Our historic tavern, built in 1740, houses four warm and distinctive dining rooms, with 7 working fireplaces throughout. Come enjoy our fantastic food, our relaxing atmosphere, and the very best Lancaster County has to offer!
"Lovely restaurant in an old colonial home. Wonderful ambience, nice fireplace (although not operating at this time of year). Linen tablecloths/napkins. Nice wine list -- reasonably priced. Food was great -- we ordered the Snapper Turtle soup (delicious), Crabcakes were out of this world -- mostly lump crabmeat +++, stuffed shrimp was good too. House salad is included with meal and entrée comes with chef's vegetable (ours was snap peas) and fingerling potatoes. We didn't have room for dessert"

"My family and I chose this restaurant, because the location was halfway between our home and my son's home. We all had a great meal; our waitress was phenomenal; we highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. I also loved the history..."

"Our server was very attentive and friendly. However, the food was very slow coming from the kitchen. I had the pork skirt steak and it was rather salty. The others in our group had the beef tenderloin or the scallops and were very pleased. The desserts were huge and very good. This seemed to be an off night for the Revere Tavern. My parents and I have been there several times and both the service and food have been better."

"The quaint, historic building is the best thing they have going on. We were met by a fairly disinterested hostess, then by a semi-interested server, then things went downhill. Two of the selected wines were not in stock (2 of the only 4 Cabernet's offered). My steak came out and was so cold it wouldn't even melt the herb butter that was on top. My wife's tenderloin tips were more like a beef noodle soup. We passed on after dinner drinks and deserts and decided to cut our losses and just leave.
Probably will not be revisiting for the foreseeable future."

"When we arrived we saw a wedding party going into one of the private rooms and we thought "Oh no. this will take forever". However we were seated immediately ahead of others who had not made reservations and promptly attended to by our server. The food came at a nice pace and was delicious -- from appetizer through dessert! This is always our "go to" restaurant when we are in Lancaster. Prices are a normal, atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is very courteous and pleasant. All the tables in the room we were in on Saturday and it was a little noisy but other than that -- a wonderful experience once again!"

"In search of historic places to visit in the area, The Revere Tavern was recommended to me by a friend. My experience there was everything I'd hoped and more. With history written into every stone and tile, it felt like I might have stepped back in time. The ambiance was lovely, the service was perfect and the food was superb. When I discovered there was a fire burning in the original big stone fireplace in the bar, I just had to sit for awhile and enjoy it. My drink was as good as my supper. Wonderful place to spend an evening. I WILL be back."

"This was the second time we have been to the Revere tavern, while visiting the Amish country. It was a fantastic experience both times. On our most recent visit, we couldn't stop raving about the food. I had the best crab cake ever- it was all crabmeat, NO filler! My husband and I shared a special dinner for two that included soup, salad, filet mignon(which was perfect) with either shrimp, scallops, or crabcake. The value of this meal was incredible, but each course was perfectly prepared and delicious. The service couldn't have been better. Wish we lived closer- this would be a regular stop for us!"

"Every time we vacation (even for short trips) in the Lancaster area, we book a reservation at The Revere Inn. It's a wonderful find with great food, good service and ambiance. We prefer the smaller dining room near the fireplace for that special romantic feel. The drinks are ample, the wine selection good and the menu diverse."

"the reception people were great , open friendly, and nice. the waitress was not very personable. she seemed overworked and tired and just "doing her job". the busperson was very good .. alert and right on top of things. the food was good but not great or above average. the seasoning was good on the food .. my steak was a little rarer than i expected (i ordered it medium) but was ok, but there didn't seem to be that great "back of the throat" flavor in the meat. it was good as i said but not great. fireplaces were not on probably due to the warmer day. the drinks were good and veggies were flavorful... the salad was average. it is a good place to go to say "I ate there". the people at the reservation desk were a delight."

"Historic tavern with stone walls and high ceilings give a rustic charm to the dining experience at an affordable price. Nice, quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The food is tasty and there is a pleasing variety of entrees. I will definitely return for another meal.
Not a restaurant for small children or those looking for a lively hotspot."

"Our waitress was terrible!! I asked for a refill on my sons sprite and she served to other tables first. She served my other son a burned hamburger. But, we watched the other waitress give great service and serve food quickly. Very disappointing"

"We arrived just before 5pm. Our table was ready, next to the fireplace, which was in use. For appetizer, we shared a large roasted portabello mushroom with a generous helping of very good crab imperial. Tools were served with regular butter plus butter with fire-roasted peppers infused in it. I had swordfish Grenoblelaise with fingerling potatoes and fire roasted asparagus. My wife had Duck a l'orange with mashed potatoes and snow peas. Food was very good and quite ample. Due to a theater engagement, we opted to skip dessert and coffee. The aviance of the dining room was quite pleasant with soft romantic music playing. The price of the dining experience, ~$70.00 (with tip)seemed quite fair. We look forward to a return visit."

"Very nice evening at the Revere Tavern. Excellent cosmos in the bar with pretzels and cheese for snacking. Dinner was served in the dining room by the fire - prices were more than fair (with $2.00 coupon from hotel) - includes salad, potato and veggie. All good - I had the filet mignon (6oz) which was cooked perfectly. One small complaint - our table was kind of jammed into the corner and while it was near the fireplace, we couldn't really enjoy it cause the table was pushed far into the corner. Not a big deal though -"

"We really enjoyed our dinner here. It was close to the concert venue we were going to and trying to find a nice restaurant that was different. The food was well prepared. We sat near the fire place which made it more romantic. The service was very good and I was very pleased with the bill at the end. We had a great dinner at a very reasonable price in a beautiful setting."

"We were there on a busy Friday night. We had to have seafood because of Lent. Stuffed mushrooms were great. Two of us had the stuffed shrimp...I was so full, I had enough for lunch the next day. One had scallops...her description was "Excellent". And the seafood combo was great as well. We had beautiful spot in front of the fire place! Even though it was busy, we had excellent service! The new paint and wallpapering is beautiful! Nice job Revere! Can't wait to return for Easter Brunch!"

"Our waitress and busgirl seemed to have snooty attitudes. The fish was not fully cooked and the bill was incorrect (price on bill higher than menu price). Otherwise, the dining atmosphere was very elegant and romantic; and the food was very good."

"Nice building, but the food was uninspired. Service initially was good, but by the end of the meal, the service ended. We lingered and talked, and could have used a coffee or water refill, but it was as we did not exist. Expected better on the food and the service."

"I have been dining at Revere for over 35 years and never had a bad experience until February 1, 2013. For starters, the food selections have changed and seem rather limited now. What happened to the real "Surf and Turf"? The service was mediocre, except for the young lady filling the water glasses - my glass was always full. Being confident and professional is a commendable trait in the service industry, but a personality should accompany them. The quantity and quality of the food was the biggest disappointment. It is sad to think the best part of the dinner was the soup du jour. I regret the Revere Tavern is no longer a tradition in this family."

"They went above and beyond to fill my special requests. I told them we were celebrating my husbands birthday and would like to be in front of a fireplace. We sat in front of a fireplace in a room that we had all to ourselves. Our meal was delicious and when we were finished they brought him a cupcake with a candle on it."

"We have eaten there a number of times in the past and have always enjoyed it; however, we were disappointed this time. One of my wife's favorites (fried mushroom ravioli) is no longer on the menu. The appetizer selections are heavily weighted toward seafood (which I don't eat), so I was not pleased with them. My wife had the stuffed mushrooms which she said were bland. She did not enjoy the fried shrimp dinner and the Veal parm. was okay, nothing special. The service was excellent. It's too bad, we always enjoyed this restaurant in the past."

"We found this restaurant after staying at the Best Western (we found the Best Western because of the rave reviews on trip advisor) We came to the restaurant because we were shopping at outlets and we asked clerk at Coach and they sent us back to where we were staying at the Revere! The bar is a must to have a drink. We had scallops and and filet (my husband always pairs it with a crab cake) both excellent. Creme brûlée was nice after dinner treat! They are painting and doing work on upgrades right now, but they said it wasn't going to interfere with dinner hours. Service is always nice. We love both the hotel and restaurant. Both Lancaster County gems! Prices are fair. Drink prices are very nice! We love fireplace seating!"
