"Truffle fries to die for. Starters, tuna tartare and mixed lettuce salad, were very good. Pork trio was excellent, but could have used a bigger bite of glazed pork belly. The roasted petaluma chicken was crispy and yummy; however the accompanying hash was a bit of a mess as the texture was mushy and the red peppers over powered the taste. Our server was top notch and attentive!"

"So we were in Sonoma for the weekend and stopped into El Dorado Kitchen for lunch. The waiter was so lovely! He made excellent suggestions both for wine and for food - all of which we loved. The four of us split oysters and the burrata as apps, along with the truffle fries. My fiance and I each had a burger - delicious! Our friends had the pork tacos and fish tacos. Everything was super tasty and the ambiance and seating outdoors was just perfect! It could not have been a more relaxing lunch! We will 100% be back next time we are visiting!"

"At present, the kitchen is producing marvelous salads, entrees and desserts. The potato & asparagus soup was a stunning visual with flavors to match. The entrees and three desserts arrived - more sharing and big smiles. I offered a New York 30% tip to the wait staff that was there when necessary and absent, otherwise. Perfect. Even the front staff including a taller young woman who's name I cannot recall, was there to greet with a gracious smile and attentiveness that followed us all the way to our table by the window. Yes, I would recommend El Dorado Kitchen to anyone looking for food that's a few clicks beyond the expected served in a very friendly yet professional manner.

"My husband and I went on a Monday night. There was a good buzz in the restaurant. We both had the asparagus appetizer and the halibut for the main dish. The food was incredibly light, fresh and flavorful. I can not remember our waiters name, but he was the friendliest, happiest and knowledgeable of waiters. He definitely added to our experience."

"Although they were VERY late seating us for our reservation, the staff at El Dorado Kitchen definitely made up for it! The food was outstanding (DO order a side of truffle fries as an appetizer--they will last through dinner, even with a party of four), the cocktails were inventive and delicious, and the waitstaff were fun and friendly. We were the last party left in the restaurant, but never felt rushed to complete our desserts or finish our wine. I will definitely go back, and recommend it to friends, but I'll make sure my reservation is earlier in the evening, and that I make it several days in advance."

"In all the times I've been to Sonoma I don't think I'd ever eaten here. Wow, great food and the wait staff was fantastic. I had the tuna tartare, which was amazing down to the last morsel, and the pork tenderloin with chard which was all just fantastic. I will not miss coming here in the future. One drawback: I had a reservation but was seated and re-seated twice. So, seated three times. That was a bit disconcerting. The waitress actually re-seated me the third time in a better location; she said, "Did you WANT to sit back here in this corner???" Really great gal. I'd say the front desk needs to be a bit more on top of things."

"In Sonoma for my bachelor party weekend, we selected EDK for our first dinner. It did not disappoint. The patio atmosphere is straight out of a movie set, and the food is delicious. I had a young roasted beets salad with pistachio merengues and goat cheese foam to start. It needed more foam, but otherwise divine. I had pacific prawns risotto for my entree, which was amazing. I practically licked the bowl. Dessert, however, has just okay. I think it was an apple tart, but it wasn't very memorable. The wine list is great and the sommellier made good suggestions (not just the most expensive). Service was a bit lackluster. Waiter was very blase and not too attentive. Nothing was wrong, but I didn't feel valued or appreciated as a customer."

"We were a group of six who wanted to talk with our family over lunch. When we first walk in you were greeted by a beautiful setting. We were seated promptly at a large table with comfortable chairs. "We dined outside on a cool, but lovely day. Food was a mixed bag. I had the risotto which was very good. My husband had the fried chicken which was a mess! Lots of breading, gravy (yuk) and little chicken. He hated it and picked around to find the small amount of chicken under all that sauce and breading. Our friends had a Reuben sandwich which looked pretty ordinary. We were expecting more. Won't bother again even though the decor and patio were very pleasant."

"Our overall experience was wonderful. We started with a half order of the truffle fries, it did not disappoint. Then out came my husband's beet salad. It was beautifully presented. It was layered with so many great flavors. It consisted of gold beets, red beet paper,oranges apples,grapefruit,candied pistachio merengue. It looked gorgeous on the plate. My husband ordered the Paella and I had the Prime new york steak,both excellent.

"this was my 3rd time at this restaurant. I am from NJ and look forward to my trips to the wine country. I was disappointed on this trip. Although we enjoyed ourselves, something was off this time. service could have been better and seating was a challenge even though i had made reservations weeks in advance. not sure i will be back on my next trip. Just so many good restaurants in the town of Sonoma."

"Great meal. Service a little slow. Nice greeting and welcome. Started w a cocktail called Clear Conscience super refreshing drink. We had crab cakes, oysters, the grilled scallops, prawns risotto. Awesome presentation , food was cooked perfectly, very fresh,taste hit a home run. Kudos to the Chef this was a great gastronomic experience."

"Cocktails: The Clear Conscience was very fresh and thirst quenching – perfect for a summer day! My friend got the Bliss and loved it, said it could be dangerous it went down so well.
Food: I started with the beet salad that was sublime, the very thin slices of beets was very different and the goat cheese was so smooth and creamy - out of this world. I had the butter fish and the combo of olive tapenade and citrus and other sauce was really awesome when combined. My friend had the lobster risotto and it was so good and rich she couldn't finish it. I would like to come back and try the fried chicken and truffle fries, will save that for a lunch sometime in the future, but I will be back!"

"I loved El Dorado Kitchen. The food and service were absolutely amazing. Because of the open space design it was definitely loud, but I had read previous reviews and was prepared for that. If you're looking for amazing food and nice night out with friends or as a couple, I would definitely recommend going. If you are looking for quiet dinner experience, it might not be the best place, however."

"We find it to be a good dependable restaurant. Eating outdoors is always our favorite. It is a lovely setting and usually very quiet. This time my entree was served before my soup. Go figure. In fairness, they took back both of our entrees and brought new ones after they served the soup, but I had to say something to the waiter for this to happen. Shouldn't be the case in this kind of restaurant. At any rate, we'll still return but I was less than thrilled at the whole ordeal. I guess stuff can always happen and its how those things are dealt with that separates the goods from the greats. This was a good."

"We made a reservation for ten adults and El Dorado was indeed ready and expecting us. Our table was waiting and we were promptly seated. My rueben was good and included unique local touches with the seasoning and sauerkraut. While I did not sample the other dishes that we ordered, I did notice similar unique touches as well.
I was a surprised that the servers could not coordinate the distribution of water, bread and butter as we were shorted on the bread and butter.
Regardless, this is a top notch establishment that makes dishes with a unique, local flair"

"We are Sonoma locals who've been to EDK many times over the last couple years. It's vastly improved over it's initial incarnation and has become one of our favorites.
Packed on Friday night. We had a reservation for 4 and were seated in the back room.
Waited 25 minutes to place our initial drink order. Had good conversation, but the wait was a bit ridiculous. Lots of bus staff. But our server was more than a bit frazzled. Drinks had to be delivered by separate staff members (appeared to be managers) each time.
Food also came out extremely slow. EDK needed more/better wait staff."
