"The food was well prepared and well presented. In our party of 7 everyone choose from the small plate menu and all were pleased with their selection. My daughters and I arrived early but were still invited to be seated at our table if we liked. I've had the experience at other restaurants that they want to whole party to arrive before being seated. We opted to sit at the bar and enjoyed a glass of wine where we were offered a tasting prior to ordering. The service was prompt and friendly."

"Family and friends met here for lunch on a Saturday. We had reservations though we probably didn't need them. Service was prompt other than a bit of a wait on the drink we had ordered from the bar. Mussels were beautifully prepared, as was flatbread."

"We always enjoy this place. It offers something for everyone and you can dine on good food without destroying your wallet. However, I have found that the service is increasingly slow. My fiance waited tables for 10+ years so I have the utmost respect for the amount of work and effort it requires, but I am not afraid to say it when I think the service couldve been better. Our waitress was friendly and attentive when she interacted with us but it seemd our food sat after being plated because it wasnt that hot anymore. The good news is that regardless of temperature, the cuisine is delicious and very well priced for the portions."

"Went here for Mothers day for its very large selection menu, my dad ordered the paella which was rather expensive at $32, it came out and everyone in my party thought it was tasteless. The chorizo flatbread was decent, was just like a small pizza. Our two for one pimm's cup wasn't even good, was not light and refreshing at all."

"Got the paella this time. Very good seafood paella, but I missed the chicken and the sausage. Had some excellent Spanish wine. I got to watch a soccer game, which my wife probably did not appreciate."

"First time here but went with another couple that comes here often. The ambiance is great. This is a hip place and it does help to be on busy street. It was very busy when we got here on Friday night. The service was excellent. The food is not so great. I have had better tapas in the city. We usually do not return food to the kitchen but had to return the paella back. The paella said it feeds 2 but it easily feeds 8! Really big but I wished it tasted better- lacked flavor and rice undercooked. Other foods (artichoke hearts, flatbread, meat and cheese plate, fried oysters, and cerviche) were okay. Rioja was great. Most memorable part of the night is when the waiter bought ice cream across the street to serve with our bread pudding!"

"Food was great. Service great although food was a little slow to come out in the beginning. Very noisy place but we had a great time as did our out of town guests. Lamb lollipops and cerviche were very very good."

"This was the second time I've been there and enjoyed it thoroughly both times. My mother, who was convinced she didn't like mussels, now likes them after trying their pesto mussels. The roasted chicken was delicious! The only thing that didn't knock our socks off were the bread pudding and tiramisu. Compared to the rest of the food the desserts were just ok, the bread pudding seemed like it needed a little more love. Regardless of the desserts, we had a great experience and will definitely be back!"

"I took my boyfriend and his family here as a last minute Easter dinner spot. Not have been there before, the menu is a little confusing. Definitely go if you're all into sharing what everyone's got. Small plates are kind of like appetizers and the flat bread is like a very thin pizza, which can fill a person up."

"Service was awful. Granted my party took about 30 minutes to come together and settle down enough to order (and the restaurant was empty so, like, no pressure). But once we did settle down, things crawled to a stop. Ordered wine; 10 minutes for the first bottle (for a party of six). No one came to get our order for food for another 10-15 minutes. We asked for bread, nothing. We tried to order more wine and it was like pulling teeth.Having said that, once the food finally arrived -- and we ordered lots of it -- it was really very good. The calamari and mussels were great. The artichoke small plate was so good we reordered. Lamp lollipops, the filet, the tuna, all were excellent.So... get your act together with your wait staff!"

"We were there during the Superbowl when the town was packed, so can't say how the service/food/noise is during regular times. For us, it was so loud inside we were happy to sit outside. Even if it was chilly and motorcycles went up the road periodically. The service was spotty, sometimes our waitress was there every 2 minutes and then she would be gone for 20 minutes. I think we may have been her only outside table. We liked the small plates not only so we could taste quite a few things but also because we didn't want a full meal and everything that went along with it. It was nice to be away from the French Quarter and the crowds. Salu was a good choice, glad we found it on OpenTable."

"I have been to Salu several times, and generally have never had a problem. The one problem I have had previously is a insufficient wine stock - this was not the first visit they ran out of whatever wine I was drinking. This is worse because they reduced their overall wine list - it used to be much more substantial. They seemed to have opted for foreign wines that either are not along main lines or are using the AOC / GI designations to sound fancy to the untrained - unfortunately the two AOC wine types I like that they used to have - cote du rhone and bordeaux blanc - are no longer on the menu. The service this past time was atrocious toward the beginning, and only became tolerable once she figured out we were not a small bill table."

"That was my 2nd time to Salu. Food like paella and tapas are great as usual. However, when I got back home, I found that the restaurant charged my credit card twice for different amount. I guess maybe it's because we sat outside dining, which may caused this credit card issue. I called the restaurant and still waiting for their resolving the problem :("
