Lorenzo's Trattoria
Lorenzo’s features Northern Italian fare with a touch of contemporary flavor. Look to our menu for some of the classics as well as some modern Italian cuisine less prevalent on The Hill. Look forward to experiencing the authentic house-made gnocchi and risottos; or our signature dish, braised Osso Buco; our guests' ever favorite, Chicken Spedini; or a couple of the staff favorites, the Poached Alaskan Halibut or Fabulous Veal Picatta.

"Definitely would recommend it! This is my third time at the restaurant. First time: business dinner. Second time: a romantic celebration. Third time: group celebration. Each time the experience was great! The food & service is excellent. Among the best authentic italian food I've tasted. When I sent special requests for the celebrations. They responded with cakes and a special room. Just amazing! And the price is not expensive compared to its peers of the same quality."

"My husband, son and his girlriend went to Lorenzo's for a Saturday night Mother's Day celebration. My husband and I have ALWAYS enjoyed the service and food so thought the others would too. Whiile we did indeed enjoy the food, it was the first time that the service was FAIR. The Barmaid was extremely slow in taking our order at the bar and then in providing the drinks (two glasses of wine and two beers--not difficult!). And, the bar was not that busy! Our waiter seemed very rushed but cordial, we never got refills on our water and had to ask for bread. Because our previous visits were always wonderufl, we believe this was just an "off night." We will surely return."

"I've been to Lorenzo's several times in the last year and it has become my "go-to" place when people suggest having diner on The Hill. My husband and I both said that we can't recall ever remarking at the end of an evening at Lorenzo's that it was "Just okay." Every time we've been there with first-timers they have been impressed. Keep it up, Lorenzo's.
By the way, I'm not giving the maximum star levelsto anything anymore. I think we've gotten way too liberal in giving A+ grades and standing ovations. So, don't read anything into my four star ratings. Lorenzo's is great."

"Food was incredible: veal, mussels, gnocchi, chianti...... We loved it. Since we ate dinner around 8:30pm it wasn't very busy so we were put off at first. Then each bite made us glad we were there. Not so much a fancy date place, but if u are a foodie... I'd say this is the perfect place to put on a few lbs. :)"

"The food was solidly good. Our server was not very attentive. He took a long time to get our drinks and did not stay on top of our needs. "Excellent service, terrific food, and a contemporary chic atmosphere in a traditional St. Louis neighborhood all add up to a great dining experience for couples or large groups. Lorezo's Trattoria is very flexible when it comes to dietary needs, too, which was quite helpful to the gluten-free member of our party.

"My husband ordered off the regular menu & I tried the special 3 course meal during restaurant week...unfortunately not good. We love food on The Hill but this didn't work for us....very bland. I watch some of the Food Network cooking shows & they all stress seasoning the meat...this didn't taste seasoned at all. The tomato/mozzarella salad was nice but my salad with the multi course actually had brown lettuce & no taste. The risotto must not have been cooked slow&long because it was soupy. The salmon was dry. Our waitress was so sweet & willing to please but the bottom line is I want good food & it didn't happen here."

"We went for the Hill's First Restaurant Week and were pleasantly surprised. Having been to Restaurant Week in other neighborhoods before we knew what to expect but there were so many menu options on the Restaurant Week menu, my dining companion didn't even bother opening the regular menu.
The salmon w/ spinach tortellini was amazingly delicious. The gnocchi is a little bland but can be spiced up with some Parmesan, salt and pepper.
The portions were perfectly-sized (not too small despite a 3-course meal) and I feel like we underpaid for this fantastic meal despite giving a generous tip. I will be returning to Lorenzo's for the salmon based on this meal."

"Food is always consistent and good. Red wine by the glass options are a bit limited and a few more would be helpful. Was disappointed to see longtime favorite snapper dish has been replaced with a lesser fish. Waiter explained it was for cost reasons, but I'd have been willing to pay a little more for the original. "Food and service were very good. The penne pasta was al dente with just the right amount of sauce. The barramundi was nicely prepared and tasty. We boh enjoyed salads for starters and dessert to complete the meal - both the hazelnut gelato and the traditional cheesecake were delicious."

"Fantastic food with excellent service. Went on a quiet night so very nice atmosphere. The food was very good and the portion size was amazing. My wife had the veal risotto and I had the Osso bucco. Both were fantastic. Really recommend trying this place if you are near the Hill in St Louis. Spoke with the manager and asked how they could serve this much food and he said next time you are out we want you to come here. Next time we return to St Louis we will be back."

"Service was friendly as soon as you walked into the restaurant. Atmosphere is a little dark which was perfect. Seafood linguine was recommended by the server and it was indeed very good. The arancini appetizer was also outstanding. Prices were a little on the high end, but we felt we got our money worth."

It is not a lot of red sauce as it is Northern Italian and more gourmet cooking than your less expensive Italian restaurants. Our meals averaged around $20.00 per person."
