"Well, usually I like M&S, it's been a while since I have been, especially since it was bought by Tillman Fratita. As per his usual M.O. the food has started its downhill slide. He always buys good restaurants and turns them into food mills for the masses. We went for Mother's Day brunch and were excited for some good seafood. We started with the mussels, they were marginal. I had the Shrimp and Grits. The shrimp were covered in bbq sauce, not what I would call good. The grits were fine. My wife had the parmesian crusted halibut, it was ok, but for $35, I would expect better. My son had the fish and chips, he liked them, he's 6. The service was fine, but the food can definitely be better. All in all, I doubt we will go back."

"Went to celebrate a special occasion on a Sunday evening and was completely underwhelmed. Not only was the service extremely slow for an empty restaurant, but the food was mediocre and incorrect. We had to ask our waitress two times before she finally brought us bread. The kitchen also ran out of items on dishes we ordered and proceeded to substitute other sides without notifying us first. The waitress never brought a manager by to apologize, we had to ask for one. Instead of taking an item off the menu or adjusting the bill accordingly, the manager insisted on bringing us out three desserts, which we had no interest in since we were in a hurry. Weird. Plain Weird. Wouldn't even consider going back. Don't waste your time or money."

"My nineteen year old wanted to dine at M&S's and we had a wonderful time. She was very impressed with the outstanding quality of the food, as well as the exceptional service. The addition of "Happy Birthday Schyler" at the top of the menu was a nice touch for her. We chose to dine outside and the entire experience was very memorable. We plan to return soon and would highly recommend M&S for a great dining experience."

"We were greeted with "Happy Birthday" wishes by the hostess, which was special. We did not like the first table they wished to seat us at so we were moved to another waiter's area. There where the evening went downhill. Terrible waitress; no one mentioned to her that we were celebrating a birthday; she ignored our table; we ordered expensive wine which she lefted at the table unopened for at least five minutes while she waited on another table. She was just rude."

"The food was excellent - one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to in Houston! The menu has items that are out of the ordinary, and also has some seafood staples (fried fish) that should please children. However, we were surprised that the restaurant didn't serve bread with drinks or with dinner. We were also a little surprised by the amount of noise in the restaurant. Less noise would have made this an ideal spot for a romantic dinner. I would also recommend that McCormick set aside different areas of the restaurant for different kinds of customers. A more livelier area (more noisy, better lit)and another part for couples/small groups with dim lighting and less noise for intimate gatherings."

"Had reservations for 8 at 8pm. Had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. This would not have bothered me if the manager or matre de had come over after we sat down and apologized for the wait. Did not hear from anyone about this other than our waiter. Have been here several times before and have had very good service, with the attention to detail that I like in a restaurant. I guess I should write this off to a Friday night and not be so disappointed. Just sad that it does not appear that anyone in management at this particular restaurant is worried about the customer experience."

"Very disappointing. I am not sure I can even say the food was adequate. The salmon was overcooked and the Ahi Tuna was of a mushy consistency. The cucumber salad was not served chilled and as if it had set out over night.
Based on the prices the food should have been superb. I would not eat there again."

"The wait staff at the bar was great, and most of the serving staff was good. Our waiter was a little unpolished and somewhat less professional than what I would expect at a restaurant like this. Lots of good food. Will return for dinner again in the future."

- Waiter was relentless about attempting to upsell us on our wine selection. The wine menu was "in transition" and they seemed to be out of everything under $60. By the way, a $9.99 bottle of Ménage a Trois was listed at over $30. Finally, the waiter "found one more" bottle of my very first selection when he figured out I wasn't buying the $50 featured selection. I ordered an 8 oz. filet mignon medium rare that came to the table about an inch and a half thick and triangle shaped. Perhaps the that's why it was cooked medium and not as I ordered. I'm not in the habit of sending food back and it was a date, so I just ate it."
