really took care of my boyfriend and I. Our order was accidently messed up but he took care of us and made sure our night wasn't ruined (which it wasn't - everything on that menu sounded great and so even with our order being messed up, we ended up eating a delicious meal). The rest of the staff was great as well, and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. We will definitely be back (and bring the whole family) to this Estes Park gem!"

"Great food and ambiance. A old rustic log cabin, clean and very nice. Loved the feeling we had eating there. Had a table by the big fireplace. Bartender was very friendly and fun while waiting for our table. There are a couple of tables up on the loft that are private and look down on the main dining room. They look like a good spot for a romantic dinner."

"This was my and my wife's first visit to Twin Owls. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's there. The service and food were very good. It is a good alternative to (and away from) downtown dining. The steaks were very good. I'd recommend it and would return."

"hmmm, very mixed about this place. We went on Valentine's day and while our meals were good they just weren't great and especially for the price. I had duck and the sauce was a bit heavy. The veggies had a strong bell pepper flavor and for people who are not big on bell pepper they were very overpowering. The sweet potato puree was also very sweet, too much so for my taste. Hubby had fish and it was done nicely with delicate texture and not overcooked. Not sure how fresh it was though as it had a strongish fish smell that is very non-typical for cod which should have a sweeter smell. Anyway, all was presented nicely with good service and cooked properly. So my mixed review has much to do with my personal preferences."

"It was awful. Our waitress and management treated us like we weren't even there. After 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our drink order, we finally flagged down a hostess who got us our drinks. I've had better frozen TV dinners. Food was awful, I wouldn't recommend."
