We are located in Uptown, just five blocks from Audubon Park. Our menu is comprised of classic French Bistro fare made with seasonal, local ingredients. The wine list highlights France and the United States, with many wine regions represented. You can choose to dine in our enchanting courtyard or in our charming dining room. We have been voted best courtyard dining, as well as one of the most romantic restaurants in New Orleans.

"Had to endure a small thunderstorm while dining on the patio. This caused a little shifting of everyone's tables and some last minute deployment of outdoor curtains to block the rain. However, the food was still outstanding and the staff improvised. After all - this is south Louisiana in June. Rain and humidity are just part of the deal."

"Our first visit to Martinique in years and so glad we went. From the Blue Crab and Zucchini fritter to the crusted fish with prefect sauce and fresh baby vegetables. Everything was delightful and prepared to perfection. And don't forget the blueberry tart! A lovely time was had by all. Will be back very soon."

"I go to this restaurant once or twice a wee-- sometimes even three times in a week-- so it's one of my favorites. I ordered the avocado and papaya salad . It had great potential but should have been served. The avocado was overripe and black; the papaya was hard as a rock. It was not the usual quality that comes out of this kitchen. I would have taken it off the menu that night.

"I have been going to Martinique since it opened in its first incarnation and it has always been a great neighborhood restaurant. However their prices seem to have crept out of the neighborhood variety. The food was good- quite good, but not up to the prices. I will think again before I suggest going out on a regular night with friends. The prices were more like New York prices. $138. for two. We did have three courses and one bottle of wine."

"We hadn't been to Martinique in a few months, so the menu was quite different when we at there on 6/9/13. That's the way they roll there. Regardless, everything was outstanding, as usual. For example, the gumbo was among the best we've ever tasted at a restaurant, even though one wouldn't ordinarily think of Martinique when thinking of restaurants that are known for their gumbo. The scallops with snap peas from New Orleans East were delicious as well. This place is truly a gem!"

"Based on reviews, I selected this for a team dinner in New Orleans. It was about $10 from the French Quarter/conference hall zone. Everyone loved the food and they had a very reasonable wine list too. My only complaint was that three of us ordered the same appetizer but only one of us got what we ordered. Instead of fixing it, the server argued that she "heard' crab salads and not crab fritters. She should have taken them back and instead disappeared. We could have gone to the manager but decided it was not worth it. The fritter was amazing, the salad - eh. Nothing great. I personally had the steak which was cooked a perfect medium rare to medium. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy. I would definitely go back."

"My husband wanted to go to Martinique for his birthday. Went with our two young adult chilren and we all had fantastic meals. Started with the Eat Local appetizer zucchini fritter, gumbo and pork belly dishes. Main courses were mussels - hubby said broth was so good had to finish it with the bread and a spoon, duck breast with an absolutely amazing deconstructed boudin cake, and fresh gulf fish entrees. For dessert had the Eat local blueberry tart with cream, peach borbon sorbet and the chocolate cake with guiness ice cream. Sat in the outside courtyard and it was very pleasant for the evening. Would highly recommend to those who love to eat good New Orleans food. Service was great."

"I have dined here on several occasions now and it just keeps getting better. The seafood is always perfectly prepared. The service is friendly and unobtrusive. The outdoor patio is divine on a warm evening. Even with the tent and rain flaps in place, it was still a wonderful relaxing experience. One of my favorite small places in new orleans."

"My fiancee & I had a great dinner at Martinique Bistro. They had our OpenTable reservation on file and seated us as soon as we walked in. There is great indoor & outdoor seating available. We started with the Crispy Pork Belly which was fantastic. We each had the La Maison salad - also great. For dinner, my fiancee had the Louisiana Drum with Crawfish tails and I had the Gulf Shrimp. We both loved our entrees. The shrimp dish was very light. For dessert, we had the Dark Chocolate Fallen Souffle with Guiness Ice Cream. The ice cream was probably the highlight of the entire dinner - it was incredible. The staff was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back to Martinique!"

"I travel quite a lot for business and prefer to enjoy my meals off the beaten path to experience the food meant for the people who live there as opposed to those who visit. My favorite restaurants in New Orleans are those neighborhood gems that rarely see the typical tourist. My attempts to make a reservation at a couple of my favorite places were unsuccessful and while talking to the concierge at the convention center she gathered by my wish list that I would also enjoy Martinique Bistro. She was right! The food was expertly prepared, portions were not overwhelming and the dessert was very unique yet delicious. The staff was very attentive and friendly. My friend and I had a wonderful time as well as a wonderful meal."

"The food was a tad off on the night I visited. Although the house salad is delicious, it lacks visual appeal-- just a big plate of greens piled up. Why not add some of those wonderful nasturtium flowers? Or at least cherry tomatoes. My entree was the coconut shrimp. The shrimp were good but they didn't pan saute the noodles like they usually do. Seems like the chef was trying to rush things through the kitchen"

"Martinique has always been a staple of ours. We often bring out of town guests. The new add-on outdoor room is beautiful but our food was terribly disappointing. The salad with goat cheese was more accurately goat cheese with a few salad greens. Much too rich. Please add a green salad (mostly) to the menu. One in our party ordered the french toast which was tasty enough but came with foie gras which was in a word, GROSS. Presentation was nice but taste just didnt measure up"

"Arrived at Martinique at 5:35; ordered within minutes as we were attending a 7:30 show at the theater. Even though only about three tables were occupied, our appetizers did not arrive until 6:20. Entrees came about 6:40. Not sure if the problem was in the kitchen or the with the server. Food was excellent however. Patio dining was extremely pleasant. I ordered flat iron steak which only came with "potato chips". I would have preferred a vegetable. The menu does not have "sides", as I would have ordered one to accompany the steak."

"Just a pet peeve of someone who dines out a lot - complete turn off when I've had a reservation for weeks in a new city and a new restaurant and you put me at the chump table. Do restaurants don't think diners know what the chump table is...? High traffic area, crummy location. Put the walk-ins here not someone who's taken the time to book a reservation weeks in advance. Anyway, we asked to be seated elsewhere and they were nice enough to put us outside on a terrace. Unfortunately the chair I sit on is broken and I almost end up on my back end. At the end of the day, the food was good/service was good but their wait staff is young and inexperienced."

"It was our first night in New Orleans and since we were staying near Magazine St. we decided to try the Martinique Bistro. It was very disappointing since we were expecting great NOLA food! My salad had a grittiness to it like it hadn't been washed well,same for my husband. I had the tuna special, the tuna was dry and needed a sauce. There were nasturiums on my dish, they were pretty but couldn't figure out why on the tuna?? My husband had the pork chop with grits. He liked the pork chop but the grits were tasteless. We went to another restaurant the next night and the grits were buttery and very flavorful. We had the bread pudding dessert, that was good. Sorry to give a bad review but need to get up to par with other NOLA restaurants."

"This is one of our favorite restaurant's. We went for a special occasion and while the food was excellent, the service was unusually poor. Wait staff was in attentive; meals came out separately.
I am willing to assume this was an "off-night." Yet, still VERY disappointing."

"The food is good but tell them upfront if you don't like alot of salt because the chef does.. Try to go during the week. Saturday night was packed and loud mainly because of a table for 10 that was seated inside-- this restaurant does better with smaller tables. The staff is very accommodating and sometimes you can even get them to smile.. Bartender Wade is a master."

"We 'd been to Martinique a year ago and loved the outdoor garden and innovative menu. This time with "iffy" weather, plastic rain curtains were down and there was a large bachelorette party. Untenable noise. It took tight-lipped negotiating by my 86-year-old mother to have the rather uncooperative hostess move us to a table not next to the bachelorettes. Better, but still quite noisy.
Clearly, it was an off night. The house salads had a watery, tasteless dressing. Coffee was lukewarm and had to be sent back. Shrimp entrees were very tasty, but, again, were not quite hot. Very nice waitress, but amateurish service. We were charged for the salads despite a quiet comment about them. Hesitant to go back."

"My wife, a French professor, and I were delighted with the experience. A lovely romantic reprieve from the bustle and hype of the French Quarter. The food was as good as the Commanders Palace - we do not eat meat or poultry - just seafood - and the selection was sufficient that we want to return to try other items on the menu. A lovely casual and very French feeling culinary gem."
