"Food is pretty good but a little commercial grade. The servers are not trained and tend to be absent or overly in your face. And the food servers have to stop announcing the food from 3 tables away. Stop the food auction, "I have a steak, who had the steak!??" Dang I hate that!"

"I took a group of clients recently to the Hereford House, which is located close to the airport and their hotel. We were well received by the staff (group of 7 total in our party) and promptly seated. Our server was Jan who was a total delight, a very warm personality who waited on us hand and foot. Overall the food was outstanding, the pork chop was incredible, it was cooked perfectly.
I appreciate the hospitality that the Hereford House showed us, especially Jan. I will definitely return with other clients in the near future.

"My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner as we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed the 4-course meal special. The food was outstanding, the portion sizes quite generous. In fact my wife took half of her salmon home for another meal. We shared an Peach Cobbler that was absolutely divine. Our waitress was a bit too eager to ensure that we were ok. All in all a wonderful meal."

"We chose hereford house to celebrate a special occasion. Our server was friendly but terribly underqualifed to serve on a friday night. We had a toddler with our group and went early to avoid the dinner rush. Our drinks remained empty most of the evening, it took our server 45 minutes to bring our salads (he forgot to bring my dressing and then never remembered so I sat with a dry salad in front of me for 20 minutes), and after 1 1/2 hours of waiting for our entree he admitted that he forgot to enter the order. So after being there for 2 hours we received our entree. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their food. But my steak was so chewy I couldn't finish it. Not worth $24."

"The accomodations provided by the restaurant staff and management were exceptional. Every request I made was fulfilled with expediency and professionalism. The only problem I found is in the parking accomodations. While not minding paying for a parking meter, the inability to purchase enough time required running out to deposit more money before time ran out. Also, being handicapped required having to walk a considerable distance. An issue that you may consider addressing to the city council. Other than that, it was an exceptional experience which I will highly recommend to friends and family. We will return again. Thank you for a memorable night. Kudos to the waiter you provided, he did an outstanding job."

"There were 6 in our party and with wine and cocktails or bill was over $300 . Our server although was young she was attentive but had to many tables and I felt we could have not waited for things like rolls, drink refills or additional drinks / wine. One of the ladies in our party ordered a chicken caresar salad with grilled chicken and it came out with fried chicken. By the time they got it right the rest of the party were almost done with there entrees and I thought a manager should have came by and apologized. Caresar chicken salads are not a special dish and should not take 20 minutes to redo. Very average service, quality of food for the price point. We had dined at Herford House before and experience was the same. Will not repeat."

"From beginning to end every part of our experience went off without a hitch. Wait staff was prompt to addressing every need. Almost to the point of being intuitive to what our next request would be.
We ordered from their two for $65 menu which provided a wide variety of options in both the appetizers and the main course. The meal was well paced in its delivery. You didn't feel rushed in the experience and yet you did not feel as though there was truly any wait between courses. The food provided well balance of flavor and portion size. The steaks were cooked to perfection.
Typically I could provide a suggestion or two that would improve on the experience. They are the exception to the rule. They delivered 100%."

"We live for the Hereford House and go every Valentine's Day, though this is the first time we've been to the one in Zona Rosa. I have to say, the food was good but we are used to AMAZING food when we go to the others, so we were pretty disappointed, especially when spending $100+ on food and a couple of drinks. My husband's ribeye had almost no marble (fat) to it so he said it didn't have much taste; mine was fine but, again, not great. The calimari appetizer was wonderful and we actually got it free with a coupon from our hotel. I had the twice baked potato and my husband had a loaded baked potato and they were good. The service was also good and I loved the atmosphere. All in all, it was a good meal....for $40, not $100. Will not go back."

"We go to the Hereford House in Zona Rosa about twice a month and usually for the happy hour menu. We recently went there for Valentine's Day and had a good time. The waitress we had was outstanding and served us well. We were seated in a seperate back room at a table, although we requested a booth when I made the reservation three days earlier. But that was ok. Because it was a special occasion (Valentine's Day) we felt it would have been nice to have a rose or other single flower on each table and also a lighted candle to make it more special. We live only a few minutes away from this Hereford House and will continue to go there in the future."

"My significant other and I consider Zona Rosa Hereford House a convenient (3 miles) and special place to dine and to celebrate so we dine there regularly. So much that I purchased a dining card, KC Originals, to ease bill payment. We both consider Pierpont's a step up and the American Restaurant tops."

"Have ate hear many times but this occasion was very poor in both food quality and service. The steaks were not cooked to the done ness ordered and came back dry and overlooked, the double baked potatoe was dry, and they changed the rolls from the traditional white roll to a dry wheat roll. The waiter was poor and very unfriendly and when asked to talk to the manager, we were brushed of and the manager never came to the table. It will be very difficult for us to return to Herford House with many other good steakhouses in Kansas City."

"Great service! The steak quality was poor. The first steak they brought out was very tough so we sent it back. It took forever for the replacement steak to come out which ruined the dining experience since other items got cold, not everyone was eating at the same time, etc. I won't be back."
