Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse is a Rush Street legend that has just added a location in Oak Brook. Big steaks, big drinks and big shots, that's what it's all about at Gibsons!
Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse Oak Brook boasts a large outdoor patio which has the capacity to seat 200 and includes a lounge area with three toasty fire pits, an Alpine Waterfall feature off the outdoor dining area and a full outdoor bar. Come in and enjoy dining on our patio or just sit around the fire pit with friends to sip some cocktails. Outdoor seating will be accommodated on a first come first serve basis.

"My wife and I went to Gibson's to celebrate our anniversary. The food was of excellent quality, and quite good. We had a debate whether it was better than Morton's, and decided Morton's is just a tad better. We went early, ~6PM, and it was reasonably quiet, but grew louder as it got later and the tables filled up. Our table was very close to the neighboring tables, which was our biggest issue. My chair kept getting bumped as wait staff and other patrons walked by. Overall, the service was top notch, the food was very good, and we had to be rolled out. Oh, almost forgot, this place has no parking lot, so it's all valet. Be sure to bring a fiver for the valet."

"The Service was incredible. I enjoyed the fried calamari and the sauce. The best Tom Collins I've ever tasted.The WR Chicago Cut was extremely tender. The Mac and 4 Cheese with andouille Sausage was delicious. My Son says the Barbecue ribs were off the chain as the young folk say...lol! My Wife, who never finishes her plate when we dine out, was simply in Heaven. The tilapia was simply Devine. She could not stop talking about it on the ride home. Definitely worth the price of admission."

"When we first arrived we were seated at a very tight table on top of another group with no room to even move our chairs. The staff was so accomodating and friendly and sat us at a table to our liking immediately and constantly returned to make sure we were happy. The only thing wrong with the New England Clam Chowder soup is they don't offer free refills - I could not get enough. All sides, made to share, were delicious. We had the twice baked potatoe, sauteed spinach and mushrooms. Everyone's steaks were cooked to perfection and my lamb chops, cooked med rare, were outstanding. Pricey, but for a special occasion you can't go wrong at Gibsons. I've been to other big name steakhouses and decided this will be my first choice."

"Finally a lovely day and we want to dine outside for lunch. So we remembered Gibson's. I love the Crab Avacado salad. The downside was the water fall had not been turned on for the season yet which was a little disappointing but did not ruin the experience."

"Excellent Food! Expensive but there are some items on the menu with some standard pricing - burger, salads, etc.
Server's presentation and recommendations almost make you feel obligated to purchase something extravagant.
I went for mother's day and we ordered some pricey items including the tomahawk cut steak.(Overrated, I do not recommend unless you like medium-well to well-done finish)
Crab and avocado appetizer is delicious. Best item we ordered by far."

"We were seated on a bench with four other tables in close proximity. We were in everyone's conversation because we were so close. The tables were so close that it was difficult to leave at the end of the meal without hitting somebody's plate. Extremely disappointed."

"The service was absolutely outstanding! We went for a special birthday lunch and sat on the patio on a perfect spring day. The lunch menu was affordable, the portions were the right size and it was delicious. As a birthday surprise they treated the birthday person to a full size dessert (their choice). The dessert picked for us was the Macadamia Turtle Pie which was big enough for all 6 of us to share and it was wonderful! We felt the only drawback to our meal was not being able to substitute a small salad for the fries, and even when it was requested not to have the fries at all they came anyway. It was just too tempting when trying to watch calories."

"Outdoor patio had great ambiance and was perfect for my business dinner of 8. We ordered the appetizer tower and the server knew to add just a few extra items to fit our group. Speaking of service it was impeccable. They had great recommendations on food selection and quantity, they were courtious, and kept the table clean the whole time. Also, dont forget to order dessert... one item is more than enough for the whole table. They are huge, impressive, and delicious!"

"Chicago is my home town but I had never been to Gibson's. Wow! If you like steak - this is your spot. This is fantastic meat. Grilled to perfection and tender beyond description. Be prepared to share unless you are The Fridge. The wonderful sides are more than plenty for two as well. The service was a team approach so someone was always watching to ensure the utmost attention is paid to the diners. Don't get me started on the desserts. Fantastic! Bring an army or just throw caution to the wind and dig in vowing to not eat for three days after. On a Thursday night the bar was hopping with live music and lots of great drink options. The people watching is also part of the fun. Reservations are a must . Enjoy!"

"Our server was friendly, but her attitude seemed to go a little south when she realized that 2 of the 3 in our party were just getting burgers, and not the more expensive entrees (smaller bill - smaller tip). She came back to check on us only once, and I had to waive her down to get a refill. At the end of the night, we were still all talking at the table and we were the only ones left in the room. Staff had started to move the tables back to the way they were before parties, moving things around. We must have been our servers last table because she stood against the while staring at us until we left, making us uncomfortable. If she wanted to go so bad, she should have had someone else cover her. Not pleased with that part of service"

"The steak (Chicago cut) was great. Had asparagus with it and was a first rate. Also had the loaded wedge and it started the food experience. We found the tables a bit too packed together, but this might be because we've been to the rosemont location during off hours so it was quiter and less crowded."

WE ORDERED THE FILETS DONE MEDIUM, THEY ARRIVED AT OUR TABLE AND WAITRESS ASKED US TO CUT INTO THEM AND THEY WERE MEDIUM RARE, UNCOOKED MIDDLE. NOW, THE STEAK HAS LOST ALL IT'S JUICES AND THEY TAKE THEM BACK TO RECOOK THEM A BIT, THEY COME BACK MEDIUM WELL. HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT, BUT WE DID NOT SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE WE KNEW WE WOULD NOT COME BACK! WE EXPECTED SUPERIOR FOOD PRESENTATION THE FIRST TIME SO I DON'T HAVE TO SEND THEM BACK.VERY DRY, TASTELESS, PLAIN PLATE PRESENTATION. JUST A STEAK ON A WHITE PLATE WITH A BERNAISE SAUCE FOR A FILLER.SERVICE WAS GREAT, BUT WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IF FOOD IS BAD?"

"I had the 9-oz. crab cake. Delicious; served with home-made French fries, cole slaw, and a tasty, tangy (not too much so) mayo sauce. One friend had the filet tenderloins with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was all wonderful. My other friend had Gibson's signature burger...cooked exactly as requested. Wow! What a lot of food! She took home half. Fresh-cut fries here, too.
Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. Our cocktails were first-rate. We'll be back!! Great experience!"

"We enjoyed a very memorable night with our children and grandchildren celebrating my husband's birthday. Everything abut the evening was exceptional. Everyone's meal was cooked to perfection. For anyone bringing children to Gibson's, be certain to ask your wait staff about children's items. Our waiter, Rick (OUTSTANDING!!!) catered to everyone at our table, making sure the kids (6-year-old boy and three 9-year-old girls) had as much fun as the adults."

"Had a great time there. Food was delicious, and plenty of it. Wine list very good. I've seen bigger ones, but they can get overwhelming. Service a bit slow at times, but waiter very friendly, and gave us dessert on the house to make up for the service. It really wasn't that slow, but it was a very nice touch, given that we were there to celebrate what would have been my fiancee's father's 86th b0day (he died three years ago), and he made the dessert on him for that reason too."
