"Good french restaurant but nothing original. Brunch is a little expansive: $20 and not worth it compare to the rest of the menu. "L'assiette de charcuterie" is a good appetizer to share. Mousse au chocolat was not good and chocolat cake was allright. Service was very good. They even offered us a fre dessert because they took lots of time to bring them !"

"Went for a "French" Valentine's dinner. The five salad offerings were all appealing and they scored with a grilled shrimp salad and a goat cheese salad. Wine list had great variety (it was priced away from the American wines but the French and Italians offered appealing options under $80). Roast chicken was crispy to dry but my wife's bass was excellent. The hedge here was terrible communication. Nothing on line about valentine's prix-fixe nor when then called to confirm but shoved the news in your hand as they took your coat. Then for dessert the prix fixe includes a mousse that they brought one of, placed it infront of my wife and never said that in addition to thr $75 prix fixe we are serving a to share dessert and not telling that."

"We were looking for a Reh Dinner place in TriBeCa and came across this restaurant by accident. We decided to give it a try before deciding - it is INCREDIBLE! The staff are lovely and more than accommodating, the venue is charming and the food was extraordinary. Especially the monkfish served with baby artichokes and potato and black olive gnocchi. Incredible. VERY MUCH looking forward to our rehearsal dinner and many more to come."

"Overall I was very disappointed, apart from the service. Our waiter was excellent and he even assisted us with locating bars in the area to go to after dinner. The food was just ho hum. I love steak tartar and that was average at best. The crab cakes were good. The shepards pie (special) was very good but the duck was below average. The cost of the entrees copled with the average quality of food made this place not worth returning."

"We were sited as soon as we arrived promptly and were attended by several people. The waiter had some good suggestions and appeared to know the menu adequately. It's a very typical good French restaurant with great variety. The ambiance was nice and energetic. The food was great. Service was fast. The decor is very Parisian and authentic. A very nice experience, not particularly intimate unless you can ignore your surroundings, everyone is sitting next to one another in a Parisian style. If you like that it would be a delight as we struck a conversation with neighbors on both end. Very friendly staff from reception to waiter. I would definitely recommend it."

"The food was excellent. The ambiance was classic French Bistro, however the serverer was horrible. The server was arrogant and condescending. Rather than telling us about what was in the specials, he took us on a meandering tour of barnyard life. Additionally the restaurant was nearly empty and so the server felt it necessary to spend the entire evening monitoring us. I don't want unattentive service but I do not enjoy having my conversation interrupted every time a take a sip of water or wine to have it refilled immediately."

"I have now been to Cercle Rouge three times and the food was outstanding each time. The escargot was excellent and you need an entire baguette to finish the dish, the Cassoulet Toulessoin was outstanding, the warm salads are also terrific starters and the dessert (banafee pie) is very good as well. The wine is terrific and reasonable - and the service is very attentive, coupled with a nice casual french bistro setting you will not be dissappointed. A low key, quieter version of Baltzar."

"Food mostly good, service amatuerish. The waiter asked one diner if she wanted french fries with her mussels. The other diners heard her, but apparently the waiter didn't, because they never arrived. When this was pointed out, the waiter, said, "She should communicate better." He did add an extra puff to the profiterole dessert. When complemented on his wine suggestion, he was condescending in his response. The mussels were miniscule, so they shouldn't have been on the menu -- adding more didn't make up for their tininess and rubberiness. Also the desserts came out separately, about 5 minutes apart."

"My friend and I happened upon Cercle Rouge last year during a summertime walk and did not visit the restaurant until four months later. What a pleasant surprise. We arrived for brunch, but ordered food from the lunch menu. There was a staff member performing tricks for the children. Now, don't get me wrong, i love kids, but I tend not to enjoy the noise they manufacture while i'm trying to have an adult dining experience. We never heard the kids - now, that's what I call magic. I ordered onion soup - quite tasty and chicken paillard, which was lucious. For dessert, a sticky toffee pudding, which was outstanding. All in all, it was a wonderful experience - I will definitely eat there again!"
