"Really nice outdoor setting. The review would have been better had the price been lower. The food was not worth the cost at all. I know it's hard to cook for a massive amount of people, but at 48 dollars a person you would expect much better quality and tasting food."

"Splash does not respect reservations. So if you want a table, make a reservation to stand on line. Service is horrible, noise level depending where you sit is so loud you can not hear the person across from you. The table are too large outside and too small inside. Food has sauces that squirted out of a bottle in unattractive designs. The cooked food was overcooked, the raw food was well presented. The service was slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Noise level where we were sitting was was high that we could not hear each other. If you can get a seat on in the front porch the outdoor view makes up for a lot, but still not enough."

"Took a family member to brunch at Splash to celebrate a milestone birthday. The food was wonderful, the service was attentive and we both had a delightful time overlooking the boats sailing on the Sound. I hope to return soon!"

"We went for the Sunday brunch. Outdoor dining was spectacular. Brunch buffet selection was excellent. Only problem was they didn't bus the buffet too well and by the time we started eating (230pm), the buffet had been pretty well picked apart and not restocked or replenished so by the time we lef,t there was basically not a a whole lot of food left either. The dessert table looked like it had been attacked by a bunch of sugar crazaed six year olds. The buffet area got pretty messy by the end of brunch which considerably detracted from the attractiveness of the food."

"We have eaten at Splash several times a) for the location by the water b) for the food. Our most recent trip confirmed that long waits, inexperienced staff and general chaos are a recurring theme here. This is a restaurant that rarely honors reservation times (even to eat inside). Our most recent experience for an 0830 reservation saw us seated (bad table) at 9pm, entrees arrived 1020pm (they had to sub one out as they had run out, and they forgot to order my wife's entree) finally ate at 1030pm. Food was pretty good but 2 hours of poor service eclipsed any positive experiences. This place needs to rethink the entire subject of service"

"Splash sits right above a sandy beach in Westport. The view is great and the food is good. The service I felt was somewhat slow for dinner on a weeknight at 6 p.m. The cost is very pricey... our bill for 4 people came to $260, and that is with no appetizers just food and drink. The swordfish with the crispy spinach was outstanding however. I was really disappointed that I put down that it was my parents 64th wedding anniversary and the waiter said he knew that and what would we like for dessert. We ordered a lava cake for 4 to share and they charged us $10 for that. I thought it should have been on the house, but he said he wasn't allowed to do that..... I"

"This restaurant is more hype than substance. The food can be good, but we received a steak cooked well done, when we had ordered medium-rare. Seating was based upon staff convenience vs. customer comfort. For the price, I would expect more. I will give Splash another chance."

"We moved to Manhattan recently, but made a special trip to Splash in Westport over the Memorial Day weekend, because we wanted to be reminded of "home"...and we were not disappointed. Spilling out from the restaurant onto the beach is such a bonus for our kids, because it gives them a bit of playtime after a satisfying brunch."

"I chose Splash for an end of the school year lunch. It has always been on my list of favorite restaurants, due to it's great food and excellent service. I thought it would be nice to sit out on the deck with it's lovely view and have a delicious lunch. Unfortunately, only the view met my expectations. The service was terrible and the food was so-so.
Just a quick highlight of the problems:
1. Our waiter was slow and in attentive. We had to reach out to him several times for service.
2. Items on the menu were unavailable.
3. The waiter did not know the menu, and dishes arrived to the table missing ingredients listed on the menu.
4. There were not enough menus.

"Went there on Saturday 5/18 and the food was delicious as always but the service was subpar. Had to wait 20 minutes after reservation time for a table. Once seated, didn't have a waiter approach the table for another 20 minutes. At that point we were informed that the specials were sold out so we ordered off of the menu. Not sure what the issue was because we never experienced this type of service here the previous times we came. Hopefully it was just an off night for them."

"Love the food here and the location on the water. Ask for an outdiir table when making reservation in summer. The only draw back to this restaurant (and I have been going there for years) is the time it takes to get seated at your table. They can't seem to guage reservation times well. "We've eaten at Splash a half-dozen times, but noticed a real deterioration in the service. I brought in a birthday cake and have it to the hostess. She never told our waiter! We were told our table would be ready in 2 minutes - 5 times over a 30-minute period. We were seated, had to ask for bread and had to ask 3 times for water. We ordered drinks and appetizers, and then our entrees 10 minutes later. The appetizers arrived, and so did the entrees, which we had to send back - no room on the table, and we actually wanted to eat and enjoy the delicious appetizers. As we left, our waiter apologized for the dinner service and said they're still working the kinks out. Hard to understand how there could still be kinks after this many years."

"I have been going to Splash or years. This was the worst experience I have ever had there.

"If you have time for a short drive from Rte 1 and want a beautiful setting/view and excellent food, this is the perfect place. As usual, there was a mix of regular and more ambitious options on the menu, never boring and very delicious. I enjoyed a wonderful, hot cauliflower soup and a sort of tempura tilapia with salad. Everything was excellent. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. And the view of the beach was spectacular."

"The hostess is truly a scatterbrain. When I cslled to secure a reservation, she told me there were no openings at 3:00 and I could get on a waiting list if I wished. I had never volunteeed any desire to dine at 3:00 and yet in HER mind, that was the only time during the day the restaurant could serve brunch. I told her that I should be able to decide when I wanted to eat, and she conceded that 11:00 am was full also, without my asking about 11:00. She was unable to decipher when there were openings at all-in the end I was put on a wait list for 2:00. Open Table was the way I was able to view restaurant openings at the various times throughout the day, and it turns out I was able to get a table at 2."

"Didn't realize we would be there for brunch - turns out that the brunch buffet was ludicrously overpriced and the food was par for your average diner/hotel buffet. Typical trough of eggs/bacon/etc. Had a "taco" which turned out to be cold chicken inside an uncooked tortilla. At $38 per person, the brunch is an absolute waste. Perhaps their normal menu is worth trying, and if it is, they should can the buffet. Massive disappointment, was looking forward to it for my wife's anniversary."

"We've been to Splash many times. They've added some new items to the menu which make it even better. I beleive that a number of them are from their sister restaurant Baang. I had the tenderloin scallopini which was wonderful. There were six of us and most people had the swordfish or the sea bass which are both great. The calamari salad is always a winner. Our waiter was very helpful describing the new dishes on the menu and the service was excellent. We come back again and again because we have never had a bad or even average meal at Splash!"

"As usual Splash made a big splash. Excellent fish dishes that are unique and delicious. But, their great food doesn't stop at the main course, I highly recommend their deserts as well."

"We were at the time when there was no people in there . That is why we like quiet atmosphere and the service. We like the decoration of the restaurant and the ocean view. The food was delicious. The sight disappointment was poor selection of the desert menue."

"My wife and I live in Westport and have been coming to Splash for more years than we can count. We used it as our default "special evening" restaurant mainly due to the high consistency in the quality of some dishes we enjoy (i.e. tuna tartar, crackling chicken salad). Much to our disappointment, on Valentine's Day we had to find out that the menu had changed and most of our favorites were gone. In addition, the service was painfully slow - as if a full house on Valentine’s Day came as a surprise and our waiter - bluntly speaking - looked like he had a very rough day and preceding night. We know they can do better and hope to see the old classics back on the menu."

"I had been here once before a couple years ago and wanted to come back. We had our reservation for 8:00, arrived at 8:05.... The hostess was no where to be found. A huge line of people at the door. We stood there at the host podium for about 20 minutes and no one had greeted us. We wouldn't have cared to have to wait a little longer for our reservation if they were backed up. But we never even had the chance to check in. Me and my boyfriend drove 40 minutes away to come here so we just left after 20 minutes and went to a different restaurant. Very disappointing and Valentines Day was pretty much a disaster for us."

"I have been to Splash on many occasions and have always been satisfied. However this visit was disappointing. Perhaps they were short staffed. After the starter it took about an hour for the entree to arrive. What's worse they brought the wrong dish. I was going to return it but decided to keep it because it would have taken another hour for the dish. The entree was also disappointing so we did not order dessert or coffee. All in all not a very good Valentine experience. Not sure whether I'll go there again. Please forward this to the restaurant.were understaffed but it tokk about an hour between starter and entree. The wrong entree was brought but I accepted it rather than wait another hour. Bad experience despite complimentary champagne."
