"Our waiter started the evening off poorly by being quite condesending. I was actually laughed at for one question. There were two tables of people in the same room as us who were being extremely loud and vulgar. It got to the point where I just wanted to hurry up and eat so we could leave. No attempt was made by the restaurant staff to curb the noise level or the language being used. The food was ok but not great. I don't mind paying the prices they charge if you get an extra special experience but 529 is overpriced."

"Have been to 529 quite a few times, but this time we took our adult children for their first 529 experience.
Everyone from the hostess, to the server was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable night out. Food was delicious as always, and even my youngest son who can be quite picky was impressed. At is a decent hit on the pocket book, but every once in a while, a trip to 529 for a special occasion is well worth it."

"Three of my friends attended your wonderful restaurant for one of our friends birthdays. We had a wonderful time, food and ambiance,excellent and our service excellent! The only bad thing was the flooring coming in from carpet to flooring. My girlfriend fell due to the difference in flooring, but all was well. Truly a great experience! I will be back with my hubby one evening!"

"The restaurant is located in the renovated mansion built in 1912 of hardware retailer and wholesaler, James H. Ashdown. Ashdown was also a former mayor of Winnipeg. My wife and I arrived at 8:45PM for a 9:00 reservation. The restaurant was filled to capacity which is always a good sign when going to a new restaurant.
We had a drink from the bar while we waited for our table. While waiting we had the opportunity to observe the very efficient and well trained staff. All were scurrying around cheerfully with purpose to ensure the best possible dining experience for their guests. The poise and professionalism of out hostess, Ashton was amazing.
Marnie, our server was outstanding. Steak was done to perfection. Apps & sides great."

"My wife and I went to 529 to celebrate our aniversary. 529 did not disappoint. The food was excellent and our server was very helpful and attentive. The only downside we had was the 20 min wait for our reservation. That didn't take away from our night or from the food we enjoyed. I would definately go again and reccomend it to others."

"Enjoyed our meal. The choosing in an a la carte menu took some getting used to. Wine costs are higher than expected for 6 oz Rose at $26 though it was very good. The server was very welcoming. We were seated with small children in our dining area which was distracting for our romantic evening. The steak was the best we have tasted ; portions sizes were perfect."

"We were seated @ 830(reservation time) and were immediatly greeted and brought our drinks. We ordered 2 entree's and an appaetizer that came quite quickly. by 9pm we had our entrees and everything was movnig quickly. Dennis our waiter was very professional and quite calm in demeanor. very nice.
After dinner we were deciding about dessert or going home. We decided to order basic homemade ice cream....at 945, i thought "15 minutes for ice cream". Dennis returned to tell us our dessert was given to another table by mistake? by mistake? it then took anothe 10 minutes to get it. We were served dinner in 30 minutes and dessert in 30 minutes......the timing wasn't very good as it ended momentum on our end......"
