Review 2 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"THe food was exquisite--everything was executed beautifully and service was attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. Two special dishes of note were the chive dumplings (sublime) and the grouper which was strangely delicate and strong at the same time. I would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat."

Review 4 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"We have had brunch at the Ritz ( which is amazing by the way) and were looking forward to the Asian twist and the dim sum. My wife lived in Asia for several months and it has proved difficult to find anything close to authentic in S. Florida. I was envisioning an indoor/outdoor brunch with lots of foliage and water features, having not been to the hotel. We were seated in a narrow room facing Collins Ave where the tables were crowded together. There was live jazz music which bordered annoying, rather than relaxing. 3 choices on dim sum (all bad). Try to guess what you could have prepared fresh...terrible presentation. The Thai food was the only highlight. The rest you could find at any hotel buffet. We drank our $68 worth!"

Review 6 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"Chose the winter spice Menu (where you select 3 dishes and the restaurant selects a dish for you. First dumpling (restaurant selected) was delicious, as were the appetizers (lobster bisque, tuna skewers). However the mains were extremely disappointing, especially the Florida shrimp and Noodles, and the glazed salmon (did not even come with oyster fritters it promised). Both were terrible, especially the shrimp. Also, the cocktails took about 20 minutes each to prepare and be brought to the table, though the servers were nice and informative. An OK restaurant for appetizers and soups, but for the price you pay it is not worth it. Last night had dinner somewhere far tastier for half the price we paid here. Not a first choice."

Review 12 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Had a spectacular dining experience at Setai. Encyclopedic menu was too much for my group so Chef chose for us. What a good move! Food was scrumptious, varied and arrived with perfect spacing. Loved everything but particular favorites were shallot dumplings, duck and black cod. In addition to wonderful food, the restaurant is gorgeous."

Review 16 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"This place is too overpriced given the quality of the food. The flavors and the quality of the food is barely above that of a PF Changs...in fact, PF Changs is actually preferable. The portions are decent and the descriptions of the food are impressive. Unfortunately the food itself is not that great. The flavors are not worthy of a top-notch, "white glove" service restaurant. The prices reflect what the restaurant wants to be, not what it is.

That said, the drinks are amazing and the ambiance are too die for. The decor and the outdoor garden/grove area are amazing. Setai is highly recommended as a gathering spot to drink, just not to dine.

Review 18 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"One of the best restaurants in Miami Beach. I had great red snapper with awesome spicy sauce. My friend had the best roast pork and sticky buns you can find anywhere. The staff were very friendly, courteous, and professional. The sommelier recommended great white wine. It was a little too quiet, of course, it was a Sunday night, in the middle of the recent arctic blast. Overall, I recommend it to anyone. I will definitely go back."

Review 21 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"Food was very good, service was mostly good....a tad inconsistent.Had to ask for table to be cleaned when we were done after several minutes.
It is unusual menu, innovative and delicious, with the exception of a side plate of eggplant that comes with the meal.Too hot and not a good combo of flavors at all.I happen to like eggplant,so it surprised me I could not eat it.
the setting is beautiful, the menu pricy as expected.Overall a good experience.

Review 23 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"Very pretty price. Prices are insanely high. Wine list mark ups look to be in the range of 350-400%, although they have a closeout list with some good values. We got there late, around 930, but toward the end of the evening, they turned the lights up and started cleaning up the joint. Not exactly luxe..."

Review 24 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"I took my friend to the Restaurant at the Setai for his birthday. We both loved it! From the moment we were greeted when we entered we felt welcomed. It was later in the evening on a Monday night so it was very quiet even though we were seated close to the kitchen as they were wrapping up for the night. Our waiter was knowledgeable and courteous and left us impressed. There are no words for the food. We had the dim sum as an appetizer and while most of the pieces were delicious, the crab balls were phenomenal! We thoroughly enjoyed our whole red snapper with tamarind sauce. It was served with a sticky coconut rice but we also ordered the fried rice with prawns and chili sauce. We enjoyed them both."

Review 26 for The Restaurant at The Setai

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"The restaurant was practically empty, yet the service was still terrible. The waiter had an attitude. The food was good but It was WAY overpriced. Ridiculous wine list. Only a few bottles under 200 bucks. We paid 180 dollars for a 50 dollar bottle of wine. Many bottles in the 800 dollar range and above. We were staying in the hotel and EVERY meal was like this - terrible service [some servers barely spoke English], entrees brought out at different times[sometimes the table would be finished before someone finally got their entree], servers never checked back, and disappeared when we needed the check. Add to that, the ridiculous prices and the 20 percent they tack on for service. The waitstaff needs better training. Do not recommend."
