"We went for an early Mothers Day dinner, with reservations. The place filled up really fast so the service seemed a little disorganized. It was hard to get our servers attention and our wine came halfway through our dinner. However, the food was great! I had the seafood risotto which had a wonderful flavor, with hints of orange and other savory spices.
Definitely worth going back, but I'll avoid a holiday or special event time."

"We go to Parizade frequently. The service was prompt and good as always, but couple of items that we ordered need to corrected. Roasted Vegetable Flat Bread -- the toppings were fine but the homemade flat bread need to be corrected -- it was thick and "doughy" (not very appetizing). The Fettuccine Bolognaise ordered by my wife was not tasty -- Chef needs to see how he could make it more palatable. The Shrimp Giorgios that I ordered was good as always. This is a constructive criticism as we like Parizade and would want it to make dishes consistently."

"We enjoyed our dinner over graduation weekend. John, our server, congratulated our grad and made her feel like the guest of honor. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our only disappointments were that the "fried green tomatoes" were not fried and the mussels were not the best. All of the entrees were delicious. Thanks again, John, for your excellent service."

"When we made reservations we clearly said we had to be at DPAC by 7:15 for a play. We were promptly seated for our 5:45 reservation, ordered wine and it was served within 5 minutes.... then they did not appear again for our food order until 55 minutes later.... we had to select something that could be cooked quickly... it was not done enough to eat.... we were late for our play. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

"I had eaten at Parizade once before -- years ago when they first opened. I was visiting from out of state and remember it as being very good. Now I live in the Triangle area and just had not been back. The ambiance is very nice. The food was wonderful and our server was attentive without hovering. A really nice combo in a restaurant. "We had a lovely dinner that had a lot of confusion due to two of the guests being doctors, and the restaurant rolled with it with ease. Food was very good, waiter gave good recommendations (and de-boned a whole fish at the table quite professionally), and we could hear! All in all a very nice evening, and we will certainly recommend and be back!"

"This was our first time to Parizade. The service and the wine were perfect. While the food had great taste and flavor, it was overcooked. Both fish dishes we had were over cooked and the whole fish didn't seem fresh. The Mahi Mahi over pasta had great taste, but again the fish was over cooked and the pasta was way past al dente."

"We have been to Parizade many times over our years in Durham and have always enjoyed the experience. Last night we wanted a special night of great food, good wine and a leisurely dinner in an outdoor, romantic atmosphere. Parizade delivered. Our waiter was perfect, just the right amount of attention, but left us alone to enjoy our conversation. His recommendations and knowledge of the menu were very helpful. We brought our own vintage wine and he generously waived the corkage fee which wasn't expensive in the first place. They even have a petite size for a dessert, just right. Our 2 hour outdoor dinner was perfect. We left grateful to have a place nearby that delivers great food and service in a truly "let us take care of you" atmosphere."

"Food was great, the calamari is always well prepared and the bolanese was delicious, but portions were small for the price this last visit for some reason. We were there 3 hours and between the appetizers and the entrees seem to take about 45 minutes. We have eaten here before numerous times and never had such a delay of that duration. Overall, we enjoy the food here and used them to cater our wedding, so we know the food is always top knotch as it was that evening. Maybe it was an off night, because they did have some large groups using the private dining rooms who did take away alot of the staffs' time it seems."

"This best word to describe this place is O.K. It is like the a limited version of the cheesecake factory. Especially, the decor. When we sat down we had to wait about 5 minutes for somebody to come over and take our drink order (actually, to even bring the drink menu), all the while there were 4 or 5 waitstaff just standing around. Overall, the server put more effort into making sure we had cracked pepper and parm than actually being friendly and speedy. Then they brought the table bread, which is just some wheat bread with olive oil (no effort). At least throw in some herbs or something. The food was not bad, but very bland. I got the scallops that were herb crusted, and I honestly did not taste any flavor."

"The food was very good! Creative and interesting without leaving me wonder what exactly was on my plate. The Parizade salad is a delightful starter and the bananas Napoleon left us wishing we had room to eat another one.
It was quiet enough that we could enjoy each other's conversation without having to strain or shout. The restaurant itself is decorated with oddly proportioned ceiling and wall paintings featuring exaggerated nudes. Rather fun. We were disappointed that there was a TV over the bar, but, at least it wasn't loud. There were no children at all present, which we appreciated, since it was our date night, away from ours. :-)"

"Service was a little slow but once Grand (I think his name was Brandon but hubby disagrees), our server, came to ask for our drink orders, service went well after that.
The fresh Red Snapper was excellent and Grand did a fine job of deboning at table. Hubby really enjoyed the tenderloin with peppercorn sauce. The meat and asparagus were excellently prepared. Also was pleased that wine choices "by the glass" were of good quality!
There was a little "miss-communication" about dessert but the Bananas Royale was excellent (Port would have been a nice complement during the dessert).
Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and ambiance was perfect!"

"We were there for Valentine's dinner. It was decorated with balloons and the tables were sprinkled with tiny hearts and stars. Very romantic for the special night. The service was unexpectedly friendly, quick and efficient for such a busy night. Portion size was great for the price. Food was great. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend."

"Beautiful place and good food. That said, something must have changed here as the SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE.
Without a doubt the worst service we have experienced at ANY restaurant in the last 3-5 years.
Had 7pm reservations. Got to table 1/2 hour later. Asked for water at least 5 times and finally had it delivered (no exaggeration) 50 minutes later after getting up and asking to speak to the manager.
Ordered cocktails--they brought mine perhaps 25 minutes later but forgot my wife's . It took close to 25 MORE minutes to at last have her drink delivered--and it came only after I spoke to manager.
Don't have space here to address the horrible parking situation.....it will be a long time before we give it another chance"

"My husband and I are fairly new to the area, and this was our first time trying to find a "fancy" restaurant in Durham. Overall, we were pleased with the experience, and we would go back to Parizade, although we'll probably try some other places in between for variety.
We tried the calamari and the baked goat cheese for appetizers. The calamari was good, although not particularly memorable. The goat cheese was excellent! My husband had the paella and liked it; I enjoyed the stuffed duck breast. We tried the orange cake and the black velvet praline torte for dessert. Both were good but not outstanding; we preferred the torte.
Our server was a bit awkward but sufficiently attentive, and the pacing of the meal was fine."

"As a first time guest, I had lunch and found the service to be excellent and the food delicious and nicely prepared. The entrees appeared appeasing and the ingredients were very fresh. The room was very spacious. I was able to have a conversation without raising my voice. I will definitely return in the near future."
