"Everything on the menu looked delicious, so deciding on a meal was difficult. We started with the ahi mini tacos which were crunchy and flavorful, loved the mango slaw and guacamole, great flavor combination. Ceasar side salad was enough for the two of us to share, homemade croutons, crisp lettuce, freshly made dressing. My husband had the seafood pasta, scallops and shrimp were superb, mussels slightly chewy, broth well-seasoned. I had the scallops with polenta and asparagus, scallops were some of the best I have had, not a huge fan of the polenta, was to be topped with a lemon-basil-butter sauce which was very minimal (think polenta would have been better if dish saucier). Nice, cozy ambience, a bit on the warm side. Would return."

"Decided to try this new place out downtown before a show and just loved the quaintness of the atmosphere when walking in. The brick walls made it feel like an Italian restaurant and gave it some ambiance. Liked that you didn't have to dress up and they take reservations too. Waitress was cheerful and energetic. Food was gourmet but nothing too froo-froo and tasted great! Prices were reasonable. Would highly recommend this for a somewhat casual meal. Only downfall was that we didn't have time to try the dessert--will have to come back and do that next time!"

"The Green Room is nicely decorated: old brick walls, modern furnishings, and lovely artwork. Portions are large; we could have boxed up half our meal and had leftovers galore, but we were on our way to the theater and had no way to keep the food cold. My husband said the crab cakes were the best he's had in the upstate. The mushroom risotto was creamy and delicious, as was the apple/pear cobbler. We also liked the grilled artichoke with mozzarella appetizer. Unfortunately, the noise level in the dining area was so great that it interfered with our enjoyment of the delicious food. If you are one who loves a party atmosphere, though, this might be the place for you--we are older and place a high value on a quiet dining experience."

"We enjoyed our dinner and our waiter gave fine service and was pleasant. We did eat during "Artisphere" downtown and there were many people in town which contributed to the higher noise level and excitement. The manager was checking the servings before they left the kitchen to be served to make sure they were just right. We spoke with him briefly and he asked was all well. We told him that "The Green Room" had been recommended by Santa several years before. He seemed pleased with Santa's endorsement."

"My wife and I both had great meals prior to an 8:00pm symphony performance on a rainy Saturday evening. Our shared mussel appetizer and etrees of shrimp and grits and crab cakes were excellent, as was the service. Great flavors and a unique presentation on the shrimp and grit entree. Will definitely return soon. The Green Room is one of, now, three restaurants under the same ownership--the other two being Ford's (cajun and also very good) and the new Sip, a rooftop winebar."

"We have eaten brunch, lunch and dinner at the Green Room and have been blown away by all of them. The food is delicious! I highly recommend their Lil Pigs BBQ sandwich and the BBQ Sliders. The Green Room salad is fantastic. My husband loves he crab cakes and thought the duck was excellent. We have not been disappointed with anything and have also had great service."

"I went with a bunch of girls Pfor ladies night. I called ahead to ensure specials would go on til 7. We were given different answers once we arrived by the hostest, website and waitress. Our waitress tried very hard to accomidate our request, however management and bar staff did not. We were provided the incorrect order and had a very uncomfortable interaction with the bartender who threw our drinks down the drain. We were going to eat dinner there, however so uncomfortable by this time we finishes our drinks and went to dinner somewhere else. The appetizers we did have were awesome. Our waitress really tried, but the greenroom is not a together place."

"This visit was not the best effort by the Green Room. One of our party ordered the skirt steak special. There was nothing "special" about it. It was described as medium rare but came well done. The second try was so gristly it couldn't be eaten. Thank goodness they took it off our bill. The espresso maker was broken as well. I will definitely be back based on prior experience. Everyone gets it wrong occaisionally, the important thing is how you recover from it. The wait staff was very apologetic and attentive. The other food ordered was excellent."

Totally inappropriate and took away from the entire experience to have to keep checking my watch to make sure I wasn't enjoying myself past our alloted time. Ridiculous."

"The Green Room is a a great find: a restaurant whose menu has real 'foodie' slant without any of the attitude that sometimes comes with that type of focus. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. The salmon entree that one of our party ordered was cooked perfectly. The duck breast and duck leg confit I had was likewise perfectly prepared. Wine list is not huge, but has some very good selections. And if you order steak frites, get ready to break your resolution to slow down on french fry consumption: their truffle-parmesan fries are impossible push away from.

"We went there on St. PAtrick's Day for brunch (for a birthday). So I am taking that into consideration with my review. This is my second visit to the Green Room and the first visit was much more enjoyable.
This time, the food and coffee was cold. We asked the waiter to bring warm coffee 2 times but he never did. However, he was extremely busy. I don't think they had enough wait staff for that particular day. We had eggs benedict and the taste would have been great but they were cold by the time we got the plates. We ate it anyway and did not complain because of the people waiting for a table and the poor waiter running his legs off. We did have a reservation but felt rushed the entire time because so many others were waiting."

"We had a wonderful experience. Definitely get reservations because seating is limited. I had the Lamb chop special and my wife had the signature meat loaf. Both were great. We split the bruschetta app and the creme brulle desert. It all was prepared perfectly, served correctly and presented nicely. Would definitely recommend."

"I enjoyed the fact that it was a small restaurant. The ambiance was relaxing yet lively (I thought it could be both). The food was well prepared and the wait staff were very attentive. "The Green Room is an example of why there is so much buzz about the Greenville food scene. The food is delicious with very friendly staff. A plus is having breakfast choices at lunch. Every dish I tried was well prepared and presented. The prices are moderate compared to comparable downtown restaurants and the portions are generous. The menu has lots of variety. "We went to the Green Room for the meatloaf and it didn't disappoint. There were three of us and only one person had tried the meatloaf before and she spoke so highly of it that we all ordered it and we were glad we did. It really is good and the creamed peas that accompany it are very tasty.. The mac and cheese is also very good but you can substitute for the any of the sides if you wish. Huge portions lend themselves to a nice lunch of leftovers the next day. There was a good crowd on a Thursday night but not so much hustle and bustle that you couldn't have easy conversation."

"I've lived in Greenville for a while and this was our first trip to TGR. Other than being first seated in an awkward table adjacent to a big group (which they gladly changed), we had a very good experience and will certainly be back. They have a menu that is not overwhelming, but has a lot of items which I would have liked to eat. I had the duck, and would have to say it was some of the best I've had in decades. Highly recommend."

"We made our reservations online. Put in a request for a table in the back and got the perfect back booth for our dinner before the Spotlight concert. Cozy, relaxed, efficient service, lively atmosphere, "just the right" sized bar, every dish full of flavor and inventive but familiar. The variety in their menu is rare. It is there for you at all different times with just the right food offerings. Do they ever close? Check out their Mon-Sun schedule. We live out of town and visit frequently and The Green Room is our "go to" Greenville restaurant."
