"I came here with my friend for my Senior Prom Dinner, since it was close to the location of the dance and a restaurant I've always wanted to eat at. The food was excellent, flavorful and well cooked. The service however, was not as good as the food. While at first our waiter seemed to be doing a good job, it took ten minutes to get our appetizer and twenty five to get our entree. After our dessert we were waiting for our bill for about ten more minutes, and when we finally got to pay we were waiting at least fifteen minutes for our change in order to tip our waiter, but it took so long we just left giving him a five dollar tip instead of the seven we were planning on tipping him, even after asking for our receipt and seeing him walk by us."

"We hadn't been to this restaurant in almost a decade. It was still excellent in every way and we will definitely have to return soon. The server made a wine recommendation that was fantastic and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Every food selection was thoroughly enjoyed!"

"My girlfriend and I went on Friday night before the Derby. We had reservations at 8:30PM and didn't get seated until after 9:00PM. It was understandable since many were there for Derby weekend, but even after we got seated the service was a little lackluster. I think the place was understaffed that night. The food was great, but the service took away from the experience."

"As usual the food was very good.....the service was poor this night. Loooong wait times between waiter sightings and drink deliveries. My salad was not served along with the other party....likely forgotten as the waiter took our order by memory. They promtly delivered it when I complained about it but it was after the entree was delivered. The manager didn't charge me for it and he did offer us free deserts to make amends for the poor service.
We love this place so we'll return and hope for better service."

I think Porcini has the best lamb chops in the city, and the shrimp risotto is another of my favorites. "Our reservation was for 7:00 and we were seated immediately. The waiter took our order (not writing it down) and left maybe 10 minutes after our arrival. About 20 minutes later he came to confirm our order and it was incorrect. We then received our first course (we chose the pre-fix menu)soon....however, our second course took 30 minutes longer,. the waiter was nOT attentive at all! We asked for more bread since our food was taking so long and the waiter said they were baking it. He then proceeded to bring the two tables behind us more bread. The food was delicious ... after our dishes were removed we waited 25 minutes for our dessert. We got our bill @ 9:00pm"

"After readying reviews we invited 2 friends to join us. We showed up early and told the hostess we would wait at the bar. She said she would let us know when our table was ready. A short time after our reservation my husband went to check on our table. It had been ready for a while but noone came to tell us. The hostess led us into the dining room and pointed to a table telling us that was it; no seating. She told us they were busy and it would be a little bit on the menus. We waited severalminutes and a waitress finally came by, commented we didn't have menus and promptly gave us some. She took our drink order. After another long wait we were allowed to order. Summary: veal chops were large but tough, fish wasn't flavorful, but sides good."

"Porcini is always our first choice for Italian (our favorite), weather it's a special occasion, date night or "just dinner". The food and service is always exceptional. This time however, the service was terrible. Maybe our server was new."

"The wife and I and another couple dined here early on a Saturday evening. The place was bustling. Because of our reservations we were seated upon arrival. The service was friendly and attentive. We recommend the bruschetta for an appetizer. We will definitely return."

"Our server was great and the atmosphere is very nice and romantic, but the food was not very good. I got pasta with chicken in it, and the chicken was overcooked and flavorless--it tasted like it had been thrown in the pan last minute with no seasoning. I'm usually very forgiving about these things, but the dinner prices were too high for this to happen. It's too bad, again, because the atmosphere is great and it looked like it had a lot of potential."

"Worst Valentines ever. The seating staff was rude and insistent to place my wife and I at he worst table in the restaurant. We all know that table, the one by the kitchen door that hits you 50 times during dinner. Food was above average and the drinks were strong. Probably to keep me quiet. The ambience is excellent as was our waiter. However, the young lady at the door set the tone for the night. Night good!"

"Food was good, but not great. Restaurant was crowded which created an energetic atmosphere. Wine list was overpriced and when I realized the next day that I had paid $100 for two bottles of chardonnay that were about as flavorful and interesting as 33 bottles of Charles Shaw from Trader Joe's, we thought maybe we will dine somewhere else for our next special occasion. Yeah I know restaurants often double or triple the price of the wine, but after going with the waiter's recommendation this time, I may reconsider in the future."
