Stella Modern Italian Cuisine specializes in fresh seasonal menus featuring local and organic ingredients when possible. The wood burning oven is the heart of the restaurant, producing Roman style pizza and the majority of the menu. Executive Chef Jonathan Krell has created an exciting menu that showcases local ingredients. The wine list is an interesting group of Italian and American wines.
"Stella has become one of our neighborhood hangouts. The owner Lori always greets the patrons and make you feel welcome. They have the best pizzas in town with super thin crust. Their seafood pastas, osso bucco and crab cakes are outstanding. It is not what you define as Italian American cuisine though."

"Went there for anniversary. Food was great. I had a crawfish pasta dish & my wife had a crab pasta dish. Both were great, as was the Stella candy bar dessert. Unfortunately there was a table across from us that was obnoxiously loud. Would try it again because the food was awesome & different than normal fare around okc."

"Wow! Sorry we waited so long to try Stella. What a great place and so beautiful. The food was outstanding and the service was probably some of the best in OKC. If you haven't been DON'T wait any longer GO try Stella!"

"We celebrated a very important time in our marriage. Stella Restaurant did an outstanding job of making us feel special. The food is always delicious, we go for brunch quite often. Our server did an excellent job of caring for our food/drink needs. Thank you Stella Restaurant."

"I had the special, grouper and a salad. It was absolutely fantastic. I love Stella, but the lunchtime parking for Stella and that whole group of Midtown restaurants is such a mess, I'm becoming reluctant to set up lunch meetings there. Wish there was a solution."

"Waited 20 minutes for our table of two, despite having a reservation. GF had short rib pasta, it was good not great. I had veal, it was pricey but very delicious. We had grilled veggies, factoring in the price for them, they were worth it for sure. I would go back, but wouldn't seek to go back."

"My girlfriend and I enjoyed our visit to Stella. The highlights were the bruschetta appetizer, cocktails, and chocolate ganache dessert. All were outstanding. Our pasta entrees didn't quite live up to the high standard set by the app and dessert. The entrees were certainly good and obviously fresh, but the flavors weren't quite as bright as we'd hoped. Still, we'll visit Stella again without hesitation. Our server, Katie, could not have been better. She was flawless."

"I knew the experience would be good when the owner greeted us at the door. Everything from the drinks to the dessert was outstanding. I would have preferred a different a entrée, the pork belly had good flavor just not my favorite. The winners of the night was the bruschetta and the Cuban cocktail. The service was impeccable and we appreciated that the owner came by our table and asked about our experience. We will definitely return."

"I LOVE this restaurant. Especially for Oklahoma City. It is still an up and coming dining scene, so when I find little gems, I treasure them! I only experienced bad service once, but I was in a party of 7 and I haven't seen the waiter since. And "bad service" is a relative term. Overall, everything was still pretty great."

"Four of us went for a Saturday night dinner. Three meals including the Rosted Chicken, Pork Loin and Risotto were all reported to be quite good. However, I had the Duck Confeit and, unfortunately, it was extreamly salty, dry, tough and the portion was small. We also shared 2 deserts- Bread Pudding and their Candy Bar. The bread pudding was good while the Candy Bar was too sweet, rich and heavy. We will try Stella's again as 3 out of four of us had good meals but I would not recommend the Duck to anyone planing to visit."

"First time visit. We were told that the pizza was "Roman-style," so having been to Italy and falling in love with the pizza there, 3 of the 4 of us tried the pizza. When the pizza arrived, the crust was super thin and tough, nothing like the pizza we had in Italy (the crust is 1/4" thick and chewy in Italy). While the toppings were good, the crust was as tough as show leather I. Some parts of everyone's pizza. I had the acorn squash rissoto, which was good, but lacked seasoning. It was ridiculously loud inside, so we couldn't even have a decent dinner-time conversation."

"I regret that our visit to Stella wasn't entirely positive. The good: intriguing decor; attentive waitstaff. Excellent bread; kudos to the baker. I had the pasta with Italian sausage. Good flavor, but I would have preferred more texture either from the sausage or the pappardelle (?) noodles. Unfortunately, my wife bore the brunt of the disappointment. Her mushroom risotto was overwhelmed by its sauce, which had an unpleasant aroma. Maybe it was the taleggio, but I'm not familiar with that cheese. The coup de grace was the "Stella Candy Bar" we shared. My portion (the chocolate) was delicious and generous. But her peanut butter extrusion was horrible, and not pretty to look at either. I might return, but I doubt she will."

"I wouldn't classify the noise as Energetic... it was just downright loud. The music was mildly loud, but then with everyone talking over it and the bustle of everything going on, we found it to be disruptively loud. The food was delicious! I didn't try anything that I didn't like. I like that everything is fresh and whole. I found the seating to be uncomfortable. I sat on a booth side of a table and it was really low. I felt like I was 5 again at the dinner table. All the tables were crammed together, so wait staff were having difficulty maneuvering around and traffic jams kept building. I found that to be visually distracting wondering if a waitress was going to spill something as she squeezed behind my dinning guest."

"We LOVED the idea of Stellas. Great place and friendly staff. Got right in for our reservation. The problem was the food. Polenta was luke warm and mushy. Salad was way over done with garlic, and I love garlic. The chicken came out dry and overdone, it tasted like something from Sam's that was microwaved. If the quality of food improves, we would consider trying the place again."

"Stella's is a treasure! We eat there for dinner and love it, and because I needed to schedule a group lunch meeting, I asked for a special space and the staff set us up perfectly. Food is delicious, service perfect. I had the pasta special and loved it. They are accommodating for vegetarian/vegan diners. :)"

"We ate at the bar the day prior and went back for dinner Saturday because we were impressed with the risotto and the cheese plate and soup we had as quick snacks. Excellent service from bar tender on the Fri. The bar experience sadly was way better than the restaurant next day. Our waitress was new and untrained, couldn't identify one dish from another. We had the Restaurant Week menu and the "calamari steak on putanesca sauce/pasta turned out to be tiny bits of calmari in the sauce. Hardly truth in advertising. The food was tasty and my pasta with beef ribs sauce was good but I can't rate it overall "good" when they play "footsie" with truth like this. Steak does not mean minced up little pieces. Also they were out of gelato by 6 pm"

"We are fortunate to have a plethora of delicious brunch options in Oklahoma City, and Stella Modern Italian Cuisine offers one of the best brunches in town. From the food to the ambiance to the fully-stocked bloody mary bar, you can't go wrong. A good place for people watching, this is a "see and be seen" type of spot. Although I have to give top honors to Cheever's Cafe, Stella is on my list for top brunches in town."

"Stella is one of my favorite restaurants. The location, ambiance, and crowd are superb. I usually really enjoy the food as well. This time, the pork loin wasn't so great in my opinion. It was pretty chewy. Of course, it could have just been my portion. I will say though, my husband loved it! My salad and veggies were delish! I can't wait to go back!"

"Food was awesome and service was attentive but a bit awkward. I requested to sit at bar top, thinking we would be served by the bartender, but we were seated at the bar but in front of the pizza oven (with a cook working, no room for a bartender.) Our server took care of us from behind, which was a little odd. Otherwise, the place was great and we'll definitely return!"
