"It was my son's high school graduation party with his 92 year old Aunt Kate. The food and service capped our special day. My wife and I both said that we would come back with our friends to experience the food again. Thanks for making our occasion so wonderful. The Swansons"

"My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary - it was perfect. The food was fabulous. Service was excellent. Price was good too; with drinks and an appetizer, your meal could get pricey - but we fully expected that and weren't blown away when we got the bill. The atmosphere is also great - they play Italian music and it sets the mood well. Definitely a new favorite and I'm sure we'll go again!"

"I believe this is my 5th time to La Volta in the last 3 years. Lunch is wonderful and the pannini's are to die for. My last visit was with a group of 10 on Mother's Day and we had a marvelous dinner and service was great. We did eat early, because we had tickets to Drowsy Chaperone. Everything was fantastic except for the room temperature. Where we were sitting the air condition was working too well and very drafty. That would be my only negative."

"This was my third visit to La Volta, and each time I am impressed with the consistency of the service and the food. This is very good Italian food, solid, well presented and delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The wine list is limited, but the choices are good, and the value is actually very good. The eggplant rolatini is quite good, and is a great appetizer. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food. When in Raleigh near the convention center, I would certainly go back again."

"The food and service was very good. True to traditional Italian dining, the chef was accommodating of special requests, the pasta tasted homemade and the sauces were excellent. The waiter was experienced and very responsive to our needs. Unfortunately, it was excessively loud and crowded with students. The bar was elbow-to-elbow and overflowing into the restaurant. There were at least two very large and loud parties seated in the middle of the restaurant that should have been in a private room. I could not hear the person seated across from me, but I could hear everything going on at the adjacent table. Be aware if you go, the food is very good, but I don't think they know how turn anyone away."

"My dinner was not hot- served lukewarm. I hate lukewarm. When dinner was served I did not have a fork. Asked server for. Fork. Never got it. Took a fork off empty table. I understand noise level but we did have trouble hearing one another."

"The difference between a good restaurant and a great restaurant? Great food and excellent service. La Volta remains our favorite on every level. They really do try to provide the best experience for each table, and they take "when you are with us, your family to heart". We have dined here several times and we are never treated as strangers, but rather family.
And the food is just excellent. Mama makes all of the desserts. The bread is awesome and freshly baked. The entrees are reasonably priced. I look forward to going again because it just keeps getting better and better."

"I went with 3 friends before going to the theater. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly (and Italian!) Everything we ordered was delicious. It was raining so the free valet parking was very much appreciated, and it was very simple."

"We were going to th NC Symphony after dinner and the location was perfect. We were able to have our car parked by the valet and walk to our performance, then afterwards came back to the bar to have a cocktail before going home. The food was good my Veal Saltimvoca was delicious, my husbands bolenese was fair,too munch tomato and not enough cream and meat flavor. The staff was very welcoming and eager to please! The wine was delicious!!"

"La Volta was great. I was in town for a conference with a small group and had no trouble with our reservations. We had to call and change times twice due to speakers at the conference going over time. They had no trouble each time we called adjusting our time. Food was excellent and service was just as good."

"We had a reservation and were seated immediately. However, no server came for quite some time. Others near us who were seated after us had drink and in some cases even food orders taken whereas we hadn't seen a server. I finally went to the hostess and asked if our server would be coming. She said there had been some confusion between the indoor and outdoor seating. At that point our server came and took our order -- but there was no apology, and the service really didn't get better. We had to ask twice for parmesan cheese and had to flag down the server, who was rather stoic throughout the meal, whenever we needed anything (the service was reactive rather than proactive).

This was our second visit; don't know if there will be a third."

"The location was perfect for an evening at the performing arts center and the atmosphere is excellent for any relaxed evening meal with friends and family. The service was good but just a touch anxious to remove drinks and dinner plates.
The entertainment had us slightly cramped for space but overall I'm looking forward to our next outing to La Volta."

"Menu was limited due to Valentine's Day but I enjoyed most of what I had. Pasta Fagioli was weak. I should've gone with the waiter's recommendation of the Italian Wedding soup.

I'd recommend watching the floor plan (squeezing in tables) some placements were directly in the path of diners/servers. Fortunately I requested not to be seated at one of them and my request was granted. I watched people bump into that table all night long which would've made for an awful evening if I'd sat there. A foot to the right would've made all the difference.

I'll go back to see check out their regular menu and see how they really work out Italian."
