"We made reservations for our 47th Anniversary which was noted on our Open Table Reservation and had a exceptional meal with exceptional table service , It appeared that our 47th anniversary was not passed along to the restaurant as it was never mentioned by the receptionist, waiter etc. and we were simply sandwiched in between couples along a side wall of tables. However excellent Food and excellent table service but frankly it did not feel like a special occasion."

"Worse dinner I every had, lamb chops luke warm and vegetables were also. I sent it back for fish. Fish was hot and ok. I always had excellent dinners at Dock's even on holidays, but this was a great disappointment."

"Made a reservation for 2 at 7:00 pm on a Saturday night, arrived at 6:45pm and had a really nice drink at the bar, sat down at Exactly
7:00. The bartender tipped us off to the seafood tower for two, so we ordered that first . I had the broiled red snapper and my wife ordered the 2 1/4 pound lobster. Everything was cooked just right and very fresh. We can't wait to get back there."

"This is one of my favorites but on this visit took way too long to get the wine and then waitress did not tell us all the specials ( forgot about the soft shell crabs thankfully I asked). It's still the best seafood around but I think I will hit knife and fork next time service is better."

"Have not been here in two years. But it didn't disappoint. Best restaurant in AC
Great seafood selections. Very attentive service. Brought friends who were told by two locals this was the best in AC. I was afraid they would be let down after the glowing recommendations. But they loved it.
Lots of fresh oysters and clams. The most potent horseradish I've ever had in a restaurant. Terrific sofetshell crabs and sauteed crab entrees. My wife loved her salmon dish.
Nice to see it is consistent."

"What a great restaurant. It was our first time there and I am going to be coming back often. The oysters are outstanding. I had the lamb chops for dinner and they were absolutely perfect. "Dock's is my absolute favorite restraunt. We stayed in Somers Point NJ for the weekend and drove 30min to AC just for Dock's.
This night we had the appetizer medley
2 jumbo grilled shrimp 2 clams casinos 2 oyster Rockefeller
The diver sea scallops are out of this world. Large sweet and perfectly seared and cooked. Served w/ mashed potatoes & sautéed spinach. My husband ordered the crab cakes w/ roasted red pepper sauce came w/ baked potato & veggie medley.
Never a bad meal. Seafood is the best around!"

"My husband and I ate dinner here, not realizing that the restaurant was not associated with one of the hotels. We were very pleasantly surprised when we got there. "We researched for a while before settling on Dock's for my husband's birthday dinner. I was trying to find a place that had great Steak, and seafood. This place was it! The service was awesome, the place is lovely. I had the fish of the day which was Fluke, had never had it but the Waiter recommended it. It was excellent. My husband, Mr. steak and potatoes, had the Filet. Cooked perfectly he loved it and said it was the best Steak he had out ever! We also had the Tempura fried asparagus as a starter. They were amazing! Loved Dock's...can't wait to go back next year!!"

"This place is awesome! I looked up some seafood places on Google and this was ranked #2 on the site I was on. I think it should have been ranked number 1 in my case. I wanted to take my boyfriend somewhere special for his birthday and this was the best place I could have picked out. I made a reservation online early in the day and requested a booth. The staff was really attentive and friendly. I felt at home and not being rushed at a regular restaurant in the city so they can get more business. I also loved the romantic feel.They made you feel like you were part of the family. the food is great and their lobster tail is crazy!!! Red lobster has some big competition when it comes to lobster tails! I recommend this place!"

"Superb food, one hour wait with confirmed reservation five weeks in advance.
We made an OpenTable reservation for two five weeks in advance. Arrived early and at 7:00 PM reservation time, no one was ahead of us. We were told the wait would be 15 minutes. We were seated one hour later. Numerous parties of four were arriving and were being almost readily seated. No effort was made to split many tables for two that were pushed together to accommodate four."

"Dock's Oyster House continues to be one of the finer restaurants in Atlantic City. There is a wide variety of specialties on the menu so it is not hard to find the food you want. My wife had the potato crusted flounder which was cokked to perfection and it melted in her mouth. I started off with a dozen oysters which were delicious. My entree was lobster which also cooked to perfection. Dock's is our restaurant of choice whenever we are in Atlantic City. We highly recommend this place"

"We were there to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. All the review sites listed Docks as #1 in Atlantic City with good reason. The food was delicious, the portions huge, and it was a lot cheaper than any of the fine dining establishments located in the casinos. We got the ribeye and a 2 1/2 lb lobster which they removed the lobster meat from the shell for us. The waiter recommended their house wine which was excellent. The only negative was the fact that all the tables were packed in too close together. I could hear most of the conversations of the tables on either side of us and everyone walking by kept bumping into us because there was no room to walk through."

"Dock's Oyster House is an historic, family-owned and operated restaurant on the main drag (Atlantic Avenue) in Atlantic City. If you don't mind escaping the casino hustle and bustle for dinner, this is THE place to go in AC. They have valet parking, so no problem driving there. We had the tempura asparagus and seafood tower appetizers. Both were excellent! We had a filet mignon and swordfish special for dinner - again both very good! The steak was a bit undercooked, but their 12 ounce filet rivals AC's much more expensive casino steakhouses. All of the seafood is better than what you can get in the casino restaurants. The bar here is decent too. Nice "live" piano music by David! Highly recommended!"

"There's no more fitting spot for a dinner in AC with its shore location. Doc's carries a great seafood tradition, combining longstanding favorites with new dishes and fresh preparations. As importantly, it represents a glimpse of what was a more upscale and grounded A.C. inthe heart of town...a walk or short cab ride from most of hotels/casinos. The food is excellent, service attentive and friendly and the whole team throughout the house is exceptionally accommodating. This was the second year that we hosted a large business dinner and we had an excellent time. We'll definitely return next year!"

"Forget the boardwalk and the hotels and head on over to Dock's Oyster House. We made our reservation with open table for 8:30, arrived on time and our party of five was promptly seated in this bustling neighborhood gem. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. Excellent raw bar with fresh, cold clams and oysters as well as the best Clams Casino I've ever had. Every course arrived at our table in no time at all and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. If I only had one thing I could do while staying in AC, it would be to go to Dock's!"

"Our waitress was Helen and she was GREAT! I had the cold appetizer for two as my main entree and it was wonderful. The seafood was so fresh it was amazing. The New England clam chowder was the BEST I ever had and the Arugula salad was to die for! For dessert I had the Key Lime Pie and it too was very good. Everyone left there full and happy!"

"Great food - one of the best restaurants that I have eaten at in AC. Do not be deceived by the name. The restaurant has meat as well as fish. I had an incredible lamb entree, my wife the pecan crusted salmon and my friend a 12 oz filet Mignon. You will not be disappointed by the menu, home made desserts, wine selections and service."

"My husband and I dined here to start off the Memorial Day Weekend.
Every time we eat here the dinner is the best. Tonight was no different. The Ahi Tuna, along with my husband's Sea Scallops, were superb. Our waitress was delightful and the service was great. Can't wait to eat here again!!"

"Dock's oyster house has the best seafood I've enjoyed in a long time. The decor is early 20th century with wood, warm colors and wainscoat. The service was excellent, friendly and very attentive. We were told more than once to take our time. No pricier than other fine seafood restaurants, my $28 pan seared red snapper was perfection. A large portion, served on a demi glace, with lump crab meat, asparagus and bernaise sauce was perfection. An extensive wine list, specialty martinis, espresso all completed the meal, along with a shared creme brulee. A perfect meal."

"Always in my top 5 restaurants. The bartenders are awesome, they always remember your drink. The hostess always makes you feel welcome. The food itself is always well prepared. The tower of shell fish is what keeps me coming back, its fresh and incredible. So good."

"Fresh seafood perfectly prepared. That is all you really need to know.
Docks may be hard to get a reservation because it is a small landmark restaurant but its worth the effort. Our server was Terri and she took the time to go over each special including the prices. We had the clans - so fresh they must have been caught that day- the corn and crab soup- amazing with big chunks of crab and the flounder special - delicious !!!

"My boyfriend and I had a great experience. We arrived early and sat at the bar and had drinks. The bar is small but the bartenders are great. While we waited for our table we shared some raw oysters which were wonderful. The hostess kept checking in on us and gave us an update as to when we would be seated.
I started with the crab ceaser salad and it was great. There were nice chunks of crab in it. There is a lot of cheese but I like that. I ordered the dressing on the side and did not need that much. I ordered the sea scallops and they were amazing!!! My boyfriend ordered more oysters for his appetizer and the crab sautée as his meal. He loved both items. We will definitely go back. My recommendation is to make a reservation."

"With one night in Atlantic City, hubby and I wanted a great meal, something we couldn't make at home, and preferably NOT one of the big name chains (even the high-end ones). Dock's fit every item on that bill and then some! Packed on a Monday night, with a long wait for walk-ins, the service was wonderful and warm, from the lovely ladies at the front desk to our fabulous server, Mike. We LOVE seafood and it didn't disappoint. Hubby got 2.5-lb. lobster stuffed with crab imperial and ate every bit. I was all crab all the time, with fantastic FRESH jumbo lump crabmeat cocktail and perfect sauteed soft shells. The only disappointment was the clams casino were too heavy on peppers and too light on bacon, but small quibble. Fantastic meal!"

"Delicious food and an ambience evocative of the history of Atlantic City. Small and very popular, so noisy and packed (but well worth it). Not the place for a quiet, romantic meal, but definitely a must-do for AC. Excellent Martini list, which I didn't expect. Reservations definitely wise!"

"This was my 2nd or 3rd time here. Not sure if I would go to dinner anyplace else if I am in AC? Food was phenomenal and we had a great bottle of wine. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions of food prepared.
