Bibo’s Madd Apple Cafe is a 38 seat independently owned and operated cafe. At BiBo's we stride to provide locally sourced ingredients at an affordable price. We serve lunch, brunch and dinner with our menus changing frequently to highlight ingredients and dishes that are in season. BiBo's provides a comfortable eclectic ambience showcasing art from local artists. We offer an extensive affordable wine list with many specials featured each day. At BiBo's we believe that buying local saves neighborhoods. This is why we deal with local farmers, artisanal cheese makers, and small local suppliers. We have been featured in Down East magazine as a great date restaurant because of the quiet atmosphere. We also feature monthly creative wine dinners and are now offering nightly mini wine dinners.
"This was my second visit and the food was once again - Fantastic!!! We had lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere also. The 'only' thing that I would have changed is that our waiter had the 'sniffles' as though he was sick,,,, not to appealing when handling food...."

"My friends and I often dine at the Madd Apple before a play at the PSC. It is quiet, the food is excellent and the service is always attentive and very good. Thank you."

"The menu at Bibo's is small but everything on it was fantastic. The only downside is that they only serve beer and wine so don't go expecting a cocktail."

"Our first visit to Bibo's. It was a very quiet night. The table was very small so it was hard to juggle all the serving dishes. Food was good - just seemed like an off night."

"I had waffles with whipped cream, maple syrup and a few strawberries. It looked good, but the taste was dry. even with the syrup. Two of my companions had egg concoctions which they declared "delicious", and the fourth member had apple pancakes which he thought were just great.
The layout was very awkward with a number of areas to trip up. This would be a disadvantage for anyone with mobility issues."

"We went to the German. Wine dinner...the food company and wine were excellent. There was communal seating and we lucked out with excellent table companions."

"WE had Sunday brunch; it was delicious but an over-abundance of food. (an argument I have against most restaurants. Less food, lower prices, please) Make sure you go hungry. Although we both enjoyed our meal, when we saw the Eggs Benedict being delivered to the table next to us we were both sorry we hadn't ordered them. We definitely will go back again."

"Food was extraordinary - even better than the few other meals I have had there which were all sensational. Great menu, and most helpful and attentive waitstaff. This is a wonderful find - try it!"

"This is my second time at Bibo's, and both times the food has been excellent as well as the service. One big plus, the red wine was served perfectly chilled. I have had many glasses of red wine served way too warm, and a lot of these were at very expensive restaurants. Bibo's gets the details right and an added bonus; their prices, which are very reasonable. You can't miss with this restaurant,, give it a try!"

"We had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner. Delicious skirt steak (him); salmon (her) perfectly prepared. It was very comfortable and cozy, not rushed, no overblown Valentine craziness. Other couples seemed quite content too."

"It was just after the big storm and we had tickets to Portland Stage next door for the matinee. Bibo's just hit the spot for brunch. The food is great, the service accurate and friendly. I have many dietary restrictions which they were able to accommodate without hesitation. My only feedback would be to up the ante a bit on the espresso."

"This was the first time I had eaten at Bibo's. Situated next to the Portland Stage Co.,it draws theater goers after performances into a cozy bistro atmosphere with candle lit tables for 2, 4, or 6, surrounded by bright colorful walls and artwork. The menu is full of creative, full portion, delicious dishes prepared to order. Whatever you fancy, italian, asian, or german, there is something on their menu that will catch your attention. The fish dishes we ordered were superb...and fresh! Do not miss the fresh spring roll appetizer, full of fresh veggies and a surprise of warm grilled chicken in the center, with an inspired peanut dipping sauce. It was so tasty! Offering special beer and wine selections, Bibo's is a gem and we'll be back!"

"Simply the best decision I've made dining in Portland recently. The prices were outstanding for the quality and portions, and it's hard to find a seat at a brunch in Portland. This one takes RESERVATIONS, which blows my mind, and if you arrive early enough, you have a choice of table as well.
The food was stunning. Perfectly executed, no flavor too over thought - simply a brilliant approach to breakfast (Not to mention that the strips of bacon were about 10 inches long). In and out, with drinks, for 30$ and leftovers!
The service was perfect. Genuine, thoughtful, and never overbearing. Her passion for the restaurant, it's product, and attention to detail was fantastic.
We will be back at least twice a month, if not weekly. Brillia"

"We went to Bibo's for brunch after having a delicious dinner there last year - and were so happy we did! It was absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back - which says a lot in a city with so much delicious food. Plus you can make a reservation on open table which is wonderful when you are hungry in the morning and don't want to wait. The vegetable hash was to die for - and the side of bacon so thick cut and well-cooked. And my husband LOVED his mexi cali eggs benedict too. The housemade thick cut toast with whipped butter and jam hit the spot too (as did the mimosa made with mead!)"

"My wife and I went to Bibo's this past Saturday. It was our second time at the restaurant. Similar to our first visit, we had a very enjoyable experience. The service and food were very good. This is one of the few restaurants in Portland where we would willingly order just about anything on the menu. We had the deviled eggs and spring rolls for appetizers and the chipotle pork and pot roast dishes for dinner. Everything was wonderful with bold, bright flavors in each dish. For dessert, we shared a piece of chocolate cream pie. The wine selections, which were priced very modestly, were a pleasant surprise. We really enjoy Bibo's and recommend it to others. The other surprise? The total bill was only $87. Nice!!"

"Appetizers and mains were well-prepared & tasty. The menu wanders effectively from the beaten path, introducing flavors and textures that make one think of Asian/African/Middle-Eastern cuisines. The fried chickpea fritters were excellent."
