"The cocktails were spot on, the dinners were excellently prepared (duck legs and short ribs) and the music of Lenny and Ray were the right touch. We couldn't help ourselves. We got up and started dancing. The next thing we knew others joined in. We closed the place down swinging and having a great time. We love this place!"

"Hello. We celebrated my son's high school graduation here and it was a hit all around, not always an easy task with my family. The ambience was very pleasant, the service very friendly and attentive--not too rushed, not too slow. Plus, they had live music--which was played softly in the background and was very relaxing. Several of us had steak entrees (filet mignon and top sirloin) which were excellent. My daughter had the eggplant roulade which she loved! Desserts were terrific too--esp. the tahitian vanilla creme broulee. Although we did not take advantage of it, their corkage fee for the first bottle ($5) was quite reasonable.
It is so nice to find a great, unpretentious local restaurant. I will definitely come back."

"The staff is welcoming and service very good. The outside patio wasn't open but it's a lovely space for summer dining. The menu is varied, with some unique small plates as well as full dinners. We'll be back."

"The manager was very nice and waiter pleasant enough, I guess. Food just fair and not at all like the reviews I read. A bit pricey for the quality of the food."

"I've eaten here before and it has been a pleasant experience in the past, but Mother's Day was not a shining moment. We were seated in the backroom, which eventually became apparent was the "out of sight out of mind" room. The food took a very long time. My wife didn't care for her meal, and asked for a pasta dish, which didn't arrive until everyone else was finished. The waitress was perfectly polite but obviously her attention was elsewhere. In the end we spent 2 hours having ordered only entrees. The manager should have offered some kind of discount, maybe a free dessert, to make up for the less than stellar experience. In the end, we walked out feeling pretty negative about the restaurant and are unlikely to return."

"Love the live music on Thurs. and Friday and small the plates menu continues to delight. I am not a fan of rare tuna but the combination of Tuna, Avocado and crisps is a true delight."

"This restaurant has great ambience. They have small plates and regular dinner and the food pairings are really interesting and delicious. The entertainment is low volume and in keeping with the ambience and food. I have eaten here several times and each time the food was excellent."

"Chablis is a great neighborhood restaurant for a delicious meal in a relaxed, cozy setting. We had a Saturday evening dinner with friends and the experience was excellent for all four of us. A group of us women hosted a daytime wedding shower for 40 at Chablis and once again the food and the service were outstanding."

"We loved the food!!! My friend and I shared a Caesar Salad w/shaved cheese--yummy--and THE MOST AMAZING SHORT RIB SANDWICH!!!!!--with roasted red pepper, sauteed mushrooms, carmelized onion and melted cheese--mouth-watering good! Less than one week after my first experience, I'm going back with another friend. I can't stop talking (or thinking) about this wonderful restaurant!"

"Great hidden gem. I've driven by the place many times and was always curious, so I decided to try it. What a treat! The place is small but quaint. They have a musician who performs while you're eating so you get a dinner and a show. The food was really good. I ordered the filet mignon, and my friend ordered the mussels. The wine list was small but they had a good selection. We both ordered an Australian Malbec and it was wonderful. The atmosphere feels like a friendly neighborhood spot. It was obvious very quickly that many patrons that evening were regulars. I will definately be back and will consider this place a go to in the Tarzana area."

"Great food. Awful service. We had an 8:00 reservation and were not seated until 9:00. The hostess never came to check on us. After speaking with her twice, we finally spoke to one of the managers who was not even aware that we had been waiting that long. They comped us a bottle of wine, but not sure if we'll be back. For those who want to dine here, the food was good. Some notable dishes: mac and cheese, sea bass, peppercorn steak, ahi tuna stack."

"The place was packed with happy customers. The food was, as usual, excellent. The $5 corkage is exceptional. The wonderful music of Lenny and Ray is just the right touch. We couldn't help ourselves. We got up and started dancing the night away. My wife said the next day what a wonderful evening that was. Ah, romance is in the air."

"We opted to try this restaurant based on its reviews. It did not disappoint. We knew to expect a longer than usual wait to receive each course, which was fine. It feels more European in this regard. Dinner is your evening's event, and it allows you to enjoy good food and friends without staff anxiously waiting to turn your table. It also means there are no microwaves in the kitchen and each meal is prepared fresh when ordered. Two had the filet, and I had the rib eye. Each was perfection and very tender. The vegetables were tasty too. If there was one complaint, two of us felt the chef was a bit too heavy handed with the black pepper in the sauce. Service - outstanding. The singer was great, and we enjoyed him while dining on the patio."

"We were greeted and seated promptly on St. Patrick's Day evening. Our waitress, Priscilla, was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent (we had the Tornados of Filet Mignon and the Lamb Loin. The wine service was perfect (uncorked, decanted, poured and glasses refilled when nearly empty). The $5 corkage fee was very reasonable. We had a romantic evening (dined over 2 hours and weren't the least bit rushed by the attentive staff). I look forward to going back."

"My fourth visit. As before, I found the food to be very good. Prices are moderate. A real gem of a place. The owner and wait staff are welcoming and attentive. That said, for the life of me I can't understand why they're so slow in the kitchen. The wait for salads took almost an hour. Guests at an adjacent table also complained about the slow service. All this on a weekday night when there were very few patrons in the place. Love this restaurant and will likely return, but they're going to go under if they don't step up their game."

"My wife and I love Chablis. The food and service is very consistent. When you dine at Chablis, don't expect fast food preps. The evening is very leisurely. It is a place where you need to take your time, have great conversation, and enjoy the weekend music. Ah, the music. We started dancing and the next thing we know, couples from other tables joined in. Lenny and Ray play music from the American Song Book. Chablis is a restaurant for the romantic in us. Oh, and the short ribs are to die for."

"Went for the first time for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend last night.
The place has a really good atmosphere - inside and a cool secluded little outdoor patio. Plus, they have live music (a jazz guitarist/keyboardist). Nothing better than live music!
The wait staff seemed a little flustered (that might just be from the Valentine's day crowd).
Food is really great. Perfect portions. And seriously rich and delicious. PLus, I always love a place with great bread and they had fantastic bread out.
Pricing was decent. I spent $90 before tip for a bottle of wine, a ceased salad, and a fillet mignon dinner all off the Valentine's Day menu."

"My wife and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner. I made a reservation in advance via OpenTable, and at the restaurant's website I saw that they had a special Valentine's Day menu. I noticed that their Special Menu had some similar items as their regular dinner menu, but that the Valentines' Day menu was jacked up between $5-$10 more! This did not sit well with me. We went and ate anyway; I was told we had to order from the special menu. The food and service were fine; no problems and no complaints. However, knowing that they charged a premium for Valentine's Day diners without adding any extras left me irritated. This is not good public relations or how to increase new customers. There are many other places in the Valley to eat!"

"I really loved the food here. I took my lady for Valentines day and after reading the reviews about the wait and amount of time it takes to get food I didn't have high expectations. The hostess seemed to not really know what she was doing but everything else there was great. The food was perfectly cooked and quality was phenomenal. I've been looking for good restaurants in my new neighborhood and I'm so stoked I found this place. We'll definitely be coming back here soon."
