"It was just OK. The food was not memorable, and the prices were high. Portions were very nice but the waiter we had brought me a very dry red wine and told me that he knew it was the wrong wine but he didn't have the White Zinfindel I ordered...!?! Really? All in all I won't return."

"The menu at The Old House is varied and interesting enough that everyone in our party was able to find appetizers, entrees, drinks etc. that were appealing and unusual without being silly (no molecular gastronomy, thank you). The food was very well prepared except for an over-salted barley side, and all the meats and fish were cooked exactly as ordered. Portions were generous but not ridiculous. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Our friends were thrilled that we brought them there and all vowed to return."

"Housed in the wonderful Eldorado Hotel and Spa, the Old House offers a delicious breakfast at reasonable prices. Portions are more than ample and beautifully presented. Better coffee can be found elsewhere, but they leave the pot on your table for handy refills. We stayed at the Eldorado for five nights and had breakfast there three times and each time we were not disappointed. There is a lovely weekend brunch for only $19 and it was a spectacular spread."

"Interesting decor, friendly staff and good food made this a reliable dining place for hotel guests. The breakfast buffet included an omelet and waffle station, an excellent granola and lots of fresh fruit. The kitchen was able to produce lunch when one had limited time."

"we were put on the back burner behind large groups and tables that came in after us and were totally forgotten. When we were finally served, it was too late for me to eat and the food was very disappointing. We did not return the whole six days we stayed at the El Dorado when we had planned on having breakfast there etc."

"Very pleased with our experience at Old House! From the Bar to the restaurant...the food and drinks could not have been better and the service was superb! We went to many nice restaurants while in Santa Fe and Old House ranked as my favorite! The wedge salad was the best ever and the shrimp was fabulous...fresh, very large and plump, and had the best flavor. The atmosphere and surroundings were very comfortable, clean,cozy and classy."

"Great place to dine with friends or enjoy a business dinner. Aged steaks and unique sides--Hatch Chile Mac and Cheese--assure that we will go back again to try other entrees. The service was five star, where everything is taken care of by invisible (but competent and friendly) staff. The main dining room is nicely decorated and comfortable. The restaurant is housed within a fine downtown hotel, but with free valet parking it's easy to access. The Old House provides an all around great dining experience. We will definitely go back...maybe this week!"

"We visited this restaurant for a special occasion. We found the price for two ($175.00, which included a tip) to be on the high side for what we received. My husband's steak was disappointing--it was underdone, tough and stringy. The scallop dish that I ordered was just right--succulent and soft. We ordered a chocolate lava cake for dessert (to share). To our disappointment--there was no lava! Just a small, dry chocolate muffin sized cake without any pizz-azz, altogether unmemorable.
Our waiter was very nice. He was professional, friendly and engaging.
All in all, we could have had several great meals out elsewhere for the price we paid at The Old House Restaurant. (We visited this restaurant on March 22, 2013.)"

"I made a resrevation online. When I got there it had been cacelled (?) The person at the reception said she could fit me in if I didn't mind to wait a little. She was very pleaseant about it. My friends were late anyways so it worked out. The noise level in the restuarant is a bit disturbing. I wish we could have had a table near the walls and not in the middle. Maybe it would have been quieter. Food was excellen and service likewise. I had to ask for the lemon wedges for my water about four times and that wasn't cool. All in all it was a good experience. I'd recommend it and go back anytime there are specials again or at the next Restaurant Week. It's just too expensive on a regular basis."

"The recent renovation of a comfortable, traditional dining room reminded us of the stadium lights which blot out the nighttime view of the duomo in Florence. An apparent conference table in the adjacent bar had spotlights shining into the dining area; I had to squint to see the person across the table from me. The new tables are one step up from Denny's, but only one. Our serving person was quite nice and overwhelmed. She agreed to separate checks, but neither was correct, with three items switched. The food was okay--we need to remember that it was a tasting menu and perhaps not typical of the usual fare, but it wasn't worth the drive with all the excellent competition Santa Fe boasts."

"My lamb was tough and gamey, and my boyfriends steak felt like leather. Our server was inattentive and impersonable. The brusque service would have at least been understandable had it been a busy night, but we were surrounded by empty tables. We were clearly the youngest diners by at least 20 years, and I feel that we were entirely brushed off as customers because of it. Completely inexcusable. Also, I understand there are house rules pertaining to vertical ID's but the fact that my 24 year old boyfriend with valid license couldn't even get a single drink on a valentines date was pretty lame. Signs should be posted for diners to see the house rules ahead of time. Oh, and my credit card got double charged for the entire bill. Worst date ever"
