Redwater Rustic Grille - Aspen Estates
Redwater Rustic Grille’s market driven menu is a fresh interpretation of contemporary West Coast Cuisine with signature dishes and innovative creations. A favorite destination for wine-lovers and foodies alike, Redwater’s wine menu features specialties from smaller boutique wineries, many of which are not found elsewhere in the city. The large selection of wine complements the executive chef's menu of seasonal robust dishes. Canadian Coral, soft lighting, the contemporary lounge and the large glass wine cellar enclosing the private dining room; creates an ambiance of casual refinement. "The wait on Mother's Day was extraordinarily long and when we mentioned to the manager, she took care of our meal. That said, it is a location we still enjoy. The atmosphere is great and the food, normally, is well presented, tasty and portioned nicely. On Mother's Day the kitchen was overwhelmed by the volume through the restaurant, struggling to keep up. We ordered benedicts of various types, other breakfast fare (and a sandwich). This took over an hour to come to us BUT the manager was great, the waiter apologetic and ultimately, they handled to situation with humble class.
Normally, we attend for either lunch or dinner and the food and service has always been fantastic. We would definitely go back, despite this one odd occasion."

"Don't recommend Sunday night dinner there as the chef leaves for the evening, the kitchen staff pays very little attention to the quality of food coming out. Had to send back one of the main course dishes, charred steak, and the dessert was an absolute disaster...I didn't think a brownie could that small.
Our server was terrible he just seemed very uninterested in providing with us ANY kind of service or attention, we had to keep calling over other staff members.
This is unfortunate because Redwater Aspen is one of our favorite restaurants. We will definitely come during a weeknight or busy Saturday when the service is more reliable.
However, the manager Chantal was very good at ensuring everything was taken care of properly."

"Had brunch for the first time at the Redwater Grille. Was pleasantly surprised when everyone at the table was brought a complimentary yogurt w/granolla, fresh fruit and bananna bread. Things were off to a good start. The food was good, especially the roasted potatoes. Found the kids meals a bit pricey and they did not come with a drink so that was an unexpected extra cost. We were served our main meal quickly and all items were hot and fresh. If price isn't a concern this may be the restaurant for you."

"This restaurant is changing and the changes are not good. When it first opened it went through growing pains but eventually got better. Recently we went and noticed a bunch of changes that we were not thrilled about. It seems that they are trying to cut costs at all corners and as a result they will lose some of the clientele that wants quality. It felt like we were at Moxies which is fine if you want a casual family dining experience-But not at Red Water pricing."

"We were looking for a nice quiet spot for a good quality meal. The food and service was very good, but it was a little too noisy, and the tables were too close together. The family with small children at the next table encroached on our space (we have children and grandchildren, but they behave in public).
The reservation system at the restaurant is a failure, which we reported to a manager. We called the restaurant for a reservation and they told us there was nothing available until 8:00pm, so I went in through Open Table, and easily made a reservation for 6:00pm, which is what we wanted in the first place. When we arrived for our reservation 75% of the tables were empty. The manager we spoke to didn't seem to care about our concern."

"The service when she was FREE was very good but at the very end, we waited a long long time to get the check paid..we ended up having to walk to the bar to pay as they were short staff. It wasn't the waitress fault but the fact they were short staffed. The foods is very very pricey for the quality. I didn't find it too good for me to go back again for that kind of $$$$$. I am a foodie and to pay $30 entree, it's not top notched. But atmosphere looking out to the fake pond is okay. A nice venue for out of downtown..they have to improve the quality of foods to charge that much. Meat ball was very dry etc. Thanks."

"This was our first time going to this location as well as trying the Redwater Grill Brunch menu.
Our group was a little disappointed - as the online menu for this location listed a Lobster Benedict for the brunch menu, which when we arrived was not available and could not be made upon request. This item on their online menu was the sole reason why we came to eat this day at this location.
We all found something different to try and in the end were very happy with our meal."

"Unfortunately I did not get our waitress's name but overall- one of the best service I have ever encountered.
My in-laws were celebrating theie 50th anniversary- and when they arrived at the restaurant- the hostess(s) greeted them with acknowledgement of this special occasion. Then, after they were taken to the very large booth table- champagne was offered. My husband and I arrived at this time- and with the waitresses wonderful smile- was asked if we wanted something to drink. Then, we were given a salmon/tuna dish- with beets and goat cheese and green stuff. It was the best!!!! I do not eat raw fish in any form, but this was so sweet and tasty! My in-laws were in heaven. The meal perfectly cooked. Hot and delicious!"

"First of all, I was totally shocked by how busy the place was, given that we showed up shortly after 6 PM (with a plea to have dinner earlier than our 6:30 reservation! Everyone was very accommodating, and I would suggest the service throughout the night was outstanding. After a wonderful appetizer of salmon rillettes (yum), our main courses arrived (roast beef for my wife and salmon for me). Accompanied by a glass of a very pleasant wine, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. With regret, we simply could not handle dessert, but did savor and enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee. Redwater is a classy place - but never pretentious - and I liked that the best. Can hardly wait for Summer to check out the patio!"

My son ordered a Chicken Flatbred entre and received Rotissorie Chicken! Not what he wanted but kept it rather than spoil the evening for the group. It's not fun sitting, waiting for your meal while others are eating! I ordered the Salmon and it was overcooked. The edges were actually curled. The vegitables & gnocci were flavorful and well prepared. We had a bottle of ST. Jean, Pinot Noir, a special for the month, which we quite enjoyed and was reasonably priced. The waitress was pleasant but, obviously under trained.

"This restaurant never disappoints us! We sampled many different parts of the menu between us and all were outstanding. Really like their assortment of wines by the glass in this .05 era.
Service was a touch on the slow side, but I think this was because we were engrossed in good conversation and they didn't want us to feel rushed. No issue at all.

"no one to greet at the door, for any of our group (all 3 arived separately). Eventually made it to table. Took around 15 minutes or more to place a drink order (server didn't show up for that long after being sat by another server)Menu didn't match online, so pre-planned cocktails were rethought. Once order was placed, they arrived promptly. Dinner was prompt and delicious (scallops are excellent starter). Server didn't seem like she wanted to be there, and we were keeping her from her life. She wasn't overtly rude or anything, just not at all attentive (she came by about 4 times, including with the bill)"

"Hello, We specifically requested a quiet private area, instead were placed directly below the cashier/server counter. We had no privacy whatsoever as the rstaurant servers hovered over us, and they might as have been sitting at our table as that is how close they were the entire time we were there. The food was hardly something to write home about, actually not good at all considering the price points. I regret not asking to be moved to another table as the entire restaurant was perhaps 10% occupied at that time. My advice to the restaurant, READ the reservation details!! The entire experience was disappointing. Will not return."
