"Me and my husband are both fans of BLT restaurants. And this one is not an exception. The popovers are just fantastic. I normally skip the bread but those one are really delicious. But be careful with them and the appetizers because you need to keep some place for the stake.The porterhouse for two was great. And you should definitely try their potato skins as a side dish.
And something else - tables are big enough for everything. I mean that the normal size of tables in NYC is really compact and there is not enough place (in my opinion as a visitor from abroad). But in this restaurant everything is the right size."

"If you want a perfectly done steak, filet mignon, etc. come to BLT Prime. The service is superb. The staff very accommodating and the bartenders excellent. Modern atmosphere, noisy crowd, dark interior and nicely decorated."

"Dinner by myself. For someone who does not eat so much, going to a steakhouse in the US has a key limitation; the portion sizes are unreasonably large. A bowl of baby spinach salad, though delicious, could have served three easily. Didn't like the thought of looking at a piece of 22 oz boned in rib eye in front of me, so went for the so called "Kobe Wagyu" top cap (10 oz) for $81. While this may be beef from a Japanese breed cattle raised in the US, it's nowhere near the tenderness of real Wagyu in Japan which I am very familiar with. My advice is to avoid the "Kobe Wagyu", whichever cut."

Cons: Seated too close to other tables. No way to have a conversation without it being overheard by customers on both sides. I do understand they want as many tables as possible. Very loud making it hard to hear."

"I took a friend here, his 1st time, for his birthday. As always, the service and food were impeccable. I know that some say that there are other steakhouses in NY that are better...I would argue that most places don't give you great food, incredible wine selections AND great service/ambiance like BLT Prime. On this occasion our server was George. I can't say enough about him. The perfect service sums it up!!! BLT Prime Is not your typical run of the mill steakhouse... It's more. Love this place"

"Service is the first thing I have to note - it was phenomenal! Every service member we met went above and beyond - we felt like we were the only diners in the house! Knowledgeable and friendly sommelier, manager stopped by and was incredible and we loved our waiter. Food was incredible!! Can't wait to come back - who knew BLT would become our "neighborhood" spot on Friday night!"

"Many better steak places in the city. Service was okay. The food was just not great. My husband and I both ordered steaks and they were just okay. Mine had a lot of charing for a medium-rare steak. We had crab claws for an appetizer and they had hardly any meat to them. Sides are small and not fabulous."

"The filet was AMAZING! best steak I've ever had hands down. The BLT poppers were so delicious as well as the handcut fried. My friends got potato skins, tuna tartare, and salad. Everyone was overly pleased. Onto the dessert one of us got the praline sundae and it was totally delicious not real sweet but enough to fill your sweet cravings. The staff was very friendly. Knew their menu. And they took plates off the table as soon as you were finished. Very prompt on keeping the table clean and to bare minimum of clutter. Water glasses were always filled. The specialty drinks were also very delicious but a little small for what I'm used to at that price. But all of it was definatly worth every penny."

"This has become my favorite steakhouse in NYC, and one of my go-to restaurants. The food is always beautifully prepared, just like you ordered it. But that's only half of the experience. The staff is really amazing, especially the sommelier, who remembers what I had last time (while I do not), and always recommends new finds from their extensive list of New World reds.
If you're looking a great overall product -- perfect, great wine, knowledgeable servers, in a cool downtown place, I would recommend BLT Prime."

Maybe I will give them another chance, but there are so any steakhouses that serve a perfect steak every time it would be a tough call."

"Our family has been on a quest for the best steakhouse in new york and last night we found it. After multiple vists to peter luger, wolfgangs, strip house, sparks, del friscos and more, we finally made it to BLT Prime. From beginning to end, Assistant GM Mark and his team delivered us spectacular dish after spectacular dish and did so with warmth and charm that had us smiling the whole way.There were many food highlights - from simple pleasures like the warm popovers to the tender flavorful perfectly prepared wagyu ribeye and the decadent molton chocolate cake and donuts for dessert.We loved every bite.As we chatted with our neighbors we could tell they were having just as much fun.We will definitely be back again soon."

"One of the best in NYC. Second time there in 6 years and it was even better than I remember. Those popovers are to dies for. The desserts are over the top. Of course steak is fabulous as well"

"BLT is usually a solid place but my last outing was not so good. The waiters were AWOL most of the night, to the point where the somollier (sp?) essentially became our de facto waitress. Then, my med-rare steak came out med-well, it was sent back, and finally a half hour later the replacement steak came. Others at my table were already done w their meal by this time, and the replacement was, as is the case with replacements, not really too good; one of the worst filets I've had in a while"

"This is a go to steak restaurant that also serves excellent apps and seafood. Excellent service and very good food. For those who like the experience of having gruff waiters and food thrown at you, this is not the steak place for you. Try the famous one in Williamsburgh - which is not on my list. I prefer BLT Prime."

"The meal was excellent and the portions enormous.Don't let the waiter fool you into ordering sides when you may not need them! The hanger steak was excellent but if I'm being very picky, the chargrilling was such that it took away from the meat flavour slightly, a little too much smoke and not enough meat as it were.
The extras:chicken pate, bread, brownie were delicious & appreciated. The waiter is very good at leading you to the more expensive dishes,;-) and the noise level on a Saturday night was quite loud, but a nice buzz all the same.
Finally the light levels in some areas is quite low so you'll need your taste buds not eyes to check if your meat has been done to your taste.
I'd happy go again but bear in mind its expensive."

"We started off the night at the bar with a couple of Duvel's, our favorite ale, which is rare to find in restaurants.
Once the staff had finished their meticulous set- up of the dining area we sat down for dinner. Dinner was fabulous!
The angus steaks and the wagyu steaks are fantastic. The pate that was served in the beginning, awesome! Then they brought out popovers before the meal! What a special treat. After the steaks we ordered the donuts with dipping sauce for dessert! Another winner and perfect end to our delicious dinner. Much of their meat comes from grass fed cows. We did take half our food home and it was great the next day too."
