"Since my husband and I only eat out on Sunday afternoons, I was unable to make recommendations as requested above. However, I can state that Big Fish is perfect for special occasions, such as Mother's Day. The staff is warm and welcoming, and seem genuinely pleased to see you. They make every attempt to satisfy your needs (for a booth, for added sauces, etc.). The décor is delightful, the seating comfortable, service is first-class and the food is delectable! All this, and no dishes to wash when we get back home!!"

"The wine list was great, the service terrific, the menu? 7 of us ordered 4 appetizer's, 6 different dinner's and no one was floored with their meal. Everything was quite good, nothing outstanding though. The soups were quite good, the Big Fish Chowder was my favorite part of this meal. The food had a very "sameness quality" to it. Good but no personality. The only desert ordered was a creme brulee and it was burnt. A few of our group tried it but it wasn't finished. I will certainly return, hoping to find the one dish that will make me tell others that they must go and try Big Fish!"

"Our team took our admins to Big Fish for lunch. Everyone seemed pleased with their selections. There was a minor service glitch as the waitress forgot to bring cream for the coffee that was requested. As it was a very nice day outside it would have been nice if we had been given the option of outside seating. Never the less these were minor issues and our overall experience was great."

"This is the story of a manager that just doesn't care! We came here to celebrate my daughters 22nd birthday. When we arrived I pulled the manager aside and asked her if she had anything to put a candle in. She told me NO! I would have paid for a dessert or anything, the money wasn't the issue here. Just a flat NO. Wow. Kinda started things off on the wrong foot??
Service was good, if not programmed, too many absolutelys' and my pleasure's thrown in for good measure. Food was tasty and looked good.
Except for the birthday issue, a solid 3 stars here. Sometimes its not the big details, but the little ones..."

"The food is always amazing at Big Fish. The only draw back is, when we requested a sample of the dessert wine to see which would pair best, we were told no. Most fine dining restaurants will allow you to sample the wine before you buy."

"Nobody was very impressed with their dinner, and for two of us all we tasted was salt. The manager did comp us two free desserts. I did enjoy the ambiance, but cannot recommend based on the food."

"I used to go to the Big Fish every year as a teenager with my family for the holidays. We stopped going about 10 years ago and this was the first time I have been back since. My wife and I ate dinner on Friday night, apps were great, wine was amazing, entrees were sub-par. My wife ordered the diver scallops in the vermouth cream sauce, it was almost as if the vermouth had not been reduced down enough or wasn't bonded with a protein. The taste was bitter and you could taste the alcohol from the vermouth. I had the broiled seafood platter, it wasn't anything to write home about. We both agreed that it is a great spot to have an appetizer and a glass of wine, as far as eating dinner there, never again!"

"Love the restaurant. Nice alternative for Andiamos and Ciao in the area. Service is usually very friendly and attentive. Best of all love the lunch selections. When in the mood for fish...best in area for dinner."

"We celebrated a Co-Worker's birthday on the day we dine at the BIG FISH and we had a great time - I wished that this restaurant would have at least offered a complimentary mini dessert - for the occasion. Because we work so nearby, we frequent a lot of the other restaurants in the area, but we wanted to be different this time and at least experience this location. Other than that, our team is still talking about the wonderful fellowship and dining experience. Our waiter was excellent and her professionalism was truly appreciated.
Thank you"

"This place is comfortable and the food is excellent as well as the staff. We started with the recommended calamari. It was very good. My husband looked forward to ordering the dungeon us crab all day and was not disappointed. The salads were fresh and the house dressing delicious . We just wish that this place was closer to home."

"My husband and I were in Dearborn for 1 night with no idea of where to eat, the receptionist at our hotel recommended The Big Fish. Upon entering the restaurant the atmosphere was energetic with a group playing. We found the menu had a good variation. My husband had the lobster bisque and the whitefish which he said was very good! I had the lobster bisque and salmon which was excellent ! The salmon was cooked to perfection, very moist! Our server was attentive to us during the meal and made it clear upon finishing that there was no rush to finish our wine. Thank you we had a great evening, great food, great price!"

"The food was excellent. Service just so so. It was Valentine's Day evening, so there were several families with out-of-control kids. I know that the restaurant can't control that, but it was annoying anyways."

"Dissapointed that there was no Valentines Day special and the "Distinctive Dining" they always have on the menu was not being offering for the "holiday". It would have been nice to have been told that when we were handed our menus. The entree we both chose was great as was the creme brulee. We will definately be back again, but probably not for a "holiday"."

"The room was too dark to read the menu. Our order was for two people, no special requests - just straight from the menu. The table sitting by us which arrived after and had four guests had their food arrive before ours. When our food did arrive, after prompting the waiter, one of the plates was cold. It was fish and we were not going to send it back to be reheated. The manager came into the small room to check out how the service was but neglected to stop at our table, only asking the first table in the room how their food was. I doubt we will be returning any time soon."

"Our server Jennifer was excellent; she was knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. The lobster bisque was very good and had lots of lobster pieces. We also had the shrimp en brochette which was flavorful. My brother had the blackened salmon sandwich which he enjoyed with the sweet potatoe fries. My walleye was pan seared perfectly. My mom enjoyed the Big Fish and chips ; she substituted the sweet potatoe fries. They have the best sweet potatoe Myfries in our area. We had the cinnamon bread pudding and shark's fin for dessert. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her birthday celebration and we Will definitely be back."
