Fine dining in Historic Hayesville, NC. We feature the finest steaks, fresh seafood and signature dishes to please the discerning palate at prices that won’t break your budget.
Come enjoy the intimate atmosphere. Our attentive staff will anticipate your needs and insure that your dining experience is exceptional.
We are one block west of the old Clay County Courthouse, next door to Square One Interiors by Design. The Hayesville Square is one of the few remaining old town squares in NC with unique shops and beautiful mountain scenery.
We are two hours west of Asheville, two hours north of Atlanta and two hours east of Chattanooga. We look forward to your visit!

"This was the second time I had eaten at the Copper Door, and both times were nothing less than outstanding. I was very impressed with the food and service once again. I had the pot roast and my boyfriend had the crawfish tortellini, and they were superb. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone as a fine dining restaurant."

"I always bring visiting clients and friends to the Copper Door. Always has been great. I went this past Monday and service was very slow. I am in food service so maybe they were short handed. We arrived at the time of our reservation and was asked to wait at bar. Took another 5 minutes for us to get a glass of wine. Dinner for 3 took 2 hours. Entrees were the longest to come out of the kitchen. Food was great!"

"Elegant and comfy décor. Wait staff is very helpful. The blackened cod and duck breast were outstanding. The "bronzed" cod was on the bland side but would order again, only blackened. The mushroom bisque is always great. Enjoyed our dessert except for the guilt."

"We have eaten at the Copper Door quite a number of times and intend to make the "pairings" just a treat for my husband and myself. Yet we have friends that sometimes we just go out with for friends night and that is definitely my favorite restaurant. I love the food, although I cook a lot of different cuisines at home, sometimes it's nice to go out and enjoy someone else doing the cooking!
Looking forward to the May pairing and having an enjoyable evening. The service was excellent, the food; divine, and I can tell you that as being a local, born no more than a mile from there, this is such a treasure. Thank you, Copper Door!"

"Everything was great, except when we asked to take the remaining excellent food home to imbibe the next day, we asked if we could put the food in the container. The waitress seemed concerned that we would ask and said that she would take care of it. We said to make sure that she included the gravy on our pot roast and she said that she would also add extra gravy. When we got home there was NO gravy, not even the gravy that we initially had. This made our subsequent meal VERY dry."

"We found The Copper Door online while searching for places to eat while on our honeymoon. The number of positive reviews was impressive, and we gave it a shot. The Copper Door destroyed our expectations. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The food was AMAZING, and dessert was even better. "We came in for dessert and ordered Creme Brulee and Bananas Foster. The Creme Brulee was great but the waitress who made the Bananas Foster had no clue what she was doing and absolutely drowned the bananas in way too much liquor and still couldn't get it to ignite so another waiter came and re-doused it in even MORE liquor. There was so much alcohol in this that you couldn't taste anything but liquor and it melted the ice cream on contact so I was served an over alchoholed melted mess that was inedible partially because I am pregnant, and partially because it was the worst bananas foster I've ever had."

"We live in Hayesville and have to go outside of the immediate area for many things, but not for a fine dining experience...we have it right here with The Copper Door. Consistently delicious meals and excellent service. Be sure to try the red pepper soup, an occasional special, if it is available"

"My wife and I wanted to celebrate our anniverary at a local restaurant for a change.
Wow! The Copper Door was amazing! We thought we've dined at all the best places there was over the years.
The food and service were outstanding as was the nice classical low level background music. It was definitely the intimate place we were looking for and the staff made sure the flowers I ordered were placed on the best table in the house.
Not every day all the best qualities needed in a fine dining restaurant align at once.
Wow! The Copper Door was amazing! We thought we've dined at all the best places there was over the years.
The food and service were outstanding as was the nice classical low level background music. It was definitely the intimate place we were looking for and the staff made sure the flowers I ordered were placed on the best table in the house.
Not every day all the best qualities needed in a fine dining restaurant align at once.
The Open Table website really made it easy to reserve a table and order flowers etc.
Needless to say, we'll be inventing more special occasions just to go back!"

"It was my birthday and I could not have picked a better place to spend for dinner. The food was outstanding! We had recently returned from a cruise on Oceania,and the dinner was as good as any we had on the cruise.
Candace was our waitress and could not have been better. very diligent and attentive.She was excellent!

"Very good restaurant. The food was good. It is a small place but given its location in the city and the city itself, it is appropriate. I took my girlfriend there for her birthday, and we didn't get looked well upon. Being 19, with my just then turning 19 girlfriend, our thoughts were they were expecting us not to pay. Our waiter was nice and courteous whenever he was around us, but seemed to be judging or talking about us to other associates when left our presence. Just a personal comment for any younger opentable members out there. But don't let that take away from the calm and eloquent manner the Copper Door presents to you as soon as you walk in. I would definitely respond this place to anyone else who is going to be around that area."
