"This was not my first visit to this Williamsburg restaurant. I expected great service and was rewarded. The owner took the time to come to our table and talk to us about Italian wines and then selected a beautiful red from Compana. Service to expected from this lovely Italian restaurant. The cannoli were beautiful and the risotto cooked perfectly, Ramsey would be pleased."

"Our first time at Buon Amici --- NOT the best of beginnings. Calimari appetizer was overbreaded and rubbery; the meaty parts were tasteless even with breading removed. Salad was quite nice even though the house dressing was potent. Lamb chops were excellent, but a steak knife would have been appreciated. Seafood crepes were definitely short on the seafood ingredient --- barely 2 shrimp & scallops TOTAL...but tasty. The most annoying part --- we were seated inside for an early dinner and the boss was holding court at the bar. A motley assortment of people decided to pay homage to her, loudly & not exactly the most polite or considerate group. Servers were very sharp in black & white, but the boss & friends were less "polished"."

"Once again, we had an unpleasant experience with our waiter. This time he tried to pull a fast one on a pizza order. He told our friend that he couldn't make a change. The change was that our friend didn't want an item on the pizza. Instead the waiter made our friend "build" his pizza which would have made the cost an additional $4. When the mgr walked by, I questioned him. He got it straightened out. The couple sitting next to us told us that they weren't even told of the dinner specials, that the first time they heard there were specials was when our waiter told us about them. Good food as usual, but the service is an issue. Sit outside, not in the dining, thus avoiding this waiter."

"We had a late dinner here this past week. We chose the grilled shrimp pizza. It was good but I think it could have benefitted from some additional sauce or vegetables like peppers. The baked manicotti was also good - very cheesy!
Our waiter JJ was very pleasant and took just the right amount of care in serving us. The restaurant was very quiet because it was late I think and he had just the right balance of checking in on us without interrupting us. We're visiting and it seemed like this place is also popular with locals."

"My wife and I had lunch at a previous time and loved the place. We had a reservation for 3:00 on Easter Sunday and stopped by around 1:15 to see if there were any cancellations such that we might get in earlier. They were packed but we could eat at the bar. It was fantastic. The brunch itself was awesome and our bartender was equally fantastic. I believe her name was Katrina. Anyway, rest assured that we highly recommend Buon Amici."

"The food was very good, and we would have thoroughly enjoyed our meal if it wasn't for the friendly but bumbling service. Our waiter brought us the wrong bottle of wine, blamed the "pizza guy" being slammed for one diner's pizza being late, blamed the "garlic knot guy" being super busy for not giving us enough garlic knots for the table, and then gave us dessert menus while two people at our table were still eating their entrees! The table next to us received a red sangria when they had ordered a white sangria."

"A lovely restaurant in the New Town area of Williamsburg. Great pizza and some very good Italian dishes. 1/2 price appetizers in the bar and patio areas but not in the dining room (which seats maybe 30 to 35 at beset)during Happy Hour. They shouldn't segregate the 1/2 price appetizers to just the bar and patio. That's a bad business decision. Otherwise, a good dining experience."
