Mundo Restaurant
495 S Grand Central Pkwy Suite A116 Las Vegas, NV 89106
Mundo, A Culinary Haute Spot, is the first upscale Mexican restaurant in downtown Las Vegas. It is a creative, collaborative effort between entrepreneurs George Harris, Irma Aguirre, Mingo Collaso, & Executive Chef Robert Solano. Mundo, a Spanish word meaning "world", is appropriately located in the prestigious Las Vegas Design Center at the World Market Center - Las Vegas. Its menu honors the long and flavorful history of Mexican cuisine, its decor celebrates Old World Mexico & the glam of Las Vegas. Mundo is a spot where the belief that a meal is a bonding experience, and that food, drink, music & laughter is at the center of the community, is celebrated!

"Chips and salsa were better than the last time we dined at Mundo; chips were warmer/fresher and salsa had more onion, tomato chunks; still seems like a store purchased salsa that had some extra ingredients added. Shrimp tamale was excellent, as always.
Do wish they would go back to offering the 3 salsa's vs. the one very mild and seemingly store purchased variety they now offer."
"The food was very good- it tends to be on the spicier side - love the sangria. Our waiter was a little over the top w/ the service however he was very pleasant, attentive, also really like the flan, and the coconut cake."

"Mundo is one of those hidden gems in the Las Vegas neighborhood, located in the World Market away from the busy traffic. We go there before going to a show at the Smith Center. Food is fantastic each time with their nuevo latin cuisine. Their drinks are very tasty too."

"Great place to eat before going to show at The Smith Center during the week. I only wish they were open on Sunday for dinner so we could eat after the matinee at Smith Center."
"Went to Mundo on the advice of a friend. We loved the food and service. The New York strip with tomatillo salsa was great paired with sweet corn tamale. We'll definitely return."

"Fancy food but somehow the seasonings n didn't hit the mark. The food was pretty and creative. For the price, I prefer Gordunos. Good service. Music was kinda loud . Good guacamole appetizer and chips. Street corn was tart, maybe seasoned with goat cheese but the corn was hard and cold. Too tart, needed salt or something. There wasn't salt on the table. Scallops pretty but boring. Salt? Add some lime? Churros for dessert. Nice portion, nicely presented but tough and chewy. Good coffee. Chopped salad pretty but tasted oriental and kinda slimy. Ribeye releno was good."
"We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Alizé, one of our favorite grand gourmet restaurants in Las Vegas and one of the most invisible amidst all the buzz about "celebrity chefs." André Rochat brought fine dining to town decades ago...and he and his Chef de Cuisine Mark Purdy create exciting, flavorful food presented with elegance and style and served by an exceptional staff that perfectly combines professionalism and personality with a glittering backdrop of the neon glow 57 floors below. Superlative wine list. And if you chose the tasting menu with the premium pairing...you'll discover nirvana!"

"Went to Mundo before a show at The Smith Center. Food was pretty good. I ordered the garden quesadilla and my friend ordered the pollo sarpe (I think). We both enjoyed our food. As an appetizer we ordered the guacamole to go with the complimentary chips and salsa. Tasty! We both also ordered the sangria. Very good. For dessert the waiter suggested the coconut tres leche cake. Tasty as well. Overall, the food was pretty good. Not extraordinary but good enough for a return visit. Ambience was very nice. A great place for an intimate gathering of friends or maybe even an engagement party. I also like the location at the World Market Center. Secluded and away from the noise of the strip."

"Great place to dine before seeing a show at the Smith Center. The chips were fresh. teh salsa was tasty.....Recommend the pounded/plancha chicken dish. It was exceptional. The sea bass wrapped in paper was very light and flaky. Great meal!"

"After reading all the reviews, we were excited to try Mundo before a performance at the Smith Center. We found the food average at best. Fresh guacamole was good, but too small a serving for $9. We were kept waiting 20 minutes for our check because the system was down, and then told we would have to go to the ATM because they could not process credit/debit cards - without an apology."
"The service was awesome. The food was great. It was an all around great first time experience. We will be coming back in May for sure."

"At first I was afraid that this restaurant and its staff were pretentious, but shouldn’t be because of the location. Well I have been proven wrong, it is the least pretentious place I’ve been to, here in Vegas, and I have become a regular customer. Anytime there is a special occasion amongst my family & friends, I recommend Mundo. Their food, ambiance, and service are impeccable."

"Food was great, our food accidently got taken to a different table and our server went over and beyond to make things right. We still made it to our show at the Smith Center but we did waita while for our food but the server made up for it and I would defienetly return to this restaurant."
"Party of four for dinner. If you are looking for upscale Mexican style cuisine, Mundo's has it. Great food, excellent service, and a reasonable price for the area. The DJ was playing the music (old '70's and '80's era) a bit too loud for conversation, but then we were sitting fairly close to the DJ area. When asked, the staff was very accommodating in turning the music down a bit."
"This is a perfect spot for dining if you are near the Market, Cleveland Clinic, or Smith Center. The lunch menu provided delicious Mexican dishes with upscale presentation and flavor. Although there were five in our party, all could be heard. I noticed several small business meetings going on as well."

"Always love Mundo's food. Was a little hectic last night trying to get drinks and food and be out in time for the show at The Smith Center. Food came out promptly, but bar was super slow."
"The food is always good, but our service this time was borderline unacceptable. We are accustomed to great service a Mundo, but our server this time was non-existant. The food came extremely late and another server had to bring it to us. When we finally got his attention to get the check, it took him another 10 minutes to simply run the card and get it back to us. Don't know if we'll be back."
"Haute Mexican dishes elevate this South of the Border dining experience. Diverse choices from familiar to innovative. Guac is a must. Super scallops, chopped salad, and flan, for example. Sauces with kick that don't require a fire extinguisher. Attentive service. An added value is that it's a five-minute drive, or maybe 15-minute walk, to the dynamite Smith Center for the Performing Arts, so pre-event dining is both delicious and convenient."
"Mundo is a gem set amid the World Market Center. The food is creative and modern and always top notch and consistent. Since it is off the strip, you don't have to fight the traffic or the crowds. Nice wines and excellent bar. During a Market event, Mundo can be really hopping but the service doesn't suffer."

"We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. I was a little unhappy of where we were seated. A small table right next to the bar. Thankfully, the bar patrons were not interested in watching the games and were not yelling and screaming at the tv. The bar patrons appeared to be winding down after their trade show day. It got busy a little after we arrived and the vibe was very good...a quiet ambience. Out server was very friendly and everything was absolutely delicious. My BF had chicken enchiladas and he said it was the best he had ever tasted. I had the pork tenderloin. Wow, very tender and full of flavor. We shared flan for dessert. Just like my Mom makes it. We can't wait to go back!"

"The pork chop special was absolutely outstanding! The other dishes my party had were also very good, but nothing came close to the pork chop. Worth the $38 in my book. The service was not great - the drinks took a long time and the waiter was not that attentive to our table - may have been busy with too many tables."
"This was a return visit to Mundo. We have been over a dozen times over the years and every time we walk away raving about the food and the service. We will return again in the next couple of week."
