"I went there to have the Tuna Tartar and it was not fresh~not so good, I sent it back. I had the Sea Bass as my entree and it was marginal. I was there a few months ago and it was so much better. I love the view of the Ocean, but the food needs to step up a bit so that I can justified the high prices of the ambiance that I am going to pay at the end of the day with a BIG bill."

"We had an amazing dining experience at lunch. The view made us feel as though we were on the Mediterranean. The food and service were impeccable. It was very relaxed, but professional. The Lobster Cobb salad was fantastic, along with the oysters. This is a wonderful place to take your time to dine and relax."

"We visited Geoffreys for lunch on a Friday afternoon and had a very pleasant experience. The service was prompt and friendly...great cocktails and delicious appetizers. We tried the jumbo shrimp and ceviche. Highly recommended. The atmosphere provides stunning views over the Malibu oceanside cliff. Nowhere quite like it."

"I've dined at Geoffrey's twice and on both occasions the food and dining experience were excellent. The valet parking is so convenient and always quick. But the best of all is the views of the ocean and hearing the waves and sounds of nature. Geoffrey's is always on my list of must dine places when traveling to Malibu."

"I have been to Geoffrey's several times now and am always happy. The food is outstanding and the wine list is tremendous. I think my favorite thing about Geoffrey's is the location. You can sit outdoors or just slightly into the interior of the restaurant and enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean. The staff is very professional and usually attentive. This last time, our waiter seemed to have forgotten us a couple of times, but that evening was an anomaly."

"Had brunch on Saturday at Geoffrey's -- took two hours to get there from Redondo Beach, but the trip was worth it. We called to say we would be 45 minutes late on our reservation because the traffic was so bad, and the hostess told us nicely to take our time and not to worry. We were seated in the bar table area (not the best part of the restaurant), but the ambiance was nice and the food was excellent. Had the shrimp and lobster ceviche (excellent) -- note they charge extra $2 for extra mini taco shells (seems a bit cheap to me). Salmon entree and lobster cobb were both excellent.
No Kids Menu, but our daughter enjoyed the French Toast (even at full price). Would go again if I was in the area."

We started with the mussels and they were very good and generous amount, more than enough to split with several people. The poached pear salad was excellent. We had the scallops and they we some of the best I have had. The sea bass was good but not great."

"We had a large group of 12 and were seated at 10:30 am in an inner dining area. It was foggy but the ambience was still so lovely. Staff was very attentive. "My husband and I were taking out East Coast friends out for dinner and thought a fine restaurant in Malibu would be a perfect choice. Quite unfortunately, we found the food surprisingly mediocre. We ordered oysters which were unremarkable as was my husband's paella. My food, Moroccan chicken, was good enough but served lukewarm. Exceedingly ordinary meal at a high price. I had been to Geoffrey's several years ago and remembered it differently."

"A real gem of a restaurant in Malibu and deserves a 4.5 star rating. Staff was very friendly and the service very attentive ... somewhat too attentive in clearing plates that we weren't quite through with. Fresh oysters were excellent as were the three sauces (Miso sauce was outstanding ding). Corn chowder and Scallops were fantastic. The Kobe short ribs were good but not excellent. The heavy gravy made it taste like pot roast. Desserts, creme brûlée and apple crisp were divine. I would absolutely return and highly recommend. The price ($75/pp without alcohol) is a good value for the food and service."

"Geoffrey's is my favorite brunch spot!! Every time I go I can't resist the ahi tuna tartar. The benedicts are amazing. They were a little busier this time than other times I've been and they sat us off to the side in a more cramped area with a slightly less beautiful view (more plants, less ocean). I'll definitely be back, but maybe a little more specific on my seating preferences."

"I would say bruch here is just "okay". Nothing stood out but to the same token, nothing was terrible.
You must make reservations beforehand, if you're in a large vehicle, be prepared to make some tight turns getting down to valet, views were pleasing, service was normal; you order, they bring your food, check up on you once maybe twice and bring your check.
I was most impressed with the valet drivers quickly bringing cars up and down the steep/tight hill - they deserved the best tip!"

"Had Lobster Benedict. The bread was hard and dry.The lobster cake burned and dry. The only thing good was the eggs, but that is not rocket science to make eggs. My husband had Salmon Benedict. The same apply for his bread. The salmon was dry and didn't seem fresh. Cut the grey parts away before serving. No complaints about the accompanied fruits. Overpriced if you want to have good quality food."

"Geoffrey's outdoor ambienance is super, scenic view of Malibu bay. The food was over the top, the oysters were fantasic & the Chilean sea bass melted in your mouth. Would rate this as a 5 star restaurant & setting. Hahnz our waiter was engaging & attended to us well."

"We had a great time - We went for my 39th birthday with the kids and everyone was happy. Mixed drinks were great, so were the appetizers, wine, and desserts. The steak was great, the lobster was good, but not as fresh (as we have had in Boston/Maine). The service was phenomenal as well. And the rest of the guests seemed to be quite accommodating as well especially since we had a 5 year old with us."

"Great brunch experience overlooking the ocean. Me and my daughter dined here for brunch a couple of weeks ago, and I just had to bring wife by as well. The brunch menu is limited, but sufficient. The food itself is phenomenal. My daughter and I both had the steak (filet mignon) and eggs classic, and I was convinced that I was eaating wagyu beef (it wasn't) due to the tenderness of the cut. My wife had the french toast and was also very pleased. I will definitely dine here for dinner in the future!"

"What a wonderful place to celebrate a special event like a birthday!
We chose Geoffrey's because of the sunset views (although none that night), outdoor dining and the beautiful surroundings.

"Our evening was lovely. I would have liked to sit closer to the edge of the balcony, but that is the ONLY thing I can say remotely like a criticism. I sent the message in my open table reservation, but it was a very busy night and I assumed that I just didn't ask early enough.
HOWEVER, our waiter, Phillip was fantastic. Very professional and friendly - a perfect combination.

"I took a friend for a weekday late lunch to celebrate her birthday. The view and environment were exquisite with pelicans flying by every few minutes, while a great egret perched below us on a tile roof as his feathers wafted in the breeze. It was very relaxing--a place to linger, which many diners did. My friend had the spicy shrimp salad that she enjoyed. I had the scallops with pomegranate drizzle and lobster risotto. The scallops were succulent and melted in your mouth. The pomegranate didn't do much to enhance the flavors and the risotto seemed bland and mushy. I would have preferred some braised greens with the dish instead; however, we both plan to return and try more menu items."

"This place was amazing. We booked it last minute because other places were books and we are so happy we did so. We got a table right on the railing overlooking the moon lit ocean. The cocktails were great and the food was unbelievable. I had recent dental work so I can only eat software items so I had the crab cakes and salmon. Alone they would still be great but with the sauce it was even better. The dinner was expensive, don't get me wrong, this isn't a place if you want a quick cheap bite, but it was absolutely worth every penny. I definitely plan on coming back and enjoying another romantic meal. Oh and the server was very friendly and treated us great."
