A local favorite for almost thirty years, Domenico’s on the Wharf features wild sustainable local and Alaskan seafood. The restaurant, located on Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf, is known for its formal, yet friendly, ambiance and impeccable service, as well as its one-of-a-kind menu. We invite you to select from our award winning wine list while you sit and take in the striking views of the Monterey Harbor. One visit to Domenico’s on the Wharf and you will find yourself returning time and again.
We are open for lunch and dinner, and offer Happy Hours seven days a week. Reservations are recommended.
"Had to wait for a table, but it turned out they knew it was our anniversary so they wanted to give us a table with a bay view. It was well worth the wait. Everyone from the Maitre di, the hostess, the waiter and the busman were delightful and professional. It was casual and yet pretty upscale. A bit pricey, but it was worth it. The filet was probably the best I have had in years and my son had an Australian lobster that took up the whole plate and it turned out as good as it looked. The outside of the wharf looks a little seedy (by design) but the inside the restaurants are very clean and roomy. Would definitely go back."

"This is a place we have been going to every time we come to Monterey, maybe 10 times in the last 5 years. Bothe service and food has gotten better!
You go hear to hear and see the Sea Lions, be on the wharf and enjoy California seafood. Where else can you get grilled sardines and abalone ( if you want to spend the price).
Will be back againi."

"Service was awful. We had a number of tables that came in after us and left before we got our entrees. The waiter never came to the table to check on us, to let us know when our meal was going to show up. We finally had to flag down the manager to find out what was going on with our dinner. When the waiter finally had our dinner and was enroute to our table he was stopped by the table across from us and he stopped to talk to them while holding on to our food (instead of telling them he would be right back after he dropped off our food, because we were waiting so long). When he dropped off the food, there was no apology. Then we got an incorrect bill."

"I love Domenico's! I dine there when ever I get a chance. The food and the service are both great. Try the dungeness crab it's my favorit. The wine list is good, and they have a nice bar for drinks. The views are awsome of the fishermans warf. You can definitely see the seals. Domenico's takes alot of pride in what they do and it shows."

"Domenico's is a nice place to have dinner on the wharf. The food and service was good with the exception of the grilled scallops I had. They were a little too charred for my taste. The wine list was good."

"The fish dishes were prepared quite nicely, not overcooked as requested. The views were spectacular overlooking the harbor and the sea lions at play. The triple shot dessert was really good."

"Delicious and healthy food! Awesome ambience. Service was a little slow, but it didn't really matter- it was a very relaxing dinner. We always have a nice time and good meal at Domenico's."

"We usually try to avoid tourist-type "fish and chowder" restaurants on boardwalks, wharves, etc., but based on reviews we decided to give Domenico's a try on a trip to Monterey last week.. It was a real find -- complete with awesome views of the harbor and sea lions, great service (thanks, Charles), but, most importantly, good food and wine at fair prices. My husband enjoyed his salmon ravioli to be very tasty and my Chicken Marsala was one of the best I have ever had. The tiramisu dessert was somewhat gummy, but that was a minor glitch. The wine list, while not extensive, provided several good, moderately-priced choices. The ambiance was nicely modern and free from the usual Italian decorations . A big thumbs up!"

"Everyone enjoyed their meals from our appetizers ranging from calamari to dungeness crab cocktail and award- winning clam chowder to our delicious entrees including crab with “pearl” pasta, crab stuffed salmon and broiled swordfish. Service was friendly and attentive and the view of the fishing vessels topped off our dining experience. Will most definitely return to Domenico’s during our next visit to Monterey."

"We don't normally eat at tourist traps. As you walk down the pier at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, there are "barkers" on both sides offering samples of their clam or crab chowder. So you feel like you are at a carnival. We stopped here because the guy offering up his chowder said he was a fisherman as well and could vouch for the freshness of what was served that day. The meals did not disappoint. My sole was very fresh tasting ( they said it was swimming that morning) and was lightly flavored so the fish shown through. My husband had sand dabs which were described as small whitefish. His meal was also well prepared; lightly breaded in a panko crust and pan sauteed. Again very good. You can take your chances with this one."

"Monday evening, we celebrated my husband's 73rd birthday at Domenico's on the Wharf with family. Everyone agreed their meal was delicious and our waiter was delightful. I grew-up / lived in the area for many years and Domenico's has a long - standing reputation for its food and service. Nearly every time we visit Monterey; we eat at Domenico's and are never disappointed!"
