"I did a little research and chose Fiorellos for dinner the night before my son's graduation from Christopher Newport University. We had a party of eleven, half of which drifted in an hour late and our server took it all in stride, despite the fact that they were short staffed. The gentleman that seated us and brought us our drinks was charming and our service throughout the meals was personal without being familiar. The meal was wonderful, particularly the crostini with crab, which I would have everyday if I could. My mother's lasagna was delicious and enormous enough for her to send half of it home with the starving college student to enjoy the next day. It was cozy and charming and a wonderful meal that I would gladly repeat."

"We were welcomed in by the owner of Fiorello's and were immediately impressed by the cozy lighting, soft Italian music and the fresh roses on each table. We all ordered a different dishes and we all felt we had hit the jackpot! We decided to take some of our food home so that we would have room for dessert - delicious! We shared a bottle of wine (the special for the night) and left knowing we would return! I have already shared with other friends that it is the best Italian restaurant in our neighborhood!"

"We went here for our 10th wedding anniversary based on online reviews. Its very hard to get authentic Italian food in this area but this is a GEM! The food was freshly made, we could order what we wanted when we wanted it so it could be a slow meal (which is what we were looking for) or a quicker meal if that's what you want. It was a beautiful place, great ombiance with the lighting too. Everyone was kind and the food was amazing. I would go back in a heartbeat! The food is also FRESHLY made, I didn't see anything that would resemble the usual boring Italian chain food. YUMMY!"

"Not well known - but a hidden gem. Great dedication by owner Jack. Personally went around to every table and thanked them for coming. Made you feel special. Staff conversed with you and made you feel like friends and nothing was too small to them to satisfy and please you. Dessert was excellent as usual - tiramisu is to die for. A great Italian soup is all that is missing from menu."

"We unexpectedly ended up at Fiorello's after another restaurant could not fit an increase to our party for Easter dinner. We did not really expect a great meal at a restaurant in-house to a Holiday Inn in Newport News, Va. We were SO wrong. What a wonderful experience! We were greeted pleasantly, and seeted promptly. The menu was extensive, offering many great Italian dishes for differing tastes. The food was excellent. Our server was very friendly, helpful and prompt with all our needs. We will definitely return!"

"The food and service here was tremendous. We chose the prix fix which was extremely reasonable and absolutely delicious. We had a choice of shared appetizer and salad and individual entrees. We had some of the best Italian food we've ever had and some great wine. We are glad we discovered Fiorello and can't wait to return."

"Here are my issues.i purchased a gift certificate in the amount of 25.00 .i presented to the waitress who I must say was very attentive. She then took the certificate to the manager named jack from Sicily and he refused to accept it. His reasoning was that it could ONLY be used Monday thru Thursday. Now I understand that except there were no restrictions on the certificate I was told that he had just changed it and they would not be accepting my coupon.i just purchased it last week. Now to make it worse he told the waitress to tell us and didn't even bother to come to our table with any explanation. Needless to say I left the 25.00 certificate on the table as we will not be returning.. Now for the food it was okay it didn't have much flavor"

"The food and service there is absolutely great. The only draw back that I have is that the menu is bery difficult to read. The print is so small and the light is so dim makes it vertually impossible for me to read. When I plan on going I'll look at the menu on line and decide before I get there. Even though the Veglio wine they serve is terrific, I think it is over priced at $19 a bottle. They should have some wine deals offered."

"Outstanding -had a red rose on each table-had a guitarist serenading us by playing soothing Italian music- had Valentine's day Specials including heart-shaped ravioli. "We had a reservation but still stood 5 min before anyone came and seated us. The food was excellent but we were charged for an orange juice we did not get. There were no other customers in the restaurant at the time. We had a meeting to go to so we did not complain, but I don't think that we will be going back there."
