A landmark on Telegraph Road for more than 30 years, Meriwether’s provides a comfortable, down-home ambiance in the style of an English Country Inn. Meriwether’s specializes in fresh fish and seafood delicacies such as Salmon Rockefeller, Maryland Crab Cakes and Dynamite Scallops as well as tender steaks, pastas, sandwiches and salads. The famous Teacup Bread, served with honey-cinnamon butter, is a trademark recipe from the original restaurant. "My third visit to this restaurant and this experience was not what I was expecting especially on Mother's Day. Hour wait for appetizers, food orders were wrong and terrible when finally served correctly, and asked to speak to manager, she was not pleasant and did not want to accommodate us for the terrible service."

"We were disappointed. The wait was very long and the waitress was not friendly. Although the wait was very long there were many empty tables. We used to love it there. The tea cup bread was very poor with no flavor. Unfortunately they have reduced their quality of service and food significantly in the past few years. We had not been there for several years."

"I and my best friend took our moms to Meriwether's for Mother's Day Lunch and the food was only OK, I still enjoyed the rolls they give you but the food was lackluster. Our server took good care of us but I do believe that that was my last visit to that restaurant being that I have experienced fine dining before there was nothing fine about the food."

"As we could not make the mid-afternoon brunch, we settled for an evening meal at Meriwethers. The place was understaffed, and we didn't leave for 2.5 hours. Food was great, it still came out hot, but the time it took displaced all good perceptions."

"Meriwether's was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I took her up on it. It's great for special occasions as I visited for Mothers Day. The ambience was very nice for the occasion and although pricey, the food was delicious and the portions were generous. I would definitely recommend it for a special day out w/ family or friends or a date."

"I have only been to Meriwether's a couple times and had an overall good impression. I booked it for an Easter Lunch/early dinner for two reasons: it was conveniently located, and I did not want a brunch buffet. However, you never know how a restaurant will be on a special holiday. I was very very happy with the entire meal experience. The waitstaff was great - friendly and efficient. The food came out fairly quickly. They seemed to be fully staffed and well versed in taking care of a constant stream of customers all day long and didn't miss a beat! Now I am asking myself, why have I only been there a couple times - I am definitely adding it to my list of go to places for a nice night out-good food, well priced, nice cozy ambiance."

"Well we were quite disappointed as we made this reservations way ahead of time for Valentines day, our reservations was for 6:00 pm and we were rushed to order and then we were served our salad and before we could put our fork in salad the food was brought. So we never got to eat our salad as our dinner would of been cold! Not happy at all the manager called as they also sent us how we liked our dinner and his response was well that had a lot of help that night and was trying to serve the food fast. Well I do not think when you spend money for a nice dinner you should be rushed. The only reason we were there till 7:00pm was because we kept telling the waitress we would order dessert when we wanted to or we would of been done by 6:30 pm"

"Our 1st visit to this restaurant as a valentines day date with my fiancé. Excellant experiance! Made reservation using open table early in the day. Our table was waiting for us so there was no wait! Our waitress was excellent, attentive, friendly, etc... The food was as advertised, well prepared and flavorful. Best calamari ive ever had, and the before dinner rolls melt in your mouth, simply delicious. The atmosphere was perfect, it was busy but not crowded, a private conversation could be had, but you never feel isolated. We'll be back, soon..."

"Very good food, especially the rolls served in a bowl. Those were so good, I could have had just those all night. Prices were reasonable and the wait staff was very friendly. Definitely satisfactory for a Valentine's Day visit. Would definitely visit again."

"We were looking forward to an over the top Valentine's Day dinner. The food did not disappoint but the service sure did. We were seated immediately upon arriving and then waited, and waited, and...well you get it. About 15 minutes went by and we saw a girl with ice water...she would have walked right by us if I didn't call to her to at least fill our water glasses. About 5 more minutes and a waitress wandered by and we asked where our waitress was. She said she would check, she walked away and came back a couple of minutes later to tell us she was our waitress. We ordered a bottle of wine, of course she brings us the wrong bottle. It was one thing after another all night. The food was great however but too frustrated to go back."

"The service was terrific and is the reason I would come back to this restaurant. The scallop appetizer was excellent. The bread can become addictive if you are not careful. My crab cake entrée was mediocre at best."

"To put it simply... this was my first time at Meriwether's and the food was really good, and the service was awesome. I had the dynamite scallops as an appetizer and it was amazing. Definitely a must try. I didn't eat the dinner roll that comes in the teacup, however, it looked good and smelled great. I'll give it a try next time. And there will be a next time."
