Co-Owners Brian Piccini and Executive Chef Christopher Coombs are proud of their award winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay. The inspiration behind the restaurant’s American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence. The cuisine is strongly rooted in the nouvelle techniques of contemporary French cuisine, married with the splendor of American ingredients in a refined, but casual setting. Deuxave’s (pronounced doo-ave) name plays homage to its location at the corners of Commonwealth Ave and Massachusetts Ave.

"Food and Service are always excellent. Very nice menu choices with plenty of wine selections by the glass. We come here often before attending the BSO and it makes for a great night out in Boston. the Lobster Pasta Appetizer, Duck Breast and deserts, were out of this world. Will be back for sure!"

"I found this place by chance on Open Table and had a most memorable meal. I did not realize the chef specialized in the preparation of duck and it was prepared four different ways on the menu. Our family tried the confit, the spiced Long Island duck breast and the foie gras. All were superb. Service was smooth and efficient and the server was very knowledgeable about the menu ."

"This is where my girlfriend and I went on our first date and are happily together after a full year. :) I recommend Deuxave to all my friends as a quiet romantic place where you can get to know a nice lady. The staff is also handsome and pretty. The food was fairly priced, I would even say under priced for the quality and portion size we received. I really enjoyed their wine list. They are more than open to you sampling the wines of the nights to fit your meal. That is sometimes hard to get at pricer places."

"Both food and service was impeccable. Our waiter was very warm and attentive. The halibut and the duck were uniquely prepared and delicious. Our only complaint was the noise level. Tables were too close together and it was difficult to hear my husband over the noisy person sitting at the table next to me."

"Dinner at Deuxave was everything we hoped it would be. The food was delicious especially the heirloom beet salad and the halibut entree. The wine list was extensive with a number of good choices at different price ranges. The one thing that made our dinner less than perfect was the waiter. He spent too much time talking about his qualifications as a waiter, and was rather bothersome. Once we made our food choices, he never came back to check in. We would definitely go back again, as long as we can avoid him."

"My wife and I dined at Deuxave last night. First, let me say our server Andrew was knowledgeable, engaging and there when we needed him. We loved the ambiance of the room! My wife had the beets and chicken. I had the 9 hour french onion soup and the duck breast. The beets were perfectly cooked and had great taste and were matched with a creamy chèvre that was again perfect! The chicken had a texture (special process) that I have never tasted before - moist but firm - excellent! The 9 hour french onion soup was the best I ever had. Deeply rich broth and onions that added a delicate sweetness to each spoonful of broth, cheese and bread. The duck was sliced thin and very tender and the lentils were perfectly cooked.
We will be back!"

"I have been the Deuxave a few times now and have had spectacular meals every time. "A group of us go out to dinner twice a year when we go to annual meetings of our professional associations. Since these meetings are not in our home towns we rely on reviews. Was a little nervous about Deuxave - didn't know how to pronounce it and there were some odd comments in some of the reviews. Not to worry! We had an excellent meal with excellent service. Form our greeting at the door through the dessert. I had their version of a margarita in honor of Cinco de Mayo which with the addition of hot pepper was quite tasty. Our salad and main courses were fresh. My friends had the haddock which they said was superb. My crispy chicken was yummy. Dinner ended with a chocolate souffle which was perfect."

"Visiting Boston, my husband and set aside a night for upscale dining. Wine list...awesome! The heirloom beet starter with walnuts and a soft white cheese was delicious and I usually gravitate away from beets. We devoured the New York strip steak with a variety of mushrooms and wonderful sauces. On to dessert... one of the desserts was the cheese plate to accompany the wine that remained after the last bite of steak. The other was a heavenly combination of candied citrus, homemade banana ice cream, chocolate mousse and crunchy praline bites. The presentation of our selections was deliberate and pleasing to the eye. Absolutely stimulating food in a setting blending modern and rustic elements."

"We found it difficult to decide as the menu was fantastic. The amuse bouche was a wonderful ceviche. The lobster gnocchi and the halibut were outstanding. The service was efficient and friendly, pitched at just the right level of formality. Refreshingly we were reassured that Boston tap was pretty good. The only up selling was the slight suggestion to order hand cut fries which weren't needed as the mains were well accompanied with potatoes and vegetables. We were unhurried throughout which was great as we were entertaining a colleague I had bumped into at a conference earlier that day. All in all a wonderfully relaxed but top quality evening which while not inexpensive was certainly good value for the standard of food, wine and service."

"Dinner on Monday night, so nice and quiet. Given small flutes of champagne to start- Great beginning! Our waiter was perfect: helpful, available, attentive, but not overbearing. Pace of the meal also perfect. But food was the best part. Crispy duck and onion soup for appetizers were outstanding. Lamb and halibut were beautifully and unusually prepared, and displayed artistically. The flavors were intriguing; we loved the combinations! We were full, but had to order dessert. We were not disappointed: the chocolate banana combination hit every note.
Another nice touch: I ordered a glass of wine and was given a taste before being poured a generous glass.
We will be back. This is one of the best meals we've had in Boston!"

"From the moment we walked in we were treated graciously. The waitress was wonderful - friendly and very informative - the wine recommendations were excellent. The meal was exceptional, both in flavor and presentation. I have never had duck before and it was well worth the wait to have had the first taste here. And the crispy chicken was extraordinary. I also definitely recommend leaving a little room for dessert. The only exception to entire experience (and the meal was an amazing experience) is the dark corners and mirrors which to me are very distracting. I have already told friends of my visit and know they and I will make a return visit."

"Wow. I was in a party of three; each of us ordered a cocktail, a first course, an entree, and dessert. None of us ordinarily drink cocktails, but these sounded extraordinary and they were. Tables were arranged with plenty of room and they seemed almost private. Service was simply perfect -- no rush, but very attentive. And the food was outstanding. Each dish deserved to have its picture taken, but after the initial WOW of the appearance, we loved every bite. Every course, tried by each of us, got a rave review. I will definitely return."

However, towards the end of the night, he did come back around, and was very nice.
I am looking forward to going back to Deuxave (and I will order an entree next time! ;))

"I had such a lovely meal at Deux Ave. all the food was beautifully prepared, fresh, and seasonal. Chicken served with 2 plump truffle ravioli, and a tangle of watercress, fiddleheads, pickled spring onions and artichokes was marvelous. Duck pate, lobster with gnocchi ...yum!
There was a nice selection of wines by the glass. And the waitress was very knowledgeable when it came to pairing them with our meal.
