"We had a fantastic experience for my gf's bday. The Tuna Tartare and the oysters were fantastic although I had to ask for horseradish and cocktail sauce rather than them bringing it automatically.
The only real complaint I had from the night was that my veal cut was completely overcooked. I ordered it med rare and it came as though they had just taken it out of a beef stew. The individual slices served with the larger piece were fantastic though.
The staff was great, made it very special, recommended a great wine for us and even spelled out "Happy Birthday Catherine" on her desert.

"Special dining experience. You can menu pick a la carte - standard would be the 3 course fixed price menu ($69) or the multicourse tasting menu ($129). A bit pricey, but worth it. The cheese cart can be the dessert course or often a la carte, and is a must. My wife and I actually started with the cheese, sharing her portion that we included as her dessert course of her fixed price meal. Was wonderful. We found the fixed price menu to fill us but not overwhelm us. I had the lamb leg - with three types of preparation - and found the sausage preparation to be unusual, unique, and outstanding. She enjoyed the gnochi as her first course, a signature dish, and the halibut. Service was excellent but slow for me - 3 hr meal. Overall outstanding."

"Service was absolutely excellent. I had mixed reviews for the food, however. The mixed greens salad was boring, but the appetizer and mid-course meals were tasty. I was not impressed with the main course meal, and my husband found his main course (a medley of veal cuts) to be dry and boring. All portions of the dishes were very small. The two deserts of ice cream and tres leches cake was an utter disappointment. Why would a restaurant serve broken up bits of cake with processed cherries and then charge $21 for it? Also, how could 3 small scoops of ice cream possibly be $21? Overall, while No. 9 Park is a cozy place, with great service, I didn't think the food and the overall experience justified the price tag."

"We found this restaurant to be exceptionally pleasant in every way. The warm welcome, beautiful food, extremely good service together with the ambience of the restaurant with its' gentle lighting and soft background music made for an extremely enjoyable dining experience. My husband loves his wine and No. 9 has a very extensive and very good wine list which made choosing a delicious wine to accompany our food very easy. For starters I chose the tuna crudo and my husband the green and white asparagus, both were sublime. For our main course we both chose the halibut which was superb. We finished with a great cheese selection and port. A wonderful restaurant indeed."

"It was enjoyable and good. The appetizer- spring pea ravioli was superb and the deesert- chocolate mousse was excellent. I chose the duck and was not that impressed as it was tough and hard to cut. The service friendly and not stuffy. We went before the theater and I think it was a bit rushed to go to a place that only offers a three course meal option."

"Highly over rated. The bar did not stock the southern comfort my husband drinks with his manhattan. We placed our order and then saw the table next to us had a nights special on their menus. We had to wait often for our server. The prix fixe menu was too expensive for the food we were served. This was our last evening in Boston and we were really disappointed."

"Excellent food. The thing I appreciated most was the service. We told them we needed to be at the theater on time. They gave us a running update on how long everything would take and invited us tome come back for dessert, part of our prix-fixe package, after the theater. Couldn't have been better. Complete opposite of a recent experience at Locke-Ober, which ignored our requests and couldn't even bring the check in less than ten minutes."

"My husband and I had a perfect dinner one recent Sunday night. We each had the pasta tasting and each course was better than the last! They incorporated fresh spring ingredients into every course which meant that everything was very fresh tasting and lighter than traditional pasta fare. Delicious! The service was amazing. All of the waitstaff were professional, prompt, and courteous, but still low key. Not pretentious at all as they are in similar restaurants. Overall a great experience- would highly recommend."

"Staff was warm and welcoming after the terrible tragedy that the City of Boston had just suffered. We felt very fortunate that we were able to find some solice and peace in the environment of No. 9 Park. The cozy atmosphere made it feel like home. "We had two waiters, Matthew and an Asian girl who's name I can't recall(because they aren't supposed to introduce themselves which I find odd.)He was dreadful and had it not been for her he would have ruined the experience completely (which is why I only scored good on service The food of course was delicious, we had the 7 course with the wine flight and the cheese supplement at the end. We experienced and "orange" wine for the first time which was very interesting but in general all of the wines were lovely - FYI if you are more of a RED fan than white they will re-pair w/all reds if requested even with the fish dishes, I am a true believer of red wine w/fish so I would have done so had I known, maybe they could mention it somewhere/how."

"We arrived at the restaurant just shy of our reserved time and were directed to a waiting area where a wait person offered us a beverage menu. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and the courses. We selected the Chefs menu which consisted of seven tapa like portions presented in white dishes with some garnish. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. This is a pricey restaurant with a fine wine list offered in half bottle portions. the wait staff was eager to assist in the selection of a sparkling wine for us. It was a wonderful experience."

"Every dish we ordered had one thing wrong with it. The asparagus appetizer was fine, but the morels were chopped so finely that they got lost. The duck was delicious, but the canele and artichokes were overcooked. The halibut as good, but the breadcrumb crust was tough. Too many buts for a restaurant of this caliber."

"Great food and excellent service. We ordered from the 3-course prix fixe menu ($67) and were pleasantly surprised when they threw in a 4th course (crusted mahi-mahi before the entrees); it felt like a good value given the quality of the food and the length of time we were able to linger over dinner (about 3 hours). We were celebrating two birthdays in our group, which they knew because they had asked about any special occasions when calling to confirm the reservation; they also presented the desserts with a candle and happy birthday (name) written on the plates. Will be going back!"

"Disappointing meal: skate (isn't that the fish that is usually tossed back in the sea?) Server replaced with another option (cavatelli) that was enjoyed overall, but it was very salty. The other person I dined with is a heavy salt user, but she did not need to ask for a salt shaker for either the appetizer or her meal. Fois gras was lovely. Dessert was just okay. Glad I finally had an opportunity to dine here, but I shall not return. By the way, although we had reservations, we were seated in the bar area instead of the dining room. It was crowded and compact.
Service was the highlight, and the bread basket choices were enjoyed."

"We had the Chef's tasting. The dishes were good and certainly unique but I was somewhat disappointed. I thought there would be a number of things I'd say I have to go back for. I can't think of any. After dining in Provence last year maybe my expectations were too high? One positive note is that the service was exceptional. Very thoughtful staff who anticipated needs."

"We had an early dinner in order to make a 7:30 curtain for a performance a few blocks away. The staff of 9 Park was incredibly accommodating, agreeing to let us come back after the performance to finish our meal (we had ordered dessert, but didn't have time for it). Apparently, no one had ever asked to do this before, but it didn't phase them a bit, and they were very welcoming when we returned at 10 p.m.; every staff person came over to our table to say hello. And we had an enjoyable additional hour there, eating our dessert and drinking. We enjoyed is so much, we came back again for dessert the next night after another performance."

"My husband and I went to No. 9 Park for dinner to celebrate closing on our first home. It couldn't have been more perfect. Our waiter, Joe, was knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, and attentive. We could not have asked for better service. Everyone from the hostess to the manager to our waiter to the "busgirl" was lovely and incredibly efficient and on top of their game. Impeccable service aside, the food was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect and everything was prepared thoughtfully and creatively. Husband had mackerel and duet of duck, I had beets and steak, shared the cashew nougat dessert. We left satisfied and almost pampered. We cannot wait for an occasion to return!"
